Blu-ray Discussion Thread - The One and Only
When the HELL, is O Brother Where art thou coming to Blu? Wasn't this promised like a year ago.
Bad Boys 1/2 have been promo'd for 3 years now :(
Where did you get it for $60?
A local mom n pop shop. They sell all new release blu's for cheap. All new releases are $19.99, box sets are usually well under retail (Matrix set was $69, Lost Heroes S2 was $29, Prison Break was $60). I picked up Dexter last week for $19.99. Their used ones are super cheap as well, ranging from $9.99 to $14.99.

I'd have no problem buying for CAG's. Cost and shipping would be $25 total per blu, prices vary on used ones.
Bad Boys 1 & 2...I haven't even heard an announcement on those. I'd love to own those on :br:
Pop in almost any SONY BD with previews before start up and you'll see scenes from both films :( Theyve been around since 2006 @_@

Yea he's right there are lots of BB1 scenes in those POWER OF BLU-RAY movie mash-up promos.

Well, better they get it right than put something like out like the terribly mastered, F'ed up aspect ratio and resolution Young Guns release I just bought. The DVD version looks better.

Well its been 3 years.. it can't be that hard to remaster them :)

Guess what just showed up on my doorstep?

If you can still get Dexter S1 for $25 I'd take one.

LOL, have you seen the OP in this thread . . .

EDIT:
Whoops- This is what I get for tabbing three CAG threads. I meant the Blu-Ray Glitch thread, this has saved me some serious anger. With the exception of the complete F-up with Young Guns DO NOT BUY IT PEOPLE! It's not even reasonable for $10.

On a small side note, we are in need of some reviewers to handle DVD releases (and possibly a Blu-ray release every once and a while) for our website. The titles vary - some will be major releases, some Direct to video, some TV on DVD and as I said, possibly a Blu-ray here and there. We do have some guidelines - must have a 5.1 system, 32" HDTV or better, and at least an Upconverting DVD Player (Blu-ray player would obviously be fine as well). The reviewer would get anywhere from 2-20 titles a month and expected to send a review in with-in 10 days of receiving the title. If this interests anyone please PM me here.

/end of whoring myself
Yeah well I got the rocker.. so take that. :)

I'll PM you when I'm in that spot. ;)

I'd have all the qualifications except for the time to watch the discs...that and my writing skills suck. :p

Only popped it in for a few minutes (watched Quarantine last night instead). Looks very nice. I have yet to be disappointed by these Canadian BDs. I also picked up Fido and Sin City.

Tons of new Blu-rays announced for Canada only...as usual, here is my thread detailing it.

While searching on Amazon.ca I found several "exclusive" releases found only in Canada. With some already released, and more coming, I figured I would make a small list for those interested. I've bought several releases so far and if anyone else has some of the ones below please comment on them. Most of these releases sell for 12.95 - 17.95 and with the exchange rate, they only add up to a typical USA catalog release.

Already Released:
* Amelie - (1080i, No Subtitles, Poor Menu Navigation; French TrueHD only) with special features
* A Nightmare on Elm Street (TrueHD) (Heavy DNR...USA Release likely to be the same transfer due to it being Warner/Newline) NO special features
* Black Christmas (2006 version) with special features
* C.R.A.Z.Y. (1080i, French TrueHD only) with special features
* Cruising Bar 2 (special features unknown)
* Fido (1080i with TrueHD) with special features
* From Dusk Till Dawn NO special features
* Freddy Vs. Jason (DTS MA) NO special features
* Hostage (1080p - box says 1080i but its a mistake) NO special features
* In a Galaxy Near You (Dans une galaxie près de chez vous 1 & 2) (special features unknown)
* Seed of Chucky (1080i, DTS MA, AVC - Believed to be Rated cut)
* Slither (AVC 1080i with TrueHD / For Comparison, the HD DVD was VC1 1080p with DD+) with special features
* Sin City NO special features - Confirmed for a USA Release in 2009
* The Constant Gardener (DTS MA) with special features
* The Butterfly Effect (DTS MA) Theatrical Cut (1 Hour 54 Mins) NO special features
* Young People F***ing with special features

Someone else confirmed - Alliance messed up on the artwork because it IS the Directors Cut!

Question is there a limit to the amount of times you can use the included digital copys? I bought Pineaplle Express and grabbed it off iTunes, does this mean I can't grab it as an actual file now or?
I cant believe u woke me up to tell me Chasing Amy is coming out on Blu-ray in canada. Im turning off msn at night :(
Woke you up? It was like 11am in California...

Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway comes out tomorrow. Though, I'm probably the only person who wants to get it, has anyone seen it for less than $30?

Thank God nothing for me this week. After last week and some more imports I need a week to recover in time for Boondock Saints, Donnie Darko and maybe Miracle at St. Anna next week.
The new DC DTV is a Wonder Woman feature, and it's supposed to be decent.

There's gonna be a :br: special edition that comes with an exclusive Wonder Woman action figure, shown here:

http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?m...B_BD_3dBDGiftSetdoll.jpg&dispsize=600&start=0

Since it's an exclusive figure, you could probably sell the figure off to help defray the cost.

Unfortunately, there's no new of who is carrying the :br: SE yet.
$27.95 up for pre-order at Warner Home Video:

(When you click on the link it shows you the regular edition pic, but it's priced at $27.95, and the regular is $23.95)

Candyland.com, where every order comes with a dozen lollipops and your own personal unicorn.

I just ordered James Cameron's Avatar for $22 shipped. Score!
