Nintendo doesn't drop the price of their games very often so if you think Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will cheaper next summer all I can say is good luck with that...

they had a couple lightning deals for gaming the past few days, but the mobile app (Android) being stupid and not listed them on the Current Deal section for some reason. We should see more as we get closer to the big days.

Tell that to the Xenoblade X I got for $30. That game kept dropping. The original on Wii got reprinted and hit $30. Star Fox & Tokyo Mirage, Captian Toad and Mario Tennis Ultra are other recent ones that also dropped quickly. Suprised people still believe this. I think you ment Nintendo games that are Mario, Zelda or Mario Kart don't drop in price often. Mario/Rabbits for $30 at Wal-Mart is tempting though. It just came out in August, but it's Ubisoft so the value will probably keep dropping.

So the wired Switch controllers that WM have for $17 do they serve the same purpose as a pro controller would? If my son was playing mostly docked and had games like Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, and Lego Worlds how many would he need. He should be playing no more than 2 player with me or my wife or a friend from school.

No NFC, No motion, No rumble. Other than that It's just fine. I play splatoon 2 with motion controls off. $17 is a good deal if you're ok with those missing features.

I doubt ps5 is anywhere near 2 years. Sales of ps4 are still beating Sony’s expectations so I doubt sales drop enough before 2019 for that to make sense. Combined with AMd not shipping 7nm until 2019 and ps5 seems like a 2020 device. I do think we will get a super slim ps4 in 2019 tho.

Tell that to the Xenoblade X I got for $30. That game kept dropping. The original on Wii got reprinted and hit $30. Star Fox & Tokyo Mirage, Captian Toad and Mario Tennis Ultra are other recent ones that also dropped quickly. Suprised people still believe this. I think you ment Nintendo games that are Mario, Zelda or Mario Kart don't drop in price often. Mario/Rabbits for $30 at Wal-Mart is tempting though. It just came out in August, but it's Ubisoft so the value will probably keep dropping.

Those releases were for a dying console that didn't sell. Big selling games for a brand new Nintendo system rarely drop in price.
 
Games aside, and this is not meant to be a oh BF sucks post but does anyone feel like prices have gone up on everything since last year? Yes there are some good deals, but the actual price I paid for a few items last year.... seems to be less than this year for some reason, Last year I was getting SD cards for $5 (Officemax) and now I do not see any in the ads under $10, I paid $15 for a premium brand 64GB SD card last year now it seems to be $17-25 for the same thing. I did see one 64GB SD card in the walmart ad for $14, but that's a whole dollar less than last year, usually these things go down in price, not up. Prepaid phones that were previously under $10 with 1-2 exceptions are now $30 and up.. Best Buy's sale on Logitech PC peripherals is now up to 50% off and last year it was a straight 50% off everything. No real deals on 3DS games, in the past there were lots of deals on these. Glad I stocked up on stuff last year, because unless retailers are saving it for the last second, the deals I am seeing are nowhere like last year, but if you want a PS4 or Xbox one, the deals are pretty good for those, that is if you do not have one already.

 
I still have a giftcard for Gamestop from the Tradeathon Flipathon shit that went down earlier this year. So I guess I am finally going to get a PS4 from Gamestop, and use the Giftcard they give to get a few games. Then Best Buy to buy Disgaea 5 for the switch. Other than that, this seems like a pretty lackluster Black Friday.

I don't think it's that the prices have gone up. It's just that the focus for sales shifts from year to year. Every couple years we see a shift in demand from customers for different types of products. Retailers only have a given amount of room for sales and ad space to advertise it all. Unless you're seeing a flat rate "xx% off everything", they have to pick and choose the focus for their sale items.

For what it's worth, Disgaea 5 doesn't appear to have had a significant (>$5) sale since release, until the $20 BF price at one retailer. To top that off, it's availability has been a disaster and there will be lots of disappointed people on Friday morning when they couldn't get a copy.

The other titles have indeed dropped - Disgaea appears to be the anomaly.

Just off the top of my head I got Skyward Sword for $15, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon for $10, Fire Emblem Awakening for $15, Dragon Quest 6 for $10, Metriod Prime Trilogy for $20, Metroid Other M for $10 & Golden Sun 3 for $10 all new, all within a year of release. Wii, DS & 3DS were all successful. That's just the ones I remember now. Lol. You two really should check out the site I use it's called cheapassgamer.com

Xenoblade isn't a big seller. It will drop like the previous two.

D5 is a very niche title. I doubt you'll have too much time finding a copy of a grindy and extremely Japanese SRPG.

One thing that’s different about this years sales at least at Walmart, they aren’t doing the split sales. They also aren’t going to have the 1hr guarantee. My friends and I normally hit up Walmart on Thanksgiving and try to do the rest online.


Does anyone know how long the Sony 900e is going to be on sale? I want to go compare it to the TCL in store but can’t until maybe Saturday. Not trying to go in during the madness tomorrow.
 
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, sorry if it isn't. I placed an order with samsung for an item that was on sale for black friday, does anyone have experience with them as to how long they take to ship? I foolishly paid for one day shipping thinking it would arrive it a couple days but it didn't. I'm too spoiled with amazons two day shipping I automatically assume everywhere else ships the next day. One of the items is on backorder but I called customer service since the website wasn't clear and they said that the backordered item would ship separately.

 
I actually too feel like the prices overall a bit worse this year.  Even at WalMart I feel like it switched up a bit...it usually doesn't jump from 12-19-29 does it?  Could be totally wrong though.  There's still some decent deals but with places like Redbox having awesome deals throughout the year and just good random deals all over more and more feel like BF is less appealing.  

Also am I missing any good 2DS deals?

Not being political .. all I'll say is when you start putting up trade walls, well, the cost of your goods start to go up because other countries start to do the same thing.
