Blu-ray Discussion Thread - The One and Only
Wow.. Ill post pictures in a few.

You should see what the post office did to my copy of the new Mummy movie.. holy god.

For the record.. I never opened the package. THATS HOW THE PACKAGE CAME... I SLID THE MOVIE OUT!!
It was the movie gods exacting revenge on the steaming pile that was that flick.
I don't think this was mentioned in the thread yet, but Disney's Bolt was announced for March release as well.
I think it may have been mentioned, just not that comment worthy. :D
Bolt was alright...not up to Disney quality animated flicks though.
Given the choice between Monsters, Inc., A Bug's Life and Bolt, I know where my money's going.
You guys are crazy. It is all about my boy Matt Damon and that Good Will Hunting and Rouders. I will grab Pulp Fiction as well, but Matt Damon is TN, TD.
I'll grab Good Will Hunting as well, though Rounders would be a blind buy for me.
Rounders is a great movie. I can't wait to pick it up.

Rounders is fucking excellent. You won't be disappointed, shrike.
Well, I guess that's enough recommendations for me, with you two, and Casey.

Hopefully, they won't dick up the encode on it and it'll look good.
"check, check, check!!!"
"In my club I vill splash the pot vhenever the fuck I pleeeaase. "

Add me to that list. Not the most realistic of poker scenes but a great movie.

Gees....and I took special care in picking out the best looking slip cover as well free of dents/marks! Kinda funny considering how the last Mummy 3 I had from Universal had a holepunch through the disc (not the normal hole, an extra one!) and that as my replacement from them.
Hope you like DNR....Warner sure likes to coat Newline catalog releases with it.
I don't mind DNR, it's never really been annoying to me, but it was pretty obvious on Wedding Crashers, mostly during a closeup of anyone's face.

I'm watching Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery right now, and I'm really surprised at how great it looks.

How does Zodiac look over the HD version, Gizmo? I may buy it off of you when you're done with it, but I have trouble paying anything over $23 shipped (but I know you won't sell it as that), as a local store sells all new BR movies for $19.99. I'm pretty excited that they put Dexter at $19.99 as well, I blind bought that. Pretty good show so far.

Oh, and I keep asking this every few weeks.. does anyone have Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on BR? Imported from Japan? Are there any reviews or anything? I'm actually considering paying $50 shiped for it since it doesn't look like it will ever be released on BR here.

If by here you mean the US, why not?

well UPS took extra care in running it the hell over twice...

Zodiac BD looks and sounds identical to the HD DVD IMO. It has a "new" transfer...but to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference when I A/Bed back and fourth (i have two LG 200s hooked up with the same settings). DVDBeaver posted screencaps and the BD does look slightly better, but I had to strain to tell the difference and my screen is not 100"+ big. I'm holding onto my HD DVD (I already sold the BD to someone else, sorry) since the difference is not enough.

As for Eternal Sunshine....wait on importing it. I have a feeling we may see a Jim Carrey 3 pack (Liar, Liar, Bruce Almighty, Eternal) when Yes, Man arrives on DVD/BD *cough* plans may change though *cough*
I wish they'd release Fight Club :(
They did. I have the steelbook somewhere in the mail...its Region coded though, only works on Region B and my trusty LG 200 :D

Anybody got any news on this series coming to America? I'm wondering if it's better to just buy them from Amazon's UK store. It seems the Canadian sets have been discontinued based on availability and a major price hike. The UK sets are shockingly cheap (not sure about shipping) and apparently both the CA or UK sets are region free, or at least good to play on any American player. But now I'm wondering if there's going to be a problem with PAL discs on an NTSC TV.

I guess this question thread could also double as a deal thread. I think both sets run at $25 each, or a double pack for $40 (save $10!) after currency conversion.
What's Tudors? Are you talking about The Tudors because that's an American show.
Yeah I just saw the box set at Best Buy last night.

If we're talking about The Tudors, like here... http://www.sho.com/site/tudors/home.do ...the boxset for the Second Season came out in the US last Tuesday. The First Season has been out for a fair several months, as well. The first set can be had for a decent price (usually $20 to $25 if you look hard?) and since last week was the first week for the Second Season it went from around $25 or so instead of $40.
THIS SUCKS.

Boondock saints got pushed back til freaking february.

MIRRORS came in today tho ^_^
Ahh, Amy Smart. I would like to netflix that when I start my sub up again.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the OP is talking about the blu-ray versions, which have been released in the UK and Canada but not here in the US.

I know there hasn't been anything official announced, but I believe the blu-ray versions will show up in America sooner or later. I mean, it's already available everywhere else, and other Showtime series like Weeds and Dexter are on blu-ray, so it's probably just a matter of time.

The name of the show is still "The Tutors", and no where does it say anything about blu-ray so we are supposed to guess what the OP's question was?

Surprisingly for a horror movie it sounds rather good.. nearly as good as "The eye"

Decent flick. the unrated version is only like 20 seconds longer than theatrical apparently.. so anyone whos already seen it.. yeaH.

who knows what the OP is talking about, but this is a pretty excellent show... except the 2nd season finale was one of the worst hours of TV I have ever watched.

Hopefully.

I have season 1 on blu ray if ur interested. Ive seen it twice. Decent pq/aq.

Its worth an import in my opinion, but since 2 just ended itll be at least 4-5 months before we get word if its coming to dvd/blu ray.

Showtime though has been improving their blu ray.. Dexter season 1 was great as were Weeds. Ive been hoping more for Californication tho :(

Trust me on this (please), when Tudors comes out in the USA...it will be far more expensive then what you can get it for on Amazon UK. Please, trust me on that.... I suggest you order it from Amazon UK....before they jack the price up. ;)

Agreed. Itll be AT LEAST 40+ per season.

On a plus side, Mirrors aq/pq was rather good.. aq was booooming. PQ was standard Fox release. Mostly perfect, a few hiccups now and then.. my review of it will be up later @_@ When I dont have college. Which seems like never.

Weeds dropped to 12 bucks on blu ray for both seasons 1 nd 2 though so if it comes out here and you just wait it out a bit you should be fine.

i love how hot the chicks are in the tudors... as if every chick henry banged back then was in perfect shape, clean, and completely shaven.... hahahahaha
