CAG Arcade Stick Thread II: World Warrior

Hey dudes. I miss you guys. I just have no time for gaming, and even less time for stick building. I'm selling my excess parts. Heres the list.

3x OBSN-24 - Orange
4x PS-14-D-N - White
8x PS-14-K-N - White
1x Sanwa 8-way gate
4x LB-35 - White, Cyan, Black, Pink
1x LB-39 - White

You know how to get a hold of me if you want any of this stuff. They are just sitting here, never used.

Guys.. I'm scared.. last night in the middle of a match my dual modded TE randomly turned off and i got a "Please reconnect controller" message. I tried using the Xbox button to turn it back on but it only turned on for a second. I tried unplugging it but again.. it only turned on for a second. I tried rebooting the Xbox but the stick only worked until I got half-way through my first round... is my shit dead or what?

I'm gonna try it again when I get home tonight but I'm almost too scared to fuck it up any further. heh

An asian about to put a negro on his stick? Nice.

Try it on a PS3. If it works on PS3, then it's probably the 360 PCB. If it doesn't work on PS3, then it's probably the USB cable's connection to the Imp/Chimp/whatev.

That's my guess anyway. My vote is on 360 TE PCB.

Have you already opened it up to make sure all the cables are still intact?

And Phrosty is racist he is Russian there is a difference.

Nah not yet.. will soon though. Dead on about the Russian thing... just imagine Zangief, could Zangief possibly be racist?

Thanks for the tips guys.. I'll check it out later tonight. Also, Asians are definitely the most racist of the coloreds.

Btw.. I updated that torrent of all the GGPO games.. the latest game added to the list: Samurai Shodown 5 Special. What a waste...

So, I just tried it out and it's still spazzing out... guess I have to open it and check the cables.

I took a couple pics in hopes that someone here had kene eyes.

Are you asking me if it works on PS3? I haven't tried it yet but I will tonight...

(While testing it on Xbox I got too enchanted by the game itself and ended up using my shitty Tekken stick instead).

I haven't tried it on PS3 yet but I think I figured out what's wrong with it anyway...

I'm fucked, aren't I? I guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to solder it back in place.

Okay, I feel like I am trying to hunt down a unicorn at this point. I am looking for more info on the nubytech street fighter controllers that came out in 2006 in the uk. These seem to be just like the ones we got here just theirs are Evil Ryu, Cammy, Blanka, Sagat. On one shady looking site it said only 10k of these where made.

One of the bigger things I am trying to figure out is if they come in the same box that ours did, if they don't than I do not want them. Also if anyone has any ideas on where I might be able to track them down. I have tried all the normal places for awhile ( uk/ usa ebay, uk//usa amazon, the larger import shops ) with no luck now for some time.
That was very helpful, thank you so much. Anyone else?
Put the wires back where they go, solder them, and teach whoever glued it poorly to pay more attention to detail. (They were probably soldered on badly too, unless somehow they got yanked on.)
You might have to remove the old glue, which you can do by melting it with the soldering iron or something else that generates heat.

Maybe I'm crazy, but the first four pics you can't see any of the soldered wires loose, but the last (single) pic the wire is clearly sticking out?

Well I finally graduated from my Hori EX 2. Caved on the $99 TE stick sale on amazon last week and picked one up. Hori is on ebay and I got the TE last night. Even just after 30 min of play it feels like a peice of equipment of drastically improved quality.

Can't wait to play more!

Also thinking about doing an art mod. Any words of wisdom from those of y'all who have modded your TE sticks?

Hey guys, what is the recommended seimitsu stick for madcatz fightsticks? I really like the stick in my Hrap Ex Se. I'm not a big fan of Seimitsu buttons tho...

I dunno about recommended, but I got the LS-32-01, all I had to do was take it apart and turn the metal plate so it would go into the TE. Turning the metal plate is really easy btw. My terminology might be wrong though.

Good cal, Distgfx. Seimitsu LS-32-01 is the exact stick to most easily put in a Madcatz arcade stick's housing. You can use others, but 1 - they may require some dremeling, and 2 - you'd have to solder to microswitches instead of just using the existing stick's wire harness.

I believe you are looking for the wireless ones and I think those got canned, I was looking for them myself and gave up. I have never seen one in person or seen anyone that got them.

BTW markman is there any way of getting the stock art sticker that goes on the TE?? Mine is scratched to shit and im trying to refurb my stick, im ordering a bezel since that got damaged too from opening the top too much. I know people would say just do custom art with a plexi blah blah blah but I like my stuff looking stock but different on the inside, its dual wireless .

I think you may be right, I have a friend in the UK who said he would look for them, but he told me he has never even heard of them so.. sweet.

Does anyone know what size screws and nuts to use for the TE? Mine fell out and I need to replace them.

All that swapping from 4-way to 8-way and back just screwed something up...

Here is my black TE S modded. I put in a Seimitsu LS 32 01, and changed the button scheme to match the classier PS3 color scheme. I put on a white bat top just to try it out.

Edit:picture didnt upload, ill have it up shortly.

Thanks uraizen for warning of needing to take apart the stick to fit, it was pretty simple at least.

Thanks. Got a couple more questions.
I just got a TE. How long is the warranty? Also, how much do the octagon gates cost?

Doesn't matter how long the warranty is is you're opening up the stick to put in an octagonal gate as you'll void the warranty by opening it up.

I've linked you to the Lizard Lick website already which has the price for octagonal gate.

Oh. I had the site, but I wasn't sure which one though.
About the warranty, if it was short, I was going to just suck it up with the square one until the warranty was over then get an octagon. Thanks for the help though.

Deleted segment from Ian Cofino's I GOT NEXT Documentary on the fighting game scene/culture.

The segment is about....

sticks.

Those new bezels and dust/shaft covers are awesome, MarkMan. Might want to talk to the phone customer service reps about bitching people out for opening the top of the sticks though, as that would be required to install the bezels.

That looks pretty tight. I hate that MS is making the buttons on newer sticks match the colors of their controllers, it looks ugly. I think I would have went with a black bat top, but to each his own.

@ Markman

Thanks man, I loved that documentary and I'm glad I got to see more of it.

Hopefully the guys who were considering octagonal gateways here on CAG see that and they stay square.

MarkMan that deleted scene was pretty awesome. I can't wait for the full cut of I Got Next.

I've been having a strange issue with my X360 MVC2 TE. I get voice chat audio through the TV but nothing on the headset and people can't hear me. The issue seems to solve itself if I unplug the usb then put it back in but it's happened twice so far.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

If for some odd reason it turns out to be the TE microphone jack's PCB or the headset adapter or clip, I have 2 of them lying around my apartment. It doesn't sound like that'd be the cause of your troubles, but let me know.
