Buy 1 Get 1 Free all PO games $14.99 and under at Blockbuster

Gamerguy

CAGiversary!
I unpacked a bunch of signage at my store today, and there's a BOGO sale going on for all "previously played" games $14.99 and under. Sale starts 6/26 and ends 7/17.

There's a list of "featured games" I received from corporate, but the selection varies by store. Everything $14.99 and under works, across all platforms. Of course, you pay for the more expensive one.

Additionally, there's a buy two get two free sale on all the "previously viewed" DVDs. It's really not that great of a sale: we had a 3 for 20 sale a couple weeks ago that was a lot better.

Anyone else confirm Rogue Galaxy at 14.99? I saw one today but it was tagged 29.99, didnt have time to price check it. Got Kingdom Hearts 2 and Xenosaga 2 for 14.99, Frequency and THUG for 7.99, and Activision Anthology and Psi-Ops for 9.99.
Rogue Galaxy is really $14.99 used at Blockbuster? That seems low for such a recent game.
There were actually two copies. Both mint, both $14.99. I only needed one. Funny thing about my BB, they didn't even have the signage up for the sale. I had to go ask, and was planning on buying it anyway. Tales of Legendia was just a nice bonus. I think the lack of signage migh help me in the long run ... more selection.

Funny thing - the spines on the booklets hadn't been cracked and they still had that "new" smell. The clerk said they had been put on clearance because nobody ever rented them. Seems like people in my town will rent all the copies of Varmint Hunter or American Chopper, but pass by the good stuff. Their loss = my gain.

I was so close to getting Zelda: Wind Waker for free today!

When I walked into BB I saw the main manager who is strict and the newer employee who allowed me to get 2 $15.99 games (1 free) under the B1G1F deal last time I came in. Basically, I knew I had to get the newer guy in order to pull it off again.

Well it was all good since she was nowhere to be found and the newer guy was the only one at the checkout. Then while he was handing someone their DVDs she came back and checked me out. Immediately she saw Zelda and pointed out it wasn't valid for the sale.

Oh well, I just traded for a copy of Zelda: WW and got it in today. Although I was hoping to buy Viewtiful Joe 2 ($9.99) and flip/trade the extra copy of Zelda. Maybe next time...

LOL It all depends on who you ask what 'good stuff' means. For me, it was finding a copy of Scarface for Xbox for $15, along with a $15 copy of Silent Scope Complete for Xbox, which I grabbed and got for free.

Followed that up by picking up Sid Meier's Pirates(no instruction manual dammit) and another game(Armed + Dangerous, which I swapped for True Crime LA, which I also don't like)and I've found at least 1-2 games I want and 1-2 I know I still have about 20 some odd days to swap out for something I truly want.

I just have to trudge out in the heat tomorrow to grab the copy of Freedom Fighters(or maybe I'll grab Outrun 2006 C2C) from the one other local BB, which I'll probably return True Crime LA to get, since I doubt I'll play it. Either way, it's all relative as to what someone likes as to whether or not it gets played.

Your story reminds me of the copy of Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance II I grabbed for $16 and change about 2-4 months ago from a Wegman's video dept. It had only been rented out ONCE in the entire time they had it, so it was like new. So, I got a hard to find game for $16, which no one wanted to rent.

It is a shame that not everyone likes the more 'epic' games(like some RPGs are), but some people just want stuff they can pick up and play and not have to learn about the battle system just to get into.

That's my take on it, anyway.

I went again and picked up Lego Star Wars 2 for the ps2 and Splinter Cell Double Agent, I thought that was a good find.

Speaking of the Guy Game I saw two copies for xbox at a GS in Kennewick, WA. I thought thye couldn't sell it anymore.
went today & got Metal Slug 4 & 5 and Guy Game for Xbox
Wait wait wait wait wait!!!! My one local BB had a used copy of The Guy Game marked for like $24.99, unless it's actually ringing up lower. Can anyone verify the price on this game, since I'd pick up a second copy if I could find it and grab either Outrun 2006 or Freedom Fighters for Xbox as the freebie.

And actually, Blockbuster is still selling it and has it in a couple stores here for rent, so maybe they just don't care anymore about their 'family' image. Plus, if it was in a GS, I am kinda shocked, since I think they're one of the places that won't even take in the AO San Andreas anymore.

Digital boobs are banned(except for God Of War II obviously), but a 'game' showing real ones is on the shelf. Double standard, I tell ya.

I saw Guy Game in my BB and it was $9.99 or something like that.

*edit* ok, it is $6.99.

the Xbox version of the guy game rings up as $6.99 but I'm not sure about the PS2 version as I haven't had them scan that one(labeled as $24.99).

Does anyone know if this deal is still active? I know the original post states through the 17th, but in the past BB has turned over their sales on Mondays.

See, I'm hoping it's actually PAST the 17th, since I'm off work for the next couple days, but sitting home waiting for a potential call from a place I filled an app out last week for a decent paying job around here. So, the only time I have to go to hit the stores is after 5-6pm and I need to make a return on TWO of the BOGO games, one which I traded in for a different game already, since the original didn't work on a friends Xbox.

Anyway, I'll have to recheck the Guy Game at the other BB where I looked at it last, I'll have them PC it to see if it rings up $6.99. That would be quite the bonus to find that and another game I wanted at that store and get that one for FREE.

Anyway, I'll let you all know if TGG rings up $6.99, since it WAS the Xbox version I saw at that BB.

went back and got Dreamfall (14.99) and Indigo prophecy (originall 9.99) for free. I heard that dreamfall is kinda like shenmue, so I guess it'll be worth the $15.

I think the answer is no. I might be wrong, but I don't believe so.

got

Panzeer Dragoon Orta...missing manual- $6.99
Lumines non-gh complete was 9.99 but somehow she gave me this one for free instead of the cheaper one...so total was $7.xx...very poor selection otherwise

I have gone to about 6 Blockbusters and bought games. I have found if you buy $14.99 games and some cheaper ones, you get the $14.99 ones taken off and pay for the cheaper one. This has happened everytime I got different priced games. I like this sale.

When they do this, is registers the first game at current price, and makes the second game scanned (no matter the price, so long as it's 14.99 or under) free.

I grabbed Freedom Fighters($9.99) and Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast($14.99) yesterday. I think I initially was getting the $14.99 game free, but they did a quick cancellation and redid the deal, since my receipt read that I got FF free.

Compared with my prior BOGO games from BB, these two were scratched up, but both were complete.

Oh well, second time I thought I was getting the more expensive game free and it turned out to NOT happen.

Thing is, I returned Sid Meier's Pirates and True Crime(either LA or NYC, I forget which) at the BB I got at least one of them from earlier. Then, the BB I bought the current 2 from had to call the original store and get my $15.89 credit 'transferred'.

I never did understand WHY in HELL they can't keep the credit just on the account and let the card/account hold onto it and be useful at ANY BBV store.

It's so ridiculous to have to have them call for me to get it transferred.

Oh well...I'll check the one other BBV locally that had The Guy Game today sometime, see if it IS really $6.99 and if it is, I'll grab that and another game if the BOGO is still on.

Oh and I learned that.....when the games on the preplayed shelf have the original type of case and not the BBV cases(with the hole in the bottom), it's a trade in game possibly. Good to know if true, since I'll definitely be checking for the original case type games anymore.

But both for $15 is still great. Especially as I'm assuming they're both xbox, and Outrun 2006 C2C is a valuable title on the xbox. Freedom Fighters is a good game, with a great soundtrack (jesper kyd). Hardish but fun.

Have you tried picking up a bottle of GameStops Disc Skip Fixer? I finally bought a bottle, as everytime I'd find a used game with scratches, I'd take it to the manager at my local EB and he'd polish the disc up for me. He does a great job, but I was starting to feel like a leech, so I bought the stuff myself. Does a nice job. Big scratches will still be there, but hairlines are just about erased.

That's bizarre. I always ask them to put my trade-ins on a giftcard (or store credit card or whatever it's called). This way no matter what store I trade into, I just build credit on that one card. And I can use that credit at any other BB/GR.

Are you saying that when you returned one of the games, they couldn't put it back on the card? I know they have a pretty unfriendly return policy, but that's just making more work for the store and inconviencing the customer big time. =\

CheapestGamer, I'm afraid to say I don't understand your obsession with The Guy Game. Every post I've read on this forum about it has come from you.

Actually, I had already swapped out one of the games from the BOGO that I bought from them last time, as it was originally Armed+Dangerous with Pirates and not the one True Crime game. I used the 'didn't work on my one friends system, who was getting these as a gift from me' shpeel. Thing is, that's what I said to swap out A+D for the TC game. :whistle2:X I have a feeling if I get buyers remorse on another 2 pack of games, I'm going to be SOL.

I never knew that the disc polishing stuff from GS worked, though I know my local GS employees wouldn't be so kind as to show me how well it works with a ummm demonstration on one of my current discs.

And Cranguy, I'm only 'obsessed' with it because I was under the impression that it was hard to find anymore(due to the controversy surrounding it) and that according to some on this thread, it's only selling for $6.99 @ BBV now. I paid around $17-18 for my copy, so if it WERE to be hard to find, I could Fleabay the $7 copy and maybe make enough to cover not only my $17-18 copy, but some of my BOGO games too.

You don't become a CAG without thinking about 'how can I get this ONE game which people say is hard to find to pay for some of my recent game purchases'.

I see. Now that I look on eBay, I'm surprised to find ended copies -- I've looked in the recent past and it looked like eBay was removing all listings for the game.

When I looked a few months ago, people were getting around it by giving the game sneaky titles (like listing under "That Guy Game").

Well good luck with the eBay police if you do decide to sell one.

Thanks, though someone on this very thread said they found one at a GS store, which I thought pulled a repeat of the San Andreas AO version and barred it from being traded in or sold at their stores. And, even funnier is as I mentioned before, that the local BBV's to me have copies for rent still. :whistle2:X

That goes against their 'family' image that they told me they had a while ago, I suppose.

Yep, my local BB had all the signs down and also stopped the b1g1 deal. Ashame, I had just gone in to pick up a few things that were recently added to the Xbox 360 BC list.

Deal is dead.

Yeah, as there were some games for higher than $19.99 I would've probably grabbed for the BOGO too. Between this and the usual yearly BBV clearance sale, this chain isn't too too bad to me anymore.

I just wish they had better stuff in better condition, though I will say most of their stuff is STILL better than some of the dreck from Gamestop. But, it would seem that rental games are looked down on people as disposable and treated as such by MANY.

I went to two local Blockbuster stores today and they still had the deal going. I bought 6 more games from this sale. Must have bought about 20 games total at about $7 each. Good deal.

LOL Gamestop is less than respectable? You don't say? They're up there with CC for bs practices, though CC definitely beats them due to the mass firing/layoff of long time employees still.

In case I didn't mention it prior, both of the games I got the other night look like ass though compared to the prior games I got from the BOGO.

Oh and a bit of info for those looking for either version of it for collections sake, the Xbox version of The Guy Game is $6.99, the PS2 version is $24.99.

I just got a kick out of the big difference between the versions, but alas, this sale is over. :whistle2:X
Must have bought about 20 games total at about $7 each. Good deal.
Dang, Sugar! Tell me they were 20 games you actually wanted, and not just 20 games you bought for the sake of taking advantage of the sale. Because if there's a GR out there that has (or in this case, had) 20 games on their shelves that are worth buying, there's hope for the rest of us.
In case I didn't mention it prior, both of the games I got the other night look like ass though compared to the prior games I got from the BOGO.
I'm telling you Friend, GameStop disc skip fixer.

Actually, I'm just getting around to fixing up some Karaoke Revolution Volumes 1-3's that I had picked up ages ago. All of them have scratches. And even though they tested perfectly (gad, my voice was gone for about three days after all that singing), they looked horrible. As soon as some other stuff of mine sells, I'm going to start putting those up on eBay. Because that little bottle really does make the discs look *so* much better.

Oh and a bit of info for those looking for either version of it for collections sake, the Xbox version of The Guy Game is $6.99, the PS2 version is $24.99.
That's so odd. I know some games like Fatal Frame on ps2 go for way more than xbox (despite xbox having better ports and/or content depending on which FF it was). Strange.
