Guess that means there's hope...
I got that too. I was just watching the one where Cartman drinks Kenny's ashes and the boys are building the "Ladder to Heaven" last night and was thinking about BR releases and figured someone may know more than me.

cloverfield looked really good IMO, probably 4.5/5 by HDD standards

sound was amazing, best i've heard

haven't tried out any of the features yet

also blue-underground announced some blu ray titles:

The Final Countdown, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, The Stendhal Syndrome, Maniac, Vigilante and Fire and Ice
I don't think so, people on other boards have it, and gizmo has it too I think.
I saw it at Walmart early last week, around the 22nd, I think, when I was hunting down for the NT/NT2 2-pack.

Yep, had my copy for over a week now, but I typically get them a week or two early. Bee Movie's official date is 5/20, but for some reason retailers are sticking to the 6/3 date for the other previous missing Day and Date titles. Its hit or miss really.

As for Cloverfield....

So far this looks amazing! The case has a new "Blu-ray sticker" as shown on the top image. This release also includes the very neat "New Secrets Revealed" security sticker that was present on the DVD.

The TrueHD track is amazing. Best I have heard on any HD/BD release. Get ready to break some windows and piss of neighbors!
Anybody getting Dirty Harry?
Eh. Was never a big fan of any of the movies, but if my set arrives today, I'll be taking a look a look at it.

The BluRay set right?

How much did you get it for?

Yes, its only available on Blu-ray and DVD.

I get review copies to, well, review, so I don't pay anything for them. Warner is tough to get releases from so I doubt I will be getting this one. No biggie for me since I never cared for the films. Ive got a backlog right now so I would rather not get this anyway since its so much right now with Paramount back in the mix and Universal very soon.

As of now no reviewer has the set so Warner may only be sending them out to a select few or not at all. It comes out this Tuesday, right?

Who do you review DVDs for and where can I read them?

As far as Rambo goes.........

awesome movie, and IMO the best looking one I have

and I have:

3:10 to Yuma
Crank
Juno
National Treasure 1 & 2
Shoot Em Up
The Simpsons Movie
I Am Legend
Guys I have one question for this Blue Ray thread........

Where is my Gladiator on Blue Ray, has anything been announced?
I just saw Gladiator the other night on HBO HD. Looked amazing. Can't wait for them to announce a Blu-Ray release.
i also ordered semi-pro but people i know are saying it was real bad.. i kinda regretted ordering it after i heard that
same here, i tried to cancel through WHV but they said it was already packed up and ready to ship even though it was 2 weeks before release

to return i had to reject the shipment, but UPS just left it on my porch

too much of a hassle to return it so i just kept it

ended up watching semi pro, it was alright

will arnett, the gun scene, and kristen wiig were the highlights for me

besides that don't think i'd be watching it again

PQ varies, the shots on the court are nice, but the rest is random

This weekend can't come soon enough :D

i just was playing around with the GPS function thing last night which was pretty cool. it makes the movie into a smaller box and they have a map where they show where the monster currently is, where the miliary is, main characters, etc.

Cool stuff.
1st Lost Boys is coming to :br: too
Well I didn't think that they would only release the crappy sequel on blu-ray.

I just got done watching Narnia. PQ was pretty good, but for some reason nearly all the characters looked like they were superimposed on a background. I hear that its got to do with being over processed or something.

Looking through the special features on the first disc, i totally marked out when i saw the trailer for Nightmare Before Christmas on Blu-ray. It doesnt look quite as good as Corpse Bride did, but it's going to be a must own for my collection. Though i'm wondering what all we're missing as the Special Edition DVD will retail for $180 while the Blu-Ray is $40.

We don't even know if Lost Boys 2 is crap, from the trailer it looks no worse than the 1st one.

Which is a good thing, because the first was so bad that it was excellent
No Cloverfield or There Will Be Blood from Amazon, it's saying in stock on July 3rd. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's see why that might be.

Amazon.com has it for $19.95. DD has it for $27.85 and DVDPlanet has it for $27.99. And it goes up from there, to $28 and up to $32.

I think having a movie $8 or more cheaper than your competitors might get it to sell out, yes.

Damn...I got my pre-order in early, I'll be having it on my doorstep tomorrow.

never trust amazon shipping things anyway

i've ordered stuff that says in stock 4 to 6 weeks and it ships next day

i think they put up very conservative estimates

another plus is amazon started packing in southern style chicken sandwich coupons again or maybe i just got lucky
