Does anyone (meaning Markman) know what kind of gates are in the PS2 Neo Geo sticks? I have a couple downstairs and I'm tempted to bring one up for some old KoF/Last Blade action.
The Exar sticks have square gates...

Been looking for some sort of alternative to buying a stick for 360 on ebay. After watching a few videos, I am seriously considering buying the Wii HRAP stick and a wired 360 controller and soldering the connections to the 360 controller. Not looking for a professional quality stick, just something to learn the buttons and get used to the style. That's the cheapest way for me to do it (I can get all the pieces from GS with credit I got for free). Anyone advise against this?

If you waited this long for a 360 stick, why not wait just a little bit longer till MC sends out more of the SFIV sticks? MM has already said they are fixing the problems that came up with the first batch, and you should not have any trouble getting them at retail once they hit.

On a side note, play asia needs to hurry up and start taking preorders for the Death Smiles stick.
Lizardlick Order Update Page - You can see from here what order dates they are currently processing.

I placed an order with them on March 4 but canceled after a week once I heard about the JLF shortage.
thanks for that link.

DAM FEB 22 LOL geez

Just a quick question - does anyone make an adapter that would let me use my PS3 HRAP3 (USB) on my newly acquired Dreamcast? I've seen adapters for the other direction (Dreamcast --> USB). If one exists, any that are recommended?
^^ There is nothing of the sort. You'd need to make a project box/converter for that.
Thanks - I figured it would need to be a project, but thought I'd ask before breaking out the soldering iron.

(believe it or not, I have this saved as a canned response for situations like these)...

Open the stick up...

Once you expose the underside of the top panel you'll see something like this under the lever portion.

Use a flathead screwdriver to keep the center of the stick firmly in place while you manually screw the ball top from the top side of the panel. You will be able to ensure it sticks on tight this way.
The ball top keeps coming off my joystick :(
Time to open up your stick and tighten the ball top.

EDIT - Looks like Markman beat me to it.

I have been doing that about every 40 mins >.<

Just looked in my box of parts... maybe I'm using a balltop that isn't supposed to be on this stick?

Did you tighten it with a flathead/screw on method?

Also what type of stick/balltop?

Yeah I did use a flathead to keep the shaft still and turn the ball. The stick is an LS-33. That should take OBSF-30 right? I don't remember what color came with the stick, but it looks like the spare black ball I have is a little smaller than the spare bubble top I have.

OBSF-30 is a button. The bubble top should fit the LS-33(or any Seimitsu model and Sanwa JLF) without any problems, since it is made by Seimitsu.
That shit is ghetto fab. I love it!:)
OBSF-30 = buttons.

The Seimitsu LS-33 sticks are the same, it should screw on tightly. Are you sure the balltop is coming off? Or is it just spinning?

EDIT: yea what SmallWind said...
Um craigs list, amazon maybe? Perhaps post on some of the fighting game sites. Are you just looking for cases to use or..?
Ive posted "wtb" in different places. People want like $70+shipping for a used t5 stick. Thats too much, especially since im gonna gut it anyways. Well some of them, i have alot of projects i need to do for friends and stuff.

I don't know how much your looking to spend but there are places that just sell cases, or I guess you could just gut the mayflash stick.

Didn't get my Sanwa buttons and Seimitsu bubbletop from Lizardlick yet, but here is my finished art on my HRAP3. My cousin Chuck at Timberline signs put this on the face plate for me, and it has a sweet glossy coating, and looks the shit. http://www.timberlinesigns.com/home.html

I'll post another shot when I get my shite from lizardlick.

Finally finished my HRAP 3. I added a custom 1/16" Plexiglass cover which allows me to change art whenever i like. Finished off with all Sanwa Buttons, a Limited Sanwa Meshball, and a GT-Y Octagonal gate.

Is anyone familiar with the Hori Fighting Stick PS(ps1)? Somebody wants to know if its easily sanwa modable or if there will be alot of work.

There will be some work involved.

There were two Hori Fighting Stick PS models though... is yours the V1 or V2?

The V1 is like the Fighting Stick SS, the V2 is like the real arcade series (Tekken 3 stick). The V2 is a lot easier to work with due to more space.

Hmm, ill have to ask the guy which version he has.
Also, same guy wants me to mod a Green Goblin for him, looks easy enough besides the fact ill have to widen the button holes. Or i can always cheat and put some korean crown buttons in. Do you know if the pcb is common ground or not? He wants me to dual mod it. If not ill throw a ds ps pcb instead.
But if it is cg and i can dual mod it, what all will be involved to keep the functionality of the VMU? Most GG threads are dead or they threw out the stock pcb and used something else.
Thanks

Man, that might be a good stick except that the location of the Back and Start buttons is totally stupid. Also note that they have 0 feedback, but maybe they are legit.
Lol I meant LB-35 :p

It is coming right off. My buddy had it roll under the tv on him earlier :p
You should hold the balltop tightly and turn the screwdriver. That will give you better leverage.

Hi all. I had a few questions on the HRAP EX if you guys could help. Basically was wondering if its a good stick out of the box? or does it need to be modded in someway like change out the buttons or something?? I was going to order at arcadeshock for $130 though got to wait until july. might also try to get the SE/TE if I get lucky and see it somewhere restocked.

Just found a TE stick last night. How hard would it be to put in an octagon gate and bat top?

Not sure which type I would prefer, but would like to try both.
Just found a TE stick last night. How hard would it be to put in an octagon gate and bat top?
Not hard, just need a flat head screwdriver for switching out tops. For switching out the gates you just need to press some tabs on the sides on the current gate.

I'm curious about the plexiglass. Where did you get it done? Do they do work for the TE?
Fictional...where did you find it?
Found it at a gamecrazy. Just got lucky calling the only 2 in my area. Manager said one randomly showed up with a shipment on Tuesday.

I'll pm you or send a message over live if I see any online at retail

Ok here is the first (is this the first? please correct me if i'm wrong but I haven't seen another one) wireless PS3 Tournament Edition using the AxisAdapter. I kept full functionality of the Home button as well as the led lights on the MadCatz PCB to mimic the sixaxis led lights so that i'm able to tell when the thing is charging and what not, work took about 4 hours but everything works perfectly. The sixaxis charges through the stock USB cable so the storage compartment comes in handy for storing the cable. I will change the artwork later for now im just glad i got everything to work.

Watch it in action:

MountainDew that is not possible (without devising a custom PCB) because the DualShock3/SixAxis PCBs are not common ground.

cthulhu board is the best route if you want to dual pcb, its a space saver as well, the TE case might seem big, but there is barely any room in there, i had to hack part of mine away to accommodate the pcbs.

A member on SRK was making custom HRAP Plexi covers.

zew, any reason why you're selling your HRAP EX?

Trying to cash in early and just get another one down the road?

Or do you want an HRAP EX SE instead ;) ?

I really want a TE. And I'm hoping/praying they'll come back in stock soon since I've heard the rumors of an April restock, so I'm hoping that proves to be true.
