Somebody came up with limited quantities to save their asses from Bait and Switch. I think the law sees it as a limited discount. Your up front with the clients that only 5 are available, so you sell 5 at that price, the rest at a different price. It wouldn't be hard to prove you sold those five, but you would not create friends doing so. So I see what they mean by limiting quantity, but let's face it, it's not a new tactic for Black Friday. They have been doing it since at least the 80's.
 
The only appealing deal in this entire list is GameCrazy's Prototype for $15. But they'll probably have at most 4 copies at each store. I don't know why people even bother with Black Friday, the deals really aren't that great.
 
Damn, being broke before Black Friday sucks >_>, (Damn you Tekken 6 LE), definatley interested in Midnight Club LA for 7 at Walmart, and Shaun White for 7 at Targets. Though....i might grab Dragon Age if i can find it.

for the price id get a ps3, i own both consoles. you really cant go wrong. but if you like blue ray its ps3 time. both have netflix downloadable movies and the ps3 is free online

Any deals on a 360 Wireless Controller in retail stores yet as an alternative? The GoGamer deal that NuttMan dude found isn't on time for me to buy it tomorrow and wait a few days while I'm at a different location for three days, which isn't working for me.

Nothing shown out there and it's really doubtful. Game just came out and it's been super successful at the initial price point. And Call of Duty games just don't drop in price. Look at the old ones, they still go for near initial retail.

that is just plain stupid then.. They should not be pushing it as a 2 day sale. you know for a fact they will all be gone friday.... game isnt worth fighting the insane crowds at target just for 1 game... hopefully amazon will price match or i will just pass... It be 9.99 soon enough (its 20 now)


also unless they are getting tons of new stock in.. local target had 2 copies of it last friday
 
I ordered 3 ps3 walmart bundles on ebay for about $256 each after my bing cashback. should get them any day this week. Beats waiting outside at walmart for like 13 hours. I'll let u know if the games are bundled in the box like the ad shows. Plus I got $48 shipped for my 2k10 game. Might have to rebuy it for $25.

Some good deals this week. I was hoping for Assassins Creed 2 to be on the cheap, however, it isn't. Thats alright though, my backlog is massive, as I have picked up pretty much every big release this fall season, plus the games already in my backlog (minus Forza and Halo, I have been letting my 360 take the back seat to my other consoles for the past year).

DA Origins will be a great 35 dollar pick up though.
 
OK, I know people on this thread have been stating that Amazon will be doing pm'ing of DVDs, video games, & some electronics. I was planning on using that to my advantage this year (first year of trying some online shopping during BF) but I checked Amazon's website under Price-Matching and found this:

"Amazon.com does not price-match with other retailers (including those who sell their items on our Web site). We do, however, consistently work toward maintaining competitive prices on everything we carry."

Now for example, on Thanksgiving Day Meijer is going to be selling the Wii Fit for 1/2 off or $45.99. Does this mean that Amazon will carry the same item for that price (or lower) once they send out their online "price scanners"? I'd rather get up at 6am, order it off Amazon & go back to bed instead of heading to the store...

They mean price matching in the sense of lowering their items to a competitive price to match other stores, not that you'll be able to e-mail customer support at Amazon and have them match every deal.

And personally, while I think Amazon will have some great deals, I think there are going to be alot of disappointed folks who think Amazon will match every single competitor's deal ... and that has never, ever been the case in past years. Sure, they'll compete on the big stuff but good luck if it's not going to be an item that Amazon can still make money on through volume over price point.

Think about it, stores us loss leaders to get people in and then sell out fast to get folks to buy other crap at regular price since they're already there. With Amazon, they just need to get people on the site and they already have such a buzz going that they hardly need to match every single deal. Who really knows until Friday rolls around, but I'll be surprised if Amazon is matching Target, Frys, Best Buy, Walmart etc on every gaming deal they all offer.
