It was 1-Flag on Burial Mounds. We're playing pretty tight defense, Ryan sniping, zero and I scouting, and z ready to blast 'em with rockets. SOMEHOW, all this comes crashing down, and they wipe us clean. They take everything: Ryan's sniper, z's rockets, and of course the flag.
The opposing team drops it out the turret window and are hot-footing it through the valley that runs below the RL spawn. We finally respawn, and I'm the only one even remotely near them. I have no chance of taking them head-on. All 4 of them with an SMG? Just kill me now.
... And there it is. I look to the bridge, and I see the prettiest thing I've seen in sometime: a fresh, sparkling Rocket Launcher. They're about halfway between the bridge and the spot to cap the flag. For whatever reason, 3 of them, including the carrier, pile into their freshly spawned Warthog. I suppose they were going to run victory laps around our base.
But, as far too many Greek mythologies have shown us, hubris is the fall of man. There they sit in that Warthog, thinking that nothing can touch them. After all, they
have the rockets. What could we do, get some lucky grenades? Pisshaw.
Normally a RL in my hands spells disaster for anyone
but the opposing team. But not this time. I focus my aim, I take my time. They're clearly in no hurry, why should I be? As I'm readying my aim, a shot rings out not too far from me. It's Ryan, and he's reunited with his soulmate. He lets out two snipes with what little play he has to work with, considering that valley provides for pretty excellent cover from snipers. He connects though, just not enough to kill them.
They panic. They know we're close, and they've seen what Ryan can do. Flag guy bails, and darts for the cap spot. But it's too late. And everything seemed to be going so well...
The first blast wipes out 3, including the carrier. One left. He's weak as a kitten, but he can still carry that flag as long as he's alive. I watch the rocket fly, praying it will find its destination without the aid of Lock-On, which is begrudgingly missing against any organic form of hostile.
But oh, it does. I look at the players screen and see 4 little red X'es standing in a row.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Game Over.
EDIT: Found the game, replace Ugamer with z. Also, for whatever reason, I wasn't credited with a triple kill or killtacular for those last kills, which we deduced as being a result of Ryan's snipes making them Assists.[/QUOTE]
What's even more spectacular is the fact that I didn't really play in that match, the lag would not stop for me the whole time (I couldn't even move)...Hence my 1 kill, 3 deaths...It was basically a 4-on-3.
