....

....

I'm so lonely....

....
....

I actually want to learn something today, and not just another "lets see what happends when ***** gets put in the microwave" test. I want to learn about another country, or about a Time of Importance (His-tor-ry?), or about a special skill (yet again, no microwave). I just dont know where to start.
Learn either

1) About the Philadelphia Experiment (or Project Philadelphia...either way it's damn interesting)

2) How to do a Rubik's Cube in under 2 minutes

3) H.P. Lovecraft

There, easily enough to fill a few hours, if not days/weeks.

I like how people melded to the ship :)

I can do a Rubiks cube in under 2 minutes using the "move the stickers" method.

and any suggestions on a Lovecraft story to start with?

edit: Lots here, actually: http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/index.html
Call of Cthulhu and Shadow Over Innsmouth are perennial favorites, too.

edit 2: I take those recommendations back. Start with Dream Quest of Unknown Kaddath. It's not only a good Lovecraft work, it's also a really good fantasy work in general.

The Outsider is a good start. Very atmospheric. It's a short story if you want a small taste.

If you go to wikipedia for Lovecraft, you can literally spend hours on the linked articles learning all about him.

Also, there really is an algorithm to Rubik's Cube-ness. I want to learn it some day. I'm going to bust that fucker out at job interviews and do it while the person is talking to me, but I'm never going to look at the thing.

It is surely win-win.

I personally like his stuff that centers around Cthulhu, or his Elder Gods. Looking at his list of fictional works, the ones I seem to recall on some level:

*The Call of Cthulhu
*At the Mountains of Madness
*The Dunwich Horror
*The Shadow Over Innsmouth

I know how to do a Rubik's Cube in under two minutes. I learned in my physics class three years ago.

A book everyone should read: Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey. His other great book.

what does the sign say in Clerks that Jay hangs on the window that Randall walks under?

Does it say "I suck cock" or "I eat cock"

I want to screw with my friend a little for april fools
I like how people melded to the ship :)
Of course you would, scha·den·freu·de

I hate April's Fools day. It killed my mother and raped my father.

I wish there was someway to fast foward through the day. Instead I'll just go play Kingdom Hearts 2 and make some stickers. That should keep me away from society.

It's official: any and all roomates suck, unless they're your gf.
i'm looking for a new apartment today...fuck the dorms. I hate having to wait for my roomate to wake up at 1pm before I can turn on the lights or make any noise. and he fills the room with a stale beer/mcdonalds smell every single night. I'm gonna go call the wahmbulance now.
Why do people have to tell the idiots what day it is? Let them keep on believing the outrageous news and laugh at their stupidity.
I don't get it. please spell it out for me completely. ;-)

well, off to pre-order the iGame...

Why would you wait until 1pm to do anything? Is your roommate on 3rd shift or something?

nah, he's just a drunk college student. i don't actually wait, I stop being polite around 12:00 if I need to be in the room :)

Polarium- How much is too much to pay? I've been wanting to try it, and I'm looking at this eBay auction that ends in an hour, and I can probably get the game for $7 or so. Decent price? What's a good price for this game?

Thanks for any help. :D

You'd figure for something as important as Spiderman dying, they'd get a halfway decent artist to work on it. I'm so disappointed, so very disappointed.

Characters in the Marvel universe die so often, though.

True. And I think he came back to life 2 issues later.

I don't want to look at a walkthrough, but when Ashley is restrained in RE4, how do you get down there?
I don't want to look at a walkthrough, but when Ashley is restrained in RE4, how do you get down there?
Just shoot the restraints from where you are. But be careful. Because after that you'll have to snipe down enemies while she tries to escape. And after that you'll have the wonderful opportunity to play as Ashley. That is if you're at the part I think you're at.

Only the final Issue of "The Other" is even worth reading IMO.

Are they going to continue to build on his new powers, or was a one shot deal?

Ah, thanks. I wish I hadn't backtracked so far.
how the hell do you pronounce 'Eidos'?
I always thought it sounded like 'Eee-Doze'

EDIT: and Ashley's an annoying piece of baggage to lug around. Bad enough I've gotta worry about zombies but I gotta deal w/ her. It's a good thing the moments w/ Ashley are brief.
how the hell do you pronounce 'Eidos'?
Eye-Dos (like the operating system of yore).

That's how I pronounce it too.

And goddamn, I missing part 11 of the others. A whole day of reading comics and I'm one short of finishing the whole stupid story line.

Go George Mason, seriously if they offered me a basketball scholarship right now, i'd take it. That coach Larienega or w/e seems like the coolest mother fucker ever.

Oh my God. I'm now two thirds of the way through Season 1 of 24. This is just getting better and better. Ack, I can't wait to finish it.

#3 is done. Definately the easiest of the bunch. After taking the picture I realized I forgot to paint in the neck portion. For the record, I did cut out the neck.

Now it's time to go put these bad boys up. fuck the police.

My little Jack Skellington capsule toy from Wizzywig just broke. His legs were too skinny, so when I tried to put him together, the pegs that function as his knees just snapped off.

It's really a minor thing, but it makes me sad. :whistle2:(

If you look at that a certain way, it looks like Darth Vader.

He's gonna email me right now some info on a few places that he found.

edit: wouldn't you feel out of place at a dorm? Aren't you like 24? My friend who's 21 felt out of place because he was like the oldest guy there.

Dorms are overly expensive anyway... living at my fraternity costed half what the school charged, was a lot more fun, and that cost included provisions for social occasions. :D
