Damn, I wanted to make the title full of acronyms.

Recent Fighting Game News:

- World Heroes Anthology (PS2) available in stores NOW!
- New Street Fighter IV character unveiled, El Fuerte.
- Battle Fantasia (360, PS3) ships May 29th in Japan, US release soon after (with more modes).
- Tekken 6 Version A99 will be the final update for the arcade game.
- Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE to receive an update patch soon.
- EVOLUTION 2008 tournament games announced, MVC2, 3S, T5DR, STHD, SSBB, CVS2.
- Beta for Super Street Fighter II TURBO HD Remix will be included with Xbox Live Arcade download of Commandos 3.

Random Fighting Game Related Story: The arcade near my girlfriend's place randomly got MVC2 in a showcase cab last weekend. Problem? The managers there are insistent on keeping the damage scaling way high. What does that mean? One AHVP does even more damage than it usually does. Annoying.

Also, what the heck Chac? You won't pay $30 for Arcana Heart (US release) but you'll drop $60 on XX Accent Core Plus? Or did you get the JAP release originally and just getting the Append disc.

Still either price is way too much for gameplay fixes that should've been done ages ago. That's right Arc Systems, you heard me.

Random Fighting Game Related Story: At a Square-Enix FG tournament, during the Smash Melee tournament I tried to do one of those wavedashes to catch the ledge. Well, I missed the ledge and did an air evade off the stage so I was like "NOOOOO" and kinda threw the controller down and it unplugged and I made quite a scene. =X

Man, Arcana Hearts is lame. It's so stupid-feeling. It's the retardest fighting game ever. Or at least in a while. I'm getting the complete version of GGXX coz I dont want to hang onto the original release.
 
Random Fighting Game Related Story: I was at this ticket broker place playing Mortal Kombat 1 way back in the day (like, when the game first came out.) I played with the thugs from the city over in the "bad" part of town (not bad at all actually, but the rich white suburb people considered it bad.) Some dude farted loudly while we were playing and then he goes "damn, that smells like chicken." A second later, I caught a whiff. it smelled exactly like chicken.

Especially compared to what my story would've been: that back in the day, I would be playing SFII at the college arcade and there would be these odd cosplaying foos challenging me. One guy had a comb prop and would do the Guile style after winning a round. Nut jobs.

Preference, Stick Or Pad?: I'm partial to the Saturn pad, but I love a good stick.
Random Fighting Game Related Story: I destroyed Mace : The Dark Ages in one credit in the arcade with Lord Deimos. It was easier than the N64 version. Not that good of a story, but I'm drawing blanks right now.

Random Fighting Game Related Story: First time I played SFII, Picked Blanka, had no idea what I was doing, button mashed and beat the "#1" player at the local Circle K. He was pissed. Continued to play and learn moves and still beat him all day long.

That's stupid--I see Famitsu scans posted everywhere all de time. Bummer MM, that totally sucks. :p

It's not like Famitsu is a worldwide publication with US retail distribution in English--it's only imported, so why do they care, unless the big 3 and or developers are complaining about info leaks? Ah, it still doesn't make sense.

Makes sense. I just can't see myself personally buying any more versions of that game. I own XX Slash and XX Accent Core. I hope that will finally be it.

Random Fighting Game Related Story: I was playing CvS2 in the arcade, just trying to beat the game. During the fight before Akuma/Rugal, someone challenges me to a game. I beat him, then he challenges me again. I beat him again, then he puts down ANOTHER quarter. Immediately after he picks his character, 3 other guys crawl out from under the shadows, and put up their quarters. I get pissed off, then throw the match. Isn't there some sort of code, or policy among people to you know, ask before playing?

Anyone watch some of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix footage over at Gametrailers? I just watched one clip, but the two things that stuck out immediately were:

1) Ryu bobs way too fast while standing.

2) This game needs like... double the frames of animation that it has now.

It really does seems sorta like a Flash game at this point, which was my biggest fear.

Yeah, it was weird. Not so sure about this game anymore...

well, if it doesn't turn out, at least theres like a bajillion other fighters coming out.
 
It's the right speed, it looks like it was being played at Turbo Speed 3.

Also if they added more frames it wouldn't be a perfect port of the game system... :(

But yea, it would be wonderful if they could make it look more fluid, but alas this is not possible :(

damn... it's just jarring that like for kicks, there's approximately... no animation. It's just a picture of a kick with nothing leading up to it. I know that adding frames would keep it from being a perfect port, but it'd be nice to at least see that in the remix mode that they're (I assume) still doing.
