I'd have to say Jack is my favorite movie.

A little kid trapped in a big kid's rapidly aging body? How could you go wrong?

Some of you could learn a lot from that movie.
Wasn't Rififi made in 1955? I wonder what $200k in 1955 dollars would be worth today?

--

Did you know they're remaking the film?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475871/
I don't know where I got $200,000 from, but it doesn't sound right. I can't find the actual production cost, but I found this:

The film was made on an extremely small budget (so small that Dassin claims people do not believe him when he tells them the amount), which is why so many desperate (himself included) or inexperienced people were hired for the production. The director claims that he was so broke at the Cannes film festival in 1955 (where he won the Best Director prize for the film) that, while watching one of the producers play the casinos, he had to ask for some money to bet. He then asked on what date had they began filming Rififi? When informed of the date (the 18th), Dassin put all his money on 18 and won. He says that his family managed to live off this money for a while.

And, yeah. I know that they're remaking it.

Hollywood stinks.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend
Remake of The Longest Yard
Memento
I, Robot
Oldboy

Not in any order, really.
What? That's on some LinkinPrime shit right there.

"Does this look fake?"
It has one of the greatest endings in Cinema, Bizzare and grotesue camera angles and one of the most amazing chase scenes I've ever seen, and one of the most memorable main character you'll meet. If you loved Rififi you'll fucken love The Third Man. (Dont watch the american edited version...they fucked it up HARD)

WATCH IT NOW!
I was actually going to watch it last night.
The Third Man Criterion have the good version?
Both I think. The one narrated by james cotton in the intro is the american version.

Another thing about it, is the music and how its used during important scenes...

here's the opening 4 minutes, with Intro by the un-edited Carol Reed himself narrating

all the background, bombed out Vienna after the war look? 100% real no props, they actually filmed on the ruins of Vienna.

Although Rock Band 2 is slated for a September 14 release on the Xbox 360, gamers who were hoping to save some cash by buying the game+instruments bundle will be disappointed.

The game will still launch as a timed Xbox exclusive, but only as a game disc with instruments available seperately. The cheaper bundle will not turn up until mid October, coinciding with the Playstation 3, PS2 and Wii version launch.

The Special Edition bundle will sell for $199, whereas eager Xbox gamers will have to cough up and extra $50 for the privilige of that 'exclusive'.

You know, maybe this isn't a deliberate attempt to gouge money from a segment of the Rock Band fanbase. Maybe Harmonix are just trying to show Xbox gamers what it feels like to buy a more expensive Import version of a game? Bah, either way.

Good thing I want game-only.
d is for lyxdesia.
Some of us have dyscalcia. One reason I'm banned from ever trying to do my own taxes again.

Oooh.. Der Dritte Mann! Good stuff.
Some of us have dyscalcia. One reason I'm banned from ever trying to do my own taxes again.
I just imagine Gwen's taxes with a bright red "BANNED" on it.
all the background, bombed out Vienna after the war look? 100% real no props, they actually filmed on the ruins of Vienna.
Much of the film was location. It as Orson Prima Donna Welles who later threw a fit about filming in the sewers and they had to build an entire sound stage for that.
What? That's on some LinkinPrime shit right there.
You should be ashamed of yourself for calling Oldboy LinkinPrime shit. :nottalking:

Needless to say, I was blown away when I found out that I couldn't tag threads anymore.
I just imagine Gwen's taxes with a bright red "BANNED" on it.
Could you imagine getting an envelope from the IRS with a big red stamp on it like that? gad. :whistle2:#
Did someone come in to your house and remove the taxes?
Not saying. Not saying a thing.

Put budge's face on this poster, Linkin.

There Will Be Budge

Oldboy and Memento are okay for a top 5 list, the other 3.....LinkinPrime, maybe worse.

Top five off the top of my hay-ud...

Face in the Crowd
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Splendor in the Grass
2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner

Nah, I'm missing way better movies than that.
I'm no good at lists.
It's a shame, Welles was a great actor yet such a pissy guy,:bomb:
For real. Great entrances ('specially in der dritte man, one of his best in the shadows... wow. great look he gave!!) And so dang smart. Ever listen to him on the old radio shows? Not just radio drama, but the quiz and trivia shows he was on? Young, thin orson:

I'll watch that in a sec. Although maybe I don't want to.
Oldboy and Memento are okay for a top 5 list, the other 3.....LinkinPrime, maybe worse.

I've actually never even seen My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and the other two are indeed terrible. ;)

Memento and Oldboy would definitely be in my top 5, I'm not sure what else would though. Dark Knight and Wall-E jump to mind but that's probably because I've seen them so recently. Vengeance is Mine is great but I don't know if it's top 5.

I can trounce that with a "You think that Gambit is a cool character."

I own a lot of pictures I haven't seen yet.

I like having a backlog, so I always have something to do.

I don't like it when friends come over, though, and want to watch one of my DVDs, as I don't like watching movies with other people. That is, if I haven't seen it before.
Everytime Gwen finishes her taxes, she goes back and finds that pages have been removed after the fact ;)
*giggles* Gotta admit, that can be infuriating.

I know I had a list of deductions around here somewhere!!

Damn Brak, that's surprising you havent seen There Will Be Budge.

It got a little boring for me since I have ADD or something but Daniel Day Lewis is unbelievable in it a la Ledger in Batmangs.

Gwen - I sent you a friend request on PSN and 360 :)

My top 5 movies list (in no particular order)

Matrix
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Happy Times
Paprika
Wall-E (maybe)

I'm a little iffy on the last two. They're ones I've seen recently so they stand out the most. But the first three are definitely among my top 5.

Added Rush Hour 2.

Oh boy synchronized diving again.

Anyone that just watches the first hour of coverage every night must think that's all they do at the 'lympics.

Gambit was my favorite X-Mang....
I liked that he was cajun and a had a thing for Rogue, who I also had a thing for. (and psylocke....)

Deadpool was my fave Marvel character.

Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are my favorite Scorsese joints.

I think that Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction are my favorite Tarantinos.

(If Kill Bill were one film, that'd likely be my favorite Tarantino.)
Hold on, who thinks Gambit's cool?
Your boy zew.
