HOLY SHIT IT WORKED! fuck TRU, I got this shit for $2.99+tax out the door from Target after $12.99 PM and $10 manufacturer coupon. I'm not sure if this is Target exclusive, but it also comes with a free soundtrack of sorts (didn't really look to see what's on it) packed in making the deal even sweeter. It was the exact same girl who PM'd my IM2 steelbook for $21.99 last week haha. I'll post my receipt once I get home from work after I put this baby in the BB iron pack.

Those two coupons have the same UPC though. The "upgrade and save $10" and the "regular save $10" both have the same UPC. I'm still going to try and use them both as I won't cut the coupons out because the pages look different, but I doubt the registers will double deduct the same coupon UPC and doubt even more the CSRs will manually allow it.

How did you get them to price match at $12.99 before the $10 MFG coupon?

Isn't the price at TRU $22.99 this week? Did they also match the $10 off from TS3 preorder but then Target doesn't do preorder on movies????
 
^^ I think targets policy is to not allow price matching AND coupons as well (My experience with blur a few months ago). So this is an extreme YMMV.

I showed the girl the $12.99 price (you know, the one that's misleading and says 'with online coupon') and she did the PM, no questions asked. Then I handed her the manufacturer coupon, she scanned it, and said 'ok, you new total is $3.XX'. I've never swiped my card so fast in my life lol. Didn't even have to sign. :)

It was fun being talked to like I'm mentally deficient by the customer service rep at toys r us. I wasn't pushy or anything. They told me last week they would, now this week they won't. YMMV on being treated like a competent adult.

Lady was clearly upset that I presented both coupons. She checked with someone else who okayed it, then she remarked how it "didn't make any sense" to accept both as she rung up my purchase. It was as if I was taking money from her pocket or something.
 
Dang! TRU at Time Square, New York ran out of Blu-Ray version (BR case)... They all now have DVD version with same contents, 3-Disc Combo Pack; (2-BR, 1-DVD) in DVD case...

Anyone else feel like a loser for not being interested in spending the time to get to a TRU? TRU is so far in the opposite direction for me from home and work that I just can't be bothered. Also, I haven't seen TS3 and have no interest in pre-ordering it. I don't own TS1 or TS2 so far. I got the cashier at Target to price match TRU's 22.99 and then used the $10 coupon. So with tax I walked out for $14.77 which I am fine with.

Yeah, I just posted below and the guy did let me...I held my iphone up with TRU's price and asked and he said he wasn't supposed to but he did it anyway (and he was a team "manager" according to his shirt) and he allowed the coupon...just scanned it and it worked so...but I could see where it could definitely be a YMMV thing.

I don't blame ya...if time and gas are a factor, you're not really saving money to go out of your way. TRU is real close for me, so I will try it there first...if it fails I will walk to Target which is in the same shopping center! If TRU wasn't near my job, I would just go to Target.
 
Doh, forgot to price match at Best Buy. Oh well, used a free $10 certificate & $10 Disney coupon and ended up paying $6.30 I believe.

Got spooked about them running out of the Blu-ray case version so just ran over to the TRU near my office. Another guy came in at the same time pulling the same deal(s) and it looks like we got the last two Blu case versions on the shelf, though it's certainly possible they had more in a box somewhere or up at customer service.

Dammit, the store I pre-ordered at was out of Toy Story pre-orders AND I managed to get there just behind an amateur hoarder couple trying to pull a major scam-- they had *18* pre-orders from apparently 4-5 different stores, were trying to use 18 Disney coupons, brought their OWN Toy Story 3 pre-order cards (either that or they had a few to supplement whatever number they grabbed from the store-- I'd be pissed if I knew if they took ALL of the last cards screwing me out of the full deal on this one), and were raising a MAJOR fuss because TRU wouldn't sell them 18 copies. ("Why did you sell me 18 preorders if you didn't intend to let me pick up 18 pre-orders?" -- granted no one store sold them 18 pre-orders). The manager wanted their phone number to call them after she called corporate about what to do and the couple was getting extremely indignant about WHY they needed to call corporate (she kept saying "it's one coupon per customer" and the couple kept saying the coupon didn't say that-- they were bragging how they went to 18 different computers and this was all of their Christmas shopping-- B.S.) I wanted to congratulate the manager for standing her ground but the couple was really coming unhinged and I didn't want to make it any worse.

So I was screwed for trying to do whatever. I was a bit miffed that they didn't have the TS3 preorders but there was no way I was going to raise a fuss with these idiots keeping the manager occupied.

So my total was like $9 after tax, which was covered by the gift card from Tinkerbell. They kept looking at me (they were off talking to the manager) saying "Well, are you going to honor it for HIM? Why not us?" I'm thinking-- keep me out of this one.

And note to scammers-- being SO BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that you're pulling a scam is NOT a good way to get anyone on your side.

Actually, I took the time to explain to the cashier exactly how the deal broke down because she seemed astonished that it was ringing up as $8.86. She thanked me and said that was a great deal.

It's not always about pulling something over on them. There's a fine line between a great deal and pushing your luck. And attempting to float a second $10 Disney coupon on top of all of the other great discounts just strikes me as a bit excessive.

He's assuming the cashier's will lack basic reasoning skills when presented with TRU's ad that says "$12.99 with $10 coupon" to mean its $12.99 base price instead of the $22.99 it really is.
So 50/50 shot of it working.
 
Just went to TRU (San Mateo, CA) and after a bit of confusion, we got it figured out! I paid $9.39 ($5 for TS3 pre and $4.39 for BatB after tax) after it was all said and done! The sales associate was very nice and went in the back to find me a copy in the Blu packaging! The mgr. had to come over but she was super cool about it! I hope they have a similar deal for Fantasia!

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you tried to pass off both the $10 Disney upgrade coupon AND the identical $10 mfr coupon released a couple days ago...basically the same coupon twice. I apologize if I mischaracterized what you were trying to do.

I might not even have had a problem with that had you not acted like she was crazy for questioning such a (let's be honest, pretty irregular) transaction. She's just trying to do her job. It's not like this is BB and she's denying a $2 price match or something.

Is the print ad different from the online ad because in the ad I see, it actually says "$22.99" in big and bold font...then under it, it mentions the $12.99 with $10 coupon. If the print ad is the same, I can't even fathom anybody being dumb enough to fall for the suggestion of a $12.99 starting price.

That the lady did it for every preorder and just kept the credits rolling forward. She was very helpful. $8.53 and out the door. I was going to pick up TS3, anyway, so this worked out awesome!
