I actually have no idea. I was at my friends house when that pic was taken, lol. I'm guessing it's the year when the Sox won the W.S.

I'm missing the nuances of each, apparently. If scene = trend whores, and poseurs were (are?) those who took on false identities/pretenses (almost exclusively in the form of a fashion trend/fad), they seem the same to me.

Perhaps

poseur = degrassi
scene = degrassi: the next generation (or whatever the new one's called)
 
I always saw them as the same, but scene is what the kids are doing nowadays with their eyeliner and tight jeans and "exclusive" local bands. What do I know? I don't give a shit about anything and I could listen to RATT all day.
 
I always thought scene was more into the image of the genre of music and poseur was just someone pretending to like certain bands or be a certain label ("hell yeah I'm metal! I love me some Korn!") Who knows.
 
Scene kids are pathetic because they buy/do what everything thinks is cool. They are the trendy American on the treadmill of consumerism going no where fast.

Poseurs are even more pathetic because they aspire to be scene, yet fail.
