Update: Congratulations, we've raised $52,953! Winners have been posted below.

Original Post:
Last year, CAGs raised over $49,000 for Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity. This year, I'm setting the target at $50,000.

For every $5 donated via PayPal through the CAG ChipIn system, you will receive one entry into a raffle to win 1 of 2 $500 Amazon gift cards and other great prizes. Every year, the CAG Community donates some really cool and generous prizes and I expect to get some corporate donations too. I expect the prize list to grow and grow until the very end of the fundraiser.

You must donate through the ChipIn system by 12/31/11 or your raffle entry will not register. Just click the "ChipIn" button to donate. Donations are accepted via PayPal and go directly to Child's Play. ChipIn tracks our donations as a group, but the money is immediately deposited into Child's Play's PayPal account and never passes through CAG in any way.

Same here

Thats awesome....and just goes to show no matter what you chipped in, it couldn't be done without everyone doing their part

i wasn't, only because we did the same thing last year.

Never underestimate CAGs

Great job CAGs!

The key is to keep the Child's Play news story at the top, when it got dropped down a couple of spots people probably didn't notice it.

got $100 in to push that over too, CAGs never cease to amaze me, for being prided on complaining over $1 shipping or waiting to buy games for months to save $10.. when it comes time to help out others, the wallets fly open like Paris Hilton's vagina at a Night Vision Camera Convention.

Great job CAG!

I've been lurking on this site for a little while now and figured now was as good of a time as any to sign up. So I signed up a couple days ago and also sent in a donation of $15. It's great to see a community come together like this to help out others.

I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but just because you reached a goal doesn't mean it's over. I figured this would be a good way to start off the New Year, so I put in what I could.

Wow, we actually made it! Hopefully, it's only one prize per person. Would be funny to see one person win a bunch of them, though.

stupid question i was out most of this week at parents etc.. that and waiting for my paycheck to hit to do a donation. is it too late to get in on the raffle with donations now???

I believe Cheapy said as long as you can donate through the chipin then yes you are still being entered into the raffle.

So the average donation was just over $23 per person? That surprises me somewhat. I'll throw in another $5 just to go over the average for myself.

Edit: I think it's particularly good of CAG to surpass $50,000 simply because this is CAG (a site full of cheap asses) and because of this shit economy. It's good that over 2100 people here have looked past that and given to a great cause. For me personally it helps keep my faith in humanity when I sometimes really don't have much.

Kind of weird, the usual humble indie bundle average is about $5.50, and you get games with it! Here you are buying raffle entries, so it's random (and unlikely) you will get anything at all, yet the donations are much higher.

Only able to donate $5. Wife is still without a job, lord knows we're hoping to find her something this month.

As I mentioned above, my wife is without a job (and has been since May of 2011), but I still felt $5 towards this great cause is better than me spending that at Tim Horton's or something unnecessary...and considering the economy and the fact that CAG met that $50,000 goal, it too gives me hope for humanity :) If I could contribute more to meet that $23 average I gladly would.

Came on to see if we had made it and extatic that we did. To ring in the new year I threw in another $5.

not sure how you tell if you got raffle tickets for this etc.. but donated 25$ to help out. i know its not much but its my first year donating and i wanted to help all i could. its been a rough year for me and gf but what i do have im very thankful for.

anyone know how you even see if you made the raffle drawing etc.. no clue how to check anything at all. this is my first year doing this and i did it kinda late due to paycheck coming in late etc..

The chipin does the system as far as I know, and it's $5/entry so you should have 5 entries.

Very pleased to see the CAG community hit this goal! Awesome job! Hoping for a little luck now & win something/anything. I love prizes =D but overall just happy we did our part!

Bonus Round III: Super Final Bonus Round Turbo DX
Wanted to post this this afternoon, but ended up out of town... Anyone who donates $50 or more between now and the end of the fundraiser (whenever that is - via the Chip-in widget) will be entered into a random drawing for one of two random Mario-themed prizes ($15 value). The prize isn't a game, so no system required. Same as before, quote this post to enter - doesn't change your raffle entries. Two winners![/QUOTE]

Just a reminder - the need doesn't end just because the goal was reached - anyone who donates $50+ through the widget, for however long it allows it - is still eligible to enter!
