Blockbuster 5 for $20 Sale (Previously Viewed)

Starting tuesday/possibly friday through 6/6, blockbuster will have 5/$20 on all previously viewed :dvd: & :br: movies priced $9.99 or less.

Supposedly you need a password to take advantage of this sale beginning 5/17 but its not necessary, sale for everyone begins friday 5/20

Heard legion and gamer was bad, but I like gamer. FYI- Another .99 sale coming july 4!

That's great news about the 7/4 sale! Will it be limited stores like this was (with the .99 sale)? Or will it be all stores, this time? And Blu's are included? :)
 
FYI, the blu ray 5 for $20 sale has been extended til 6/13.

price drops are every sunday

price drops happen on mondays if there are any. blu ray price drops are a lot less frequent than regular dvd's.

Good question is it the same stores or different stores? There was only one store within 50 miles doing it here.

That is good news about the sale being extended. My Pirates of the Carribean Blu trilogy came in the mail yesterday and my wife was pissed that I bought "MOAR MOVIES???" so I didn't get a chance to run in last night to see what was left. And if we are lucky, maybe there might be a price drop on a couple blus.

I went to the bank the other day and while there I decided to check out this Blockbuster sale just to find out the last local BB store closed. :lol:

I now have 1 blu that wont have a bluray case. Had 4 left from ones i ordered last week. gah.
 
Does anyone know if stores are restocking during this sale?
My closest Blockbuster is a bit of a hike. It was all I could do to find a 5th disc when I went at the start of this sale. If they're going to have more titles than they did then I'll swing by this weekend.

I went to my Blockbuster today and they restocked on $1 DVDs. They had like half a table Wednesday and got in a new shipment yesterday of $1 DVDs. No Blu-rays but there is a good chance storers will restock for July 4th.

I was never able to find Scott Pilgrim in my area but I didn't get in on this deal until 2 days after it started. I went to a couple of stores but passed on getting more blus. I'm thinking that I'll use those titles to make sets of 5 in the future since the 5 for $20 is supposed to be a recurring deal. I'm hoping that by the time they have the deal again, they will have lowered the price on all those $12.99 and $16.99 titles.
 
Has anyone heard what the sale is going to be on July 4th ? I believe the 5 for $20 is going to be extended for another week from what I heard from a employee. I hope they bring back the 99 Cents blu-ray.

BBV had a sale on 99 Cent BD's a week or two ago. It probably deserved its own thread, as it was a pretty crazy deal, but we all just talked about it in here.

They might do it again on 7/4.

I don't know if it deserved it's own thread. It was pretty YMMV. Almost all stores got the $.99 DVDs but Hawaiiboy said not that many got the Blus. I know that none in my area did. However, I think he said that the July 4 sale will see a lot more stores get Blus. At least I think he said that. So that would be a good one for a thread.

A list of the stuff is on OP's post as well as a thread they linked to. The 5 for 20 BD's were also ended up being in the 99 cents deals for my stores.

you sure there werent just some of the same titles that were .99 and 5 for 20? Supposed to be stock left over from closing stores, so chances are you probably saw a lot of the same titles but they werent exactly the store's own 5 for 20 blus.

You're completely right. It was stock from another store, but a lot of the titles did overlap my stores 5 for 20 sale. If you look at the bigger compiled list on the link that OP posted, a lot of the 99 cent titles came from there also.

just didnt want you to confuse people and have them think their own local store would take their own 5 for 20 blus and drop them to .99.

The Columbia (the states capitol and one of the biggest cities, you'd think the Blockbusters there would have heavy traffic), SC stores didn't have any $.99 Blus and neither did the Sumter store. I called back home and had my parents check out some of the stores in the Kansas City area and the Independence, MO store and they didn't have any either. Several buddies at different bases around the country (FL, NJ, OK) were unable to find them either.

It was said before that it was extremely YMMV, but if you want a thread full of people complaining they can't find the $.99 Blus and asking dumb question, by all means... And it also got brought up, I'm sure that the folks over at SD would love to stumble across that thread.

It was just an off-the-cuff comment, man. I wasn't looking to bring suit against CAG for not creating a new thread for it or anything.

A guy mentioned he missed the deal, so it was more of a way to say the 99 cent deal didn't have its own thread. I didn't think a bunch of weirdos would argue that minute point.

For the record, I agree with the point of keeping that info a bit 'off the record' so it's not plastered all over the net. But as far as it being a YMMV, there are plenty of threads with those 4 letters in the title.

Very minor note - some Independence stores did have this sale going on - not sure which of the four your peeps hit.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure either. I haven't been home in three years and I know a lot of stores have closed in the country. I only remember two stores though anyway, the one on Noland and 40 and the one on 23rd and Sterling (I think?). I guess there is probably one somewhere on 291 or over on Truman? 4 stores you say? Hmmm, I'll have to look for them whenever I'm home next. Need to go sometime soon so my family can meet my wife and daughter.
 
For what it's worth when I was in a Blockbuster last week the manager said that they'll probably have a $0.99 Blu Ray sale around July 4th.
 
Is this sale over? I went to my local BB but all I saw was 4 for $20 on dvd's and absolutely no bulk blu-ray sales. I guess I'll check a different store tomorrow and both of them again july 4th. I would love to get up in the air and scott pilgrim.

Just picked up the Incredibles, the walls have a 35 price tag but i matched the sku on my mobile for best buy and it's 19.99. got it for 14.99 plus tax, the case is thick, like oldschool dvd case thick, lol.
