I'm debating if I'm going to try and join tonight, but if I dont could someone answer me one thing.
WTF is Cannonball Run? I know of the movies, but it's been forever since I've seen them. I'm assuming an all out race?

Cannonball Run is a GTA Race (A race where you can get on foot and steal other vehicles) where you start on foot with no weapons. There are five different checkpoints and the goal is to get to each checkpoint by whatever means possible. And you have to set your own GPS marker to show your way to the next checkpoint. It's really fun, and if you know the city well you can take shortcuts.

I ditched my fire truck right away.
In my opinion, we should never do GTA races with specialty vehicles.

Yes...
I tried doing the TMK fix again this week, this time just tapping the button once to "disconnect" instead of completely turning off the headset. And it still messed up.

HAHA! That was hilarious. He was probably expecting a car to come through when he saw me getting near, but I was in a F@ggio! I guess I was too small of a target, so I swerved out of the way and one of the civilians, driving a car, gave me a little nudge in the direction of the finish line. :lol:

I just remembered a few funny moments from tonight's games...
-mguiddy driving over my car just after I hit the wall of that building... We both got out of our cars, and I won the gunfight there.:lol:
-In cops n' crooks, as I got out of our burning car (we were the crooks), I was shooting at metaly while I was on fire!
metaly was the sole survivor that round, and in spectator mode I saw him climb on top of a burning car, catching himself on fire while shooting the car, and dying... :lol:
-The beginning of the Sports Car race...

In GTA races I always try to go as long as possible with the original vehicle. This time my firetruck flipped and landed on its side though, so I didn't have much choice. :lol:
I sort of agree about saving the novelty vehicles for non-GTA races. I just wish there was an option to take all the "good" vehicles off the road so people can't get too far ahead. GTA races should always = mayhem!

I was trying the tap method as well, and it worked until about an hour in when I left it on through the results screen. It's harder to do successfully in GTA because it seems like there are about four places where the mics could cut out. Fix please, Sony.

Ahhr, that was exactly what happened! I took a potshot at you anyway but ended up killing myself. Next time I'll just have to build a bigger roadblock. \\

Sorry for all the people I probably TKed during the Rocket Launcher TDM. Didn't realize we were doing teams, I was like "why is everyone orange....OHHHHH!" -_-
Also, great laughs during the sports car race and someone tried to drift around a corner, hit the ramp, and I think fell into the drink.

That was me. Do I at least get points for managing a perfect 180 and going over the ramp in reverse? I was watching that turn carefully the next lap because it looked like someone might do the same thing, but no such luck.
The straight-up supercar race turned out to be surprisingly fun. With normal races, I'm always worried that people will break out of the packad right away, but everyone mostly managed to stay together and there were some pretty intense moments. I'd be up for more of those next week.

Due to the game not letting me respawn my car when I got it stuck on it's side, I was so far behind everyone for the second lap that I just took the ramp full speed and was driving around on the other side of the river.

The $$$gio race was...interesting. Is it just me or does pushing forward on the L stick give you more speed on bikes? Also kudos to everyone playing, because it seemed like everyone actually stayed on those things for the entire race, one guy was even finishing up the race on foot.

Well, I wasn't pushing forward, but pulling back on the L stick. Pop those wheelies! It makes you move insanely fast. Sometimes, it makes that blur effect that you see when you're moving fast in other vehicles.

It wasn't a GTA race, so everyone had to use the fa ggio the whole time.:lol:

Wired or wireless connection? I have a problem every so often where I get disconnected from the server, but then I reconnect and I'm usually able to stay connected for 3-4 hours straight.

A couple weeks ago, a few people said the game kept telling them that they got kicked from the game and weren't allowed to rejoin, which definitely wasn't the case. If that can happen, then I expect all sorts of random things could go wrong.

I usually invite people I see playing GTA while we're all in the lobby. Maybe you're accepting it while the game is loading or something.
Also, try putting your PS3 in the DMZ in your router, that helped me when I was having those problems when I first started playing.

Wireless is ok, I guess, as long as your PS3 is close to the signal source or you have a strong signal to begin with. But, I have 768kbps dsl and I just got a wireless router and I do get the occasional 'the connection to one or more players has been lost' message as well as the 'the connection to the playstation network has been lost' message.
So, as soon as possible, I think I'm going to disable the wireless signal and go wired. I saw like 100 ft of cable(my PS3 isn't THAT far away, more like 50-60 feet) from NewEgg for $20 shipped, but I don't have a CC so I have to get a friend to order it FOR me n pay them the $$$.
