Doesn't seem like good enough of an upgrade.
I'd still rather get the 705 for future 7.1
and no one answered me, but can u copy any blu-ray from the ps3 to psp or does it need that digital copy... i've been wondering if it'sworth getting a psp... i dont travel too much though, don't know what benefits it could bring me

Yeah, two more slots.
Upscales to 1080 instead of just 720 on SD content.
And a couple other fine tunings.

And no, you can't copy any BD with the PSP.
I don't think you can do this with any movie out there.
The digital copies have so far been download codes I thought that you redeem in iTunes.

I didn't see this one posted yet, but 6 Bond movies are hitting Bluray on 10/21.

Dr. No
Die Another Day
Live and Let Die
For Your Eyes Only
From Russia With Love
Thunderball

Somewhat varied assortment. I wish they'd announced Goldeneye and Goldfinger.

Nice but Goldeneye and Goldfinger would have completed it.

If I have the Xbox 360 add-on through the 605 it doesn't upscale to 1080? that sucks... I don't really notice it though.

2 slots could be helpful. Ill have to do more research though to see if it warrants an upgrade. I also wish they had slimmed down the exterior on these receivers. My 605 doesnt even fit in my allocated space.

I do wonder though how much i could get for my 605 and how much shipping it would be..

too bad it'll probably be a first dip with no extras and no remastering. God damn you MGM!

...and $39.99 MSRP for each one. Typical Fox.
...and $39.99 MSRP for each one. Typical Fox.
They will be 27.95 or Amazon will offer them as a "set" similar to weeds season 1-3 when they get closer to release.

Fox needs these to sell.

Im glad dallow updates the front page often -_-
...and $39.99 MSRP for each one. Typical Fox.
I just can't understand why they continue to think that they are going to sell their movies at such a high price tag. They have a lot of stuff out that I would buy at a reasonable price, but I just can't stomach paying 30 dollars for an HD movie. I also hate how they don't cut any slack on the catalog titles. There is no reason that Batman: The Movie should cost 28 bucks at Amazon.

Component in -> component out.

This isn't the site to learn about upcoming releases anyway.

eh, I have the HDMI from the xbox into the receiver and the hdmi out to the TV... like i said, it looks really good to me, and I try to watch everything in HD now anyways so, no biggie.

Well in that case, it's fine, the video signal is untouched.

I mean that only when you upscale from an analog cable to HDMI out, it is 720p.
Well, I sold my soul (and my Equilibrium/Machinist Japanese HD-DVDs  ) but I'm officially purple. Just placed the order for my LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD computer drive from NewEgg.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136133

Can't beat $77.58 (after $90 gift certificate) shipped.
ive been looking at that same drive (and the burner model) for some time..almost bit with the ebay cashback program. its been at that 160ish range for a while now.
I thought you had bought a BD-ROM drive a long time ago.
Nope, bought a new computer for it and never got around to actually buying the drive. I hooked my HD-DVD drive to it, downloaded AnyDVD/WinDVD and it seems to be working fine. This is the first time I've seen the drive drop down to $160 at NewEgg so I decided, what better time than now to buy in?

Also those Blu-Rays in store at Blockbuster have been tempting me every time I walk through the store (since I have the Total Access plan). I'll never buy a disc again :whistle2:#
ive been looking at that same drive (and the burner model) for some time..almost bit with the ebay cashback program. its been at that 160ish range for a while now.
I almost did the same thing with the ebay cashback thing but decided I would rather get it from a store instead, just in case.
160 for a burner?
No, that one is only a reader.

The burner is usually around $250-300

Well, like what kind of computer to buy etc. I wanna be able to store a bunch if media files that will play on my TV and also a dual HD/BD drive.
There's a BD-ROM drive that sells for 90-100 at Frys and Amazon from time to time.
Saw it last week in Frys ad.
Yeah, that's for Lite-On's Blu-Ray drive. Lite-On as a company though is pretty shitty.

You'd be better off buying a LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive or a Sony Blu-Ray drive for $160ish.
If I wanted to go the HTPC way whats the cheapest solution?
I bought mine from HP when they were running a deal.

- HP Pavilion Elite m9200t PC with TV/PVR
- Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor E8400 (3.0GHz)
- FREE UPGRADE to 3GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM from 2GB
- 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT, TV-out, DVI-I, HDMI
- No Modem
- FREE UPGRADE! to 750GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive from 500GB
- LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive
- 15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB, 1394, video, audio
- ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote
- Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports
- Norton Internet Security(TM) 2008 - 15 Months
- Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
- HP keyboard and HP optical mouse

That was $819.99 (plus $49.20 tax with free shipping).

At Dell you could get a Core 2 Quad/3GB/500GB Desktop for $499. Upgrading it to 4GBs with a TV tuner would make it $609 and than you could probably buy a cheap (yet powerful) graphics card with a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive for $270-300 from NewEgg.

So, either way, for a really awesome setup (which could also double a gaming PC) you are looking at $800-950.

I love mine. It's basically my one stop shop for entertainment. I can play any game out (only game that's brought my system down to it's knees was Crysis), have access to all of my music (250+ GBs), movies, internet and in the future, when I have a real HDTV, I'll be able to hook it up to a HDTV via HDMI.

Wow...way more then I'll ever need. I don't do any PC gaming, just looking to run some video to the TV. Looks like i'll hold on to my hacked AppleTV.

Well, to do Blu-Ray/HD-DVD you need a semi powerful processor
Wow...that seems expensive. Maybe just a Mac-Mini then, lol.
Ill stick to my XA2 and PS3 (c'mon S550!) for now.
Depends on how you look at it.

For $946.77, I have a brand new computer that can hold all of my music/video, play most games very well, play any disc I throw at it, and be a DVR. It's also super quiet (fuck off Xbox/PS3), should last me 3-5 years and I also get to use fun stuff like AnyDVD to break the region coding/BR+ and Titledrome for movies that lack English subs.

Guess I could have put that towards an actual TV but I'll get there eventually :)
Then give the front page to me and Ill update it every week. How hard is it to copy and paste what comes out?
I also have to change the title, and space is limited, etc etc etc.

Linkin, give the baby his bottle and let him have the OP week after week for the rest of his life, if he wants it.

Why not just start a new thread and have a mod sticky it?

also just jumped on the lg combo drive while the 25% cashback was still good. My plan is to eventually flip it and get the burner once media goes down.

Do you think it will ever come to Blu Ray? How about "The Kingdom" I know it was an HD DVD release but will it come out on blu?
is the Light Scribe burner the one that burns words on top of the disc?
I have one on my laptop. The discs dont look THAT great but i suppose its better than nothing.. supposedly the cd discs looks a little better.

I was in the market for a sata dvd-rw drive anyways so i just got the lg because it can do it all.

My LG should be here tomorrow.

I'll be getting some Blu-Rays from Blockbuster tonight. I don't know what they have in-store but I'm hoping to get There Will Be Blood, Ratatouille and Across the Universe.

:bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

Massive pain in the ass to get it in but it's in and it works. Previewed a bit of Ratatouille and it was very impressive. They didn't have There Will Be Blood or Across The Universe at my store so I ended up getting Lady In The Water (yeah, I know it's crap but I had to see it), Terminator 1 (my first time ) and have Men In Black coming via the site.

Damn It! I'm just under the min requirements! got a pentium 4 at 3.00 ghz. Oh well. I gots me a ps3. But It would be nice to get a blu-ray reader for a desktop. Guess I'll have to wait til my com dies or til they release a new version of windows that's not name VISTA.

What's with the hatred towards Vista people?? Granted there are some issues with the OS but the irritating thing is the people complaining "probably" aren't running ULTIMATE. If you want the true experience of Vista you must be using the Ultimate version.

That's what I had before I upgraded. P4 3 ghz, 6800 GS and 2 GBs of RAM. It could run HD-DVDs but they would stutter.

Dollars to donuts, it's the fact that they either tried to install it on a old computer or that they just bought into the anti-vista hype.

I thought Vista was a piece of shit before I recieved my new computer along with SP1.
