Congratulations to the entire CAG community as we beat our goal of $40,000, raising a whopping $42,810! Thanks to all who participated including our great corporate sponsors Play-Asia, Telltale Games (Tales of Monkey Island), Capcom (Dark Void), and Blueberry Muffin Tops Cereal.

In 2008, CAGs raised over $32,000 (up from $27K in 2007) for Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity. This year, let's see if we can hit $40,000 before the year is through.

For every $5 donated via PayPal through the CAG ChipIn system, you will receive one entry into a raffle to win a $500 Amazon Gift Certificate or other great prizes! Last year, the CAG Community donated some really cool and generous prizes and I'm sure the tradition will continue this year. I expect the prize list to grow and grow until the very end of the fundraiser.

You must donate through the ChipIn system or your raffle entry will not register. Use any of the ChipIn links in this post or the widget below. Just click the "ChipIn" button to donate. Donations are accepted via PayPal and go directly to Child's Play. ChipIn tracks our donations as a group, but the money is immediately deposited into Child's Play's PayPal account.

Hey, I'm in again this year. Love the site and the Child's Play Charity. I have one question. Are they selling the Child's Play T-shirts this year?
 
In for $250.00.

Games have always been a large part of my life and I've been so blessed as of late (a loving g/f of nearly 4 years, full-time professional work as an aerospace engineer, and fully paid graduate school) that I can definitely chip in a decent amount.

Sorry to spout, but I love what Child's Play does and I love that the CAG community makes a nice dent in the final count.

Is there a way to pin the original news story for this on the front page? I know everybody is going to have this in their sigs etc but eventually the original story is going to get bumped off the front page.

Would probably help the final amount go up if it stays as front page news.

Well, I have my own reasons for contributing. Recently, my 8-year-old cousin, whom I'm helping my parents raise, had a stint in the hospital. My mom had been staying with him, and she momentarly left the room, only to come back to find a "big machine" (her words) in there. She goes rushing in, only to find it's a PS2 mobile station.

Anyway, the in-hospital game system helped ease his nerves. I haven't made my donation yet, but I plan to at least match what I did last year ($60). In addition, I have pledged 2 prize boxes for the raffle, and I plan to pick up some additional stuff on Black Friday to bolster those packs, and perhaps add a 3rd.
 
Kept forgetting to donate last year. I went ahead and did $5.01 now and will donate more later on when I have more money in my Paypal account.

Always a great cause! :)

Well, I donated 50 bucks cause I didn't spend as much as I thought I would on Black Friday. I probably will donate more in the coming weeks.

I just remembered I won a prize from this the first time we did this. Man how the years fly by.

I'll be sending in about $15-20 in the next week or so for ChipIn as well :)
 
My extended family decided to do charitable donations this year instead of gift exchanges, so another $50 to Child's Play!

Cheapy, any thoughts about further publicizing this? I have a feeling once it dropped off the first screen on the front page, it was out of sight, out of mind.
 
Lots of people have been asking for this to be pinned to the front page Cheapy... Don't you think it's about time? I know a lot of people have short term memory out there.
 
Some idiot on eBay just purchased my PS3 Netflix Instant Streaming disk for $15! I don't even have a Playstation 3 right now lol. This money will be donated immediately :)

So far I will have donated Street Fighter IV PC and $15, I will possibly be throwing in another $5-10 if I get the chance to later :p
 
Man, I wish I could donate...... but with how tight my budget is with this economy it's hard.... especially when you are unemployed
