CAG Call of Duty 4 Night [Wednesday, 8pm EST]

What's with these CoD4 server problems? I had some difficulty last night. I eventually got into a few games, but it took at least 4 or 5 tries. I haven't played yet tonight. I hope to get a few games in. Do we have a clan? I play almost entirely Domination - mostly because it involves more than just reaction time. I'm half-way decent at it. :)
 
Bottom line is these sever problems are some Grade A bullshit. Next patch better fix these problems quick because they really take away from having a good time.
 
I see that PC users have the ability to make their on maps.. I wonder if we can get a couple of those user created maps?!
In addition to the official map packs.
 
I don't really have a problem connecting so much as they need to revamp the invite system. Unless you and your buddies are in the lobby area the chance of your invite working are minimal. There should be options for join your buddies game, or maybe a little notice pops up on the screen when you get an invite. Something needs to happen. I spent half of my time last night trading invites with a friend but never once got to play with him.

EDIT: I must be out of touch but what's with the people with colored names/ps graphics on the psn name?

Talked to someone with a colored name tag. He said that he used a hex editor on the PC and transfered it to PS3 with a USB drive. Didn't get more details than that. Not sure it's worth the effort.
 
Anyone interested in forming a team for Domination? I love this playlist and I find it's even more enjoyable with a team that works together. I'm average at it but I help more than hurt (most of the time....). My PSN ID is phoenix_arnoud.
 
All right, I cannot resist, I told my parents to pick the game up at Meijer this week (since I'm away from home). I'm going to give the game a shot and I'll probably receive it next week. I'll take a look at this thread and figure out what I'll do with the clan when I eventually take over.

I don't think there is a need to take over the clan. We basically all know that we if we want to play during the week the meet up time is 9PM EST or just a little after.

The invite system in COD 4 is kinda iffy also. What I do is see who's on and wait a few minutes to see if I get an invite, if I get one I'll join their game, if not I'll play a match then try again.

Either way it's about time you joined the rest of us Mana!\\:D/ And Jest311, sorry about stopping early on ya, but my baby got up and after the second match I had to quit to take care of her.

The bad news is with me taking over, occasionally CoD4 will switch nights. Mostly because there is occassionally another night some are more likely to play, and there are some other games I might have utilize the Saturday slot (like Warhawk and Burnout). Most of the time, CoD4 will be Saturday.

Lag was awful tonight. They've got to fix this. It's impossible to play when you're lagging so badly you don't even hear those mounted machine guns going off right next to you before you get mowed down.

The online is filled with so many problems a patch needs to come ASAP. It gets super aggrivating.

Ah. I love pinning a team down to their only flag. :D Showdown earlier tonight, we had the team down to only "A" and we kept storming the flag. Sure, I racked up a lot of deaths, but it ensured a win. :) This is why I like Domination - strategy trumps K/D.

I'll be buying this soon to play with you guys. Rented this for a party even though I wasn't interested, ended up really liking the multiplayer.

My favorite is my assassin class that's got a silenced skorpion, UAV Jammer, extra stun grenades, and steady aim. I can run around without fear of being put on radar. In fact, I love it when I hear the enemy UAV is airborne because enemies drop their guard from rear attacks.

Hunting snipers with this class is really fun too, in one map which was set in soviet block housing the two teams were basically in a camp fest on either side of the courtyard. All I did was slink my way to a side entrance offing people as they went and they were none the wiser. Racked up 7 kill streak just as they caught on and called in a helicopter, then ran outside where it shot up the people chasing me.

haha. no way.... I've just started WoW back up a few days ago. I've been on CoD waiting on the long flights in WoW... What server do you play on?

for some reason, no one can accept my invites. So whenever you see an invite from me, it's just a signal that says, "hey. invite me?" :)
 
Arggh. I just played the game of my life on Domination (Strike). I was 29/17 K/D and I had the highest score on either team by 50 points. And I still lost. Damn it. What a shitty team I had. I need to get a headset so I can tell the idiots where to go so I don't have to capture and defend the entire map myself. :lol:

I've got to add some of you guys. My friends list in the barracks is empty.

I wish there was a website for PSN like there is for XBL to manage friends lists.
 
I've got a questions.. Besides L3 is there another button that can be pressed so that you can hold your breathe? For some reason I cannot hold down L3 and keep characters body still so that I can aim properly w/ the sniper rifle.

I think there is options to change the controller layout.
 
but not for holding breath. i wish while you were zoomed in you could reassign the special grenade button. but you do get used to L3

Nice, Mana. For those of you who know me from the Warhawk clan I will also be joining the ranks of those who own COD4 very soon (Friday night actually, although I probably won't play it until Saturday so I'll be a complete and utter n00b. COD4 will also basically be the first console FPS I've ever owned and until Portal came along the last FPS I played was like Jedi Knight II).

So I guess I'll be joining the games this weekend. Just keep an eye out for Thelonicon for super easy kills.

Yeah those were some awsome games. That flag match was probably one of the best games I've played. It was pretty intense. That TDM with 2pac was something else, lol.

I've removed over 30 people from my buddy list before), and I've gotten over 100 friend requests before (More than 70% from CAG). I might have room soon, but haven't decided I'll cancel a friend requests and/or whether more people will be removed (certain people, who probably know who they are, are 100% safe on my list, like the post I quote next).

I may not play until the weekend because I gotta finish soldering wires to 4 more boards. And after doing it I get a massive headache and don't feel like doing anything.

Lol, people will get even easier kills on me. I'm pretty bad at FPS, despite playing all three Halo's, Rainbow Six 3, Killzone, Resistance, PDZ, etc.

Can we move the official CoD4 night to like Tues or Wed? I like to spend the weekend nights with my family or out with friends. What do you guys think?
 
If you guys are on regularly add me to friends list. js, sorry for just taking off a few nights ago, I hit cancel or something accidentally while building a new class. I don't have class tomorrow afternoon if you want to play from around 10 to 4.

The reason is most people are available during the weekends because we don't have to get up for work/school the next day. The other reason weekdays are difficult is because timezone conflict (Some people have to go to bed by 10 or 11pm on the east coast, while people may not get off of work until 8 or 9 on the west coast).

Also, most of us don't have social lives and want to spend our weekends playing video games to get some socializing in. ;) I'm just kidding.
