Last night a friend of mine who has been taking advantage of the Gamerush deals to rack up some credit went to GR to buy some games and found that the value card he'd been using had been cleared of over $100. He talked to the manager who told him that BB was clearing credit from value cards of people who were found to be flipping. He also told him that quite a few lawsuits were resulting from it. I'm not sure if any of you have experienced this, but post here if it's happened to you. If you want to protect your balance on the value card buy a gift card with it.

Thats why I always used my american express card there. They said I was late on a movie, then charged my card. I called up AMX and they gave me a refund right then and there.

My brother had his account suspended once. My nephew, very little, somehow broke the Gamecube. My brother took 6 games from the CC sale, traded them in with the 3 for any used $10 deal, bought games that had tradeback value of $35 each, and walked out with a Gamecube and Spiderman 1 for the 30 bucks it cost him for the 6 games. The employee in BB tried to give him shit, but my brother insisted it was their policy.

Precisely, although I think the people at my Gamerush are suspicious of me. I buy lots of $2 PS1 games off of ebgames, like half of them, hate the rest and trade them at gamerush. I must look mighty suspicious coming in with disc-only PS1 games once a week or so.

Yeah, it sounds suspicious. I'm interested to hear if it's happened to anyone personally. There's absolutely NO way they could prove you bought a copy of a game and tried to trade in that exact copy. You could have gotten an extra copy as a gift or be trading it for a friend.
I like to bet on college football and receive payment in games instead of cash. I've traded in many games from my winnings for credit, some of which were dupes of games I purchased from Gamerush. For them to revoke credit based upon suspicion is a foolish thing to do since they accepted the trades and completed a contract by issuing credit. Erasing the credit without returning the games is fraud and could be subject to stiff criminal penalties, not to mention the civil liability that would certainly follow.

Well that sucks. I only did it a couple of times, but I wasn't doing it to dick over BB. I traded in some old PS1 games, got Snake Eater, finished it a couple of nights, traded it in with an extra copy of Halo 2 I got for Christmas and another old PS1, and did the same once more.
This is dumb if it actually targets people like me who were using their marketing deals justifiably, as I described above.

I can confirm that this is indeed going on. I had a guy come into my store last weekend and try to do the trade 3, get 1 for $10 deal five times. I limited him, but when I went to apply his credit to his value card it had been voided out.
This is exaclty why I no longer work for that hell of a company. Good luck to all who got in on there great deals, just watch out when they come back and bitch you out for trading in a game you just bought days before. They have no idea how to do buisness whatsoever.

Their is nothing in the agreement that says you cannot "flip". Only thing ttey can do is put a void on your trading account. It's not anyones fault but Blockbuster/Craprush that they didn't know about the loopholes. Hell when the DS came out, I was in Blockbuster and I overheard 2 guys working at the time saying that they bought the DS even before it was suppose to be on sale.
All those peopel are douches. Just glad that I got to screw them over so much. Past 2 months, all my games were free. Plus I still have enough for a Gamecube.

speaking of all this, blockbusters newest "end of late fees" is so much crap. all they are doing essentially is charging you a flat late fee of 1.25 to "restock' after a week if you dont bring it back.

I've called several blockbusters that ive traded from and they say there is no way possible to give credit back to me. They're pretty much saying tough luck. Nobody has told me anything about credit being voided though. Everyone just says I don't know what could have happend to it. I've only "flipped" a few times and that was basically stuff I got, didn't like, and traded back. I'm pissed because everyone just tells me to call a different blockbuster.

I only keep $60-$70 on a card. But I have like 5 cards. I used to keep the maximum amount on my cards ($500) but I would always get dirty looks.
I never "reload" my cards. I get new ones every time and throw away the empty ones.

Yes but Hastings stopped their trade in deal where as BB hasn't fixed it they simply deleted accounts of people they decided where breaking their rules. I really think they could have handled it a lot better.

Yes but Hastings stopped their trade in deal where as BB hasn't fixed it they simply deleted accounts of people they decided where breaking their rules. I really think they could have handled it a lot better.
Having multiple accounts and multiple giftcards mean nothing. Speaking from an ex manager, all giftcards are unique. Even if they see you flipping numerous times they know everyone of your giftcards, and how much each one has on it. All it takes is 3-4 minutes to go through your account history.
Now what Blockbuster is doing by removing credit on giftcards is horriable. They may put your account on hold, or even permanatley ban you, but taking away what is essentialy money because they can't word there promotions correctly or train empoloyee's is BS.
