It's been a while but it looks like its that time again. FYE is currently running their brown bag deal where if you fill up their promotional bag, or any other bag with items, you get either a bonus 20% for cash or 50% for credit

To break it down, If you have an item thats worth $15, you can bring it in the brown bag (or any other bag) and get either $18.00 for cash or $22.50 for credit.

If you are wondering how much your cd's/games/movies get at FYE, a good place to check is www.secondspin.com . Their game TIV's are usually spot on, DVD's & CD's can vary between 10-25% between Secondspin's TIV and the actual FYE TIV.

I have them done - didn't take long. However, I don't see a way to upload the excel files on here - I'm probably just missing something. Let me know if there is a way and I will do it.

I PM'ed you my email. If you send them to me, I'll host them on my site and share the link with everyone here.

You could also do a Google Spreadsheet.

It'd be nice if the file would refresh the values, not sure if you know how to do that or not. I had done a bunch of the TIV's for the different consoles last night but it doesn't really work for me unless you have other sites downloaded to cross-reference for flipping purposes.

No, I am really just using these as estimates. I figure GS will be close to these and Amazon will be a little higher than these.
I'm currently up to $900 in FYE credit and I still have all these to trade (ignore the games)

Wow, you are amazing. First you steal a deal and give no credit as to where it came from (re: Big Lots). Then you boast about your hoarding. Congratulations :applause:

I never said you didn't. I believe you when you say you were the first person to be greedy enough to buy up an entire store's (or 2 or 3) stock for you own personal gain. Again, congratulations. All the hoarders on CAG must love you.
How about the Big Lots deal? Where did that come from?
I love how you think you are doing something useful with this thread.

You're saying he's taking credit for the big lots deal? This is an FYE thread. BigLots works great with it. What are you expecting him to do?

What about the BBV thread. We have people flipping from GS to BBV. Is these some 'credit' thats due? Who should we give this valuable E-CRED to?

Forget giving credit to anyone. That is minor to the bullshit hoarding that is going on. People like this ruin deals for those of us that actually want to own these dvds/games. It's pathetic and selfish. And not only is he doing it, but he is boasting about his profits and posting pictures of all the products that could be in the possession of people that really wanted them.

Well....I can understand your frustration. I went to BigLots yesterday looking for the Lakers set but couldn't find any. I did catch a father/son duo at one store that grabbed a shopping cart full of dvds. Probably from slickdeals looking to flip on ebay. I did get pissed because i wanted one for my own personal enjoyment. Sorry....

No reason to assume they were from slickdeals. They could just have easily been from here. Did you see the pictures he posted? And that's not all he bought, he said he already had $900 in credit. This guy probably bought more than the father/son team you saw. That was really my initial reason for responding in here. I see so many people give slickdeals a bad name about hoarding, but than you have a thread at the top of the deals page on CAG that is dedicated to hoarding. It's completely hypocritical.
Personally, I'm set. I already got what I wanted and I have a trade in the mail. But if you look around, you'll see that many people are still looking for these items because their local stores are sold out.

Actually Dino, if you'd like I can go back to the Big Lots stores and take pics of the 5-8 copies per set that I left behind. But as your comments above insist, you're just trying to start shit for the sake of starting shit, so I think im done feeding the troll.

Dino, Bezerker is a very active member on the boards who in my experience does a lot of contributing to other people's gains on a regular basis. Accusing him of being a hoarder is completely inaccurate in my opinion because even if he had bought up all the inventory at a store, his contribution to the deals forum on the whole is outweighed by that.

I got your back on this one Bezerker.

I second that for Berzerker. I've seen him on way too many threads always helping. Cheapy should ban Dino for bashing a key element to CAG :applause:

Nothing happening here is ban worthy... their are differing opinions and that is all, lets not get sensational here. Should something have been credit idk i guess considering cheapy himself sites the collection of deals for the week that are contributed from other posters. Have people on cag given other sites crap for not siting cag on deals yes. I don't see a link to the other thread hurting or helping at this point but it is the norm for cheapy if you want to throw his name in.

So Bezerker stoled the Dallas dvds you wanted?

Just called my local F.Y.E., they said that the bonus credit end tomorrow, July 14th.

I would call and check with your local store just to make sure.

(Thanks for the heads up about this too. I wanted to trade some of my WWE DVDs.)

How the hell am I a troll when you're clearly in the wrong and I'm only taking information from your posts? If you could step back from your ego and greediness for 2 seconds you would see that what you are doing is wrong.

So, because he's an active member it's okay for him to hoard. Okay, great point.

Yes, great suggestion. Are you a fan of Hitler?

dino,

Are you upset that you can't pick up a copy of the Dallas box set to find out who killed J.R. Ewing? Or hoping to catch up on the Dukes of Hazard? Wanting to see what your parents liked about Knots Landing?

What do you care if Bezerker picked up multiple copies of bad 80s soap operas? The ONLY reason why anyone on CAG would want these is to flip at FYE...simple as that. This isn't Cheap Ass DVD Box Sets of the 80s Collector (CADBSOT8C).

Additionally, Bezerker is local to me, and I PM'ed him about which Big Lots he picked up his copies at. He immediately PM'ed me back with the exact store, and pointed me to box sets that were still there that would either make for good trades or be good for my kids. Hardly hoarding behavior.

bezerker is pretty annoying with his constant 'look how much i can flip here are the pics' posts. if you need him to get fye tiv then you are kinda lame too. that being said, i'm sure he made tons of lurkers very happy$$$ in the past by posting his flips which is cool. i thought he was 13 though

August 11th in Phoenix...

I think that you should stop being a jerk about this stuff, Dino.

It doesn't matter if he's a hoarder, which he isn't if he left multiple box-sets behind. You can't say that you wouldn't buy a ton of box sets to flip if you got there first?

Flipping is about who gets there first. Not about how fair it is to you or anyone else. If you really wanted it so badly, you'd have been there when it opened or before him.

For example, I went to a local HWV today for their sale to find some stuff to flip to GS.

I got there 1 hour after opening. Before I even got there, I realized, that someone may have beaten me to it and that I should accept it. I could've been there 1 hour earlier. But I wasn't. That's what matters.

The early bird catches the worm. It doesn't mean you have the right to bash the early bird.

Thanks everyone for having my back. Dino's entitled to her opinion, I do find it more hilarious than anything when people like her pretend to be "standing up for justice" just so they can get up on a soapbox and make themselves feel important.

I hit up 6 stores, came out with 4-6 of each boxsets total. Left a total of 15+ of each boxset between the stores. I cant see how that really qualifies as hoarding but if it floats your taco Dino, go ahead and call me a hoarder. If you'd like, we can take it to the moral discussion thread and see how much of a hoarder others think I am.

Back on topic...
My Fye told me the Bonus brown bag ended yesterday....is it really different for each FYE?
Every FYE store received a new promotions book sometime around Friday that tells them that the deal has been extended through August. Of course, whether or not the employees/manager read it is another thing.

Hit a suncoast vidoe first with the brown bag. Had 4 box sets, base Tiv of $34. Clerk had to check if he had enough cash. Apparently he only had $20, so I told him just give me store credit. Had to wait on manager to get code. She comes out and puts it through except for a season 4 of Dukes of Hazzard which she said she already had 3 in stock used.
I looked over their new "used" section and saw every box set from Big Lots, even Wonder Woman complete series:bomb:

Went to the FYE, same clerk as always. He tried to deny me trading a set of animaniacs, i did a set the other day for cash. Told him i'd be fine with store credit. He rang those and a few others up and then offered cash, so I took it, but I think i'm wearing out my welcome. Every time I'm either trading or using coupons. Is there a new one this week?
He also said the bag promotion was ending today. I'll take Bezerkers word over an actual employee any day!

Has anyone tried to trade in the used games from Hollywood Video at FYE? They do have a UPC so in theory it should work, but FYE can flip-flop on their "rules" so much.

Unfortunately its one of those things you just have to try yourself. I've been to stores where one employee would take anything without a manual while another would demand it had to be complete and mint.

Most likely unless it was a gamer, the employee wouldnt even notice as long as it still scanned right, which most hollywood cases do. What I really want to find now is some games I can buy at FYE and trade to Hollywood. Unfortunately, their TIV's are pretty random.

it seems hollywood has the same or similar tiv as gamecrazy. i called each today for a ps3 wheelman quote (my fye dropped it to $6) and got the same $12 response from each of them.

also, a friend told me big lots is having a friends and family 20% off this sunday. my big lots were picked clean last week so it doesn't help me much.

Crushing drop on Animaniacs, Life Goes On, Dukes of Hazzard, Pinky & the Brain, and Thundercats...$3 each TIV. I lost a good $80, I shouldn't have opened those packages, but I still broke even with my others. Disappointing, I guess I got too greedy.

ye i think EVERYONE in this thread got too greedy...im sure the lurkers in this thread KILLED the TIVs, so prob best from now on we do our own research and keep out finds to ourselves. And it's a good thing i didn't try to go out to FYE today as i would have been severely disappointed (The nearest one is 50 miles from me)
double check with amazon and hollywood video. Maybe you can salvage there.
oh. Just sell it to secondspin.com. They are still showing high value for those dvds.

EDIT: Ok i did some math and read the terms. Specifically on wherehouse.com. This looks great if you are going for cash. Here are some things to keep in mind.

- You can only trade-in 2 of each title
- Make sure you open your dvds
- Make sure your UPC matches the one online
- Make sure they are free of scratches
- They reimburse for media mail shipping if you send 5+ dvds

Here's a good thing. Website pays $10 for a dvd such as Animaniacs. In-store it will go for base of $9 ($10.80 w/bonus). So you are only losing .80cents per dvd by going through the website. Lakers is $14.50 on website but in store its $13 ($15.60 w/bonus) for a $1.10 loss. Not bad at all.

Traded in: 2 lakers dvds for 17.25 credit
animaniacs vol. 1 and (separate) volume 2, and pinky and the brain vol. 2 for $12 a piece
Found out dallas seasons 1+2 (same case) was a dud, only getting 2.66 for it but at least the rest were good. All this is brown bag btw.
Also, noticed that popeye vol. 1 1933-38 goes for the same as lakers on secondspin.com...and it's $3 cheaper (it cost $3 at big lots) so just wondering if anyone has tried trading that in?

I guess if you do a bunch of trades in a matter of a week they ban your account. I was really up front and honest with everyone that I dealt with too, so I feel really slighted on this deal. I've got a call out to the DM to see if this can get settled, and I'm thinking of filing formal complaints with various government agencies over this. If I had done anything that violates policy or was suspicious behavior I could accept it, but I've been respectful, so they should be too.

Got this email from Second Spin, I'm kind of confused.

I followed the rules, did no more than 2 copies of same DVD.

what did you send to them? and were the items still sealed? i've had the same problem with secondspin before and once they send you that e-mail it pretty much means your banned (least thats what it meant for me). and honestly if you sold two of EVERYTHING you had...then anyone would think you were trading with the intent to profit

Nothing was sealed. 2 Animaniacs, 2 Dallas, 1 Laker, and I think that was it.

Well I guess I'll have to stick them on eBay and try and break even now.

hmmm..secondspin is always weird about that. Then again imagine the LURKERS that must have traded to secondspin as well and they must of just caught on

Has anyone figured out a good deal with games for GS's B2G1 sale? My FYE still has the sign up for the trade 6 get 40% plus I am sitting on a good amount of GS credit.

try lookin for most recent price drops at GS and see if you can find any titles that yield at least 1.5 ratio to FYE. Not to be mean but this is CAG, not LAG (Lazy ass gamer)

I have been comparing my list and really have not come up with anything...That is why I was looking for some input from others.

I didn't even want to say the value of :whistle2:# $71.50 base = $103+ credit for $10. This has to be the biggest flip percentage I've ever seen (1,000%).

Tomorrow is the 20% off coupon sale at BL, I'll be picking up 2 sets each of :whistle2:# and :whistle2:# (they have at least 10 of each, so Dino can still get hers).

Oh, and Roots 30th is down to $3. The new $10 big set is $26.50 base. I want one to keep, but wouldn't really watch it until around 2020 when my son is old enough to see it with me.

EDIT: Censored with anonymity for the woe-man.
