Update: Congratulations, we've raised $52,953! Winners have been posted below.

Original Post:
Last year, CAGs raised over $49,000 for Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity. This year, I'm setting the target at $50,000.

For every $5 donated via PayPal through the CAG ChipIn system, you will receive one entry into a raffle to win 1 of 2 $500 Amazon gift cards and other great prizes. Every year, the CAG Community donates some really cool and generous prizes and I expect to get some corporate donations too. I expect the prize list to grow and grow until the very end of the fundraiser.

You must donate through the ChipIn system by 12/31/11 or your raffle entry will not register. Just click the "ChipIn" button to donate. Donations are accepted via PayPal and go directly to Child's Play. ChipIn tracks our donations as a group, but the money is immediately deposited into Child's Play's PayPal account and never passes through CAG in any way.

$5 tossed in the pool. Saved me a lot of money this year, I can support one of your fundraising efforts.

Not sure what the "prize" donations are; E3 exclusives, rare autographs, art prints, meet-and-greets? I would gladly give a ton of unopened collector's stuff if I knew the parameters. Child's Play is, perhaps, my favorite charity but I would rather throw gaming stuff than money. That goes for any charity.

Sucks being poor. I try to donate what I can (just did $5) but then I see what other people have donated and boy do I feel lousy.

Hoping to get at least another $25 donated by the end of December.

Don't you dare feel lousy. The amount you donate isn't important. Doing what you can is! You did a great thing by donating and it makes it even more charitable that it's something that you probably can't afford to do.
Thanks for helping!

Do donations for prizes have to be gaming-related or can they be movie-related too? If so, I have several original film cells from E.T. that are in a really nice frame. It is a limited edition and numbered. I'm more than willing to donate it as a prize to help out.

This x 100,000,000. I'm a big believer in the idea that somebody who is struggling donating a little bit is a much bigger show of heart than somebody with means donating more. It is the deepest and sincerest form of charity.

Thanks for helping![/QUOTE]Couldn't agree more. Absolutely nothing to feel lousy about, 4thHorseman. Every donation helps. Can you imagine if every single registered CAG kicked in $5.00? Never feel lousy about doing a good thing.

I'll throw in my usual $100 at the end of the week when I get paid. I'll probably also throw in an unopened Zelda: Skyward Sword Wiimote Edition as a prize. I have a bunch of Steam games to give away, however I think I'll be doing my own contest for that.

I haven't donated before (well, technically I have through Humble Indie bundle purchases), but I really like the idea behind this charity, and this year will be the first time I directly support Child's Play.

I think it's awesome that the CAG community, who are, let's be honest, a bunch of cheap asses, can get together and raise hopefully $50,000 for a worthy cause.

In for a donation!

If you guys didn't know it, you can actually go to Child's Play directly, and donate things to a hospital of your choice as well

I do this every year for OSU Medical center, because they saved my son's life.

Most locations keep a wish list up, highlighting the things that they actually need, such as let's say an extra copy of SF4 3D or another 3ds so that the kids there can actually play together.

I think amazon is still facilitating a gifting system for this purpose too.

Been waiting for this. I will be chipping in soon and I will take a look to see if there is some things I can donate for prizes as well. Maybe a Wii Shovelware prize pack!

I'm going to donate to cag child's play tomorrow... but thanks for the heads up about the hospital wishlist. Had some extra amazon credit and sent some gifts over to my local children's hospital!

Hey as this being my first year on cag I'm down with this ! Now I gotta think of a donation or two and also get some raffles. Game on cag community as that amazon gift card is mine (at least I hope so lol) :)

This! A little disappointed that this thread isn't 20+ pages by now. Heck even if you are flat broke I'm sure you can scrounge up at least a buck to kick in. If everyone just contributes what they can, this is a large community and at the end of the day it will add up. In for 20 as soon as I get back to a connection I trust .>

It's awesome to see this back again for another year; thanks Cheapy. I'm in for $100.

I encourage everyone to donate something. It doesn't have to be a large sum of money, every little bit counts and will be put to a great cause. One testimonial puts it best:

"And, we also understand that smiles are as important as medicine. That is a reality that Child’s Play Charity is doing for our kids - adding a smile to their faces at a time when it is needed the most."

Just donated ten bucks! Thank you again Cheapy for doing this each year! Hopefully this year we'll reach the goal (I have faith in us)

+ $50, love donating to this every year.

Bought some video games off of the Amazon wishlist for the Children's Hospital in the Bronx too.
Always happy to help out a little.

Couldn't donate as of now, but contributed a 400 MSP code, as well as Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 (360, sealed) for the prize pool. Keep giving, everyone, what an awesome cause!

Put in $20. Plus donating Rhythm Heaven (DS), Pokemon Ranger Something Something (DS), Cranium Kabookii (Wii), Persona 3 FES (PS2), Dawn of Mana (PS2), Bioshock 2 (PS3), Dreamcast Collection (360), Mass Effect 2 (360), and a pair of Tritton AX180 headphones. All were cheap ass finds from forum posts.

I've got a lot of new prize donations from CAGs to post tomorrow. Also, working on getting some corporate donations.

Can you donate through Chip In with a prepaid gift card (say American Express or Visa)? I have one laying around and thought about using it to donate.

I believe so, yes. You just have to add it to PayPal.
