CAG GTAIV Night: Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel[ 9/2 @ 10pm EST ]

Someone add me so I can get invited in tonights game, And from the looks of it this will be my first and last week
 
I tried to play the Mercs 2 demo and just came away thinking it was a poor open-world game.. I hated the controls(I realize GTA's controls are wacky too, for most) as well.

I agree Race is preferable for Biff races, but that's only because it makes the roadblocks that much more satisfying. It's disappointing not having guns, though.

Also FF is always off except in the rocket TDMs. If you guys want it off there too, just let me know. I'm always open to suggestions.

Sounds like there will be some new people tonight! Should be pretty good, although I'm confused about the "first and last" comment.

If you played GTA on the Xbox last gen, the controls aren't really all that foreign, since they had the two triggers on the XBox controllers as the gas and brake for the car, while Mercs has the old GTA control setup with the face buttons for gas and brake I believe.

I was playing a bit of Saint's Row 2 last night and while the game world seems a bit more ummmm colorful than the GTA world, there's alot more to do than what it seems like GTA ended up becoming this gen(drive here, do this mission, drive here, do that mission, repeat till done).

I had a blast last night playing SR2. There's some wacky side missions you can do, like Fuzz(play as a cop and help a camera crew get footage for a "Cops" styled tv show)and Septic Avenger(where you spray shit on buildings to devalue them and get to a certain dollar value of depreciation).
 
Relax, dude... just send me or x3x1x a friend request before the game starts and I'll send you an invite (or three or four, depending).

Looks like some more friends list trimming is in order.
 
Yeah, I turned on my ps3 when I woke up to download the SingStar voice control patch and that's been it all day. Probably won't sign on again until at least 9:55pm.
 
I'm gonna go and reset my router and modem in a bit, so that I don't hear I'm lagtastic or whatever it was DD said about my connection last week. I normally do reset my router just before logging on for CAG night, so I'm not lagging, but it's also a used router and I have the slowest available DSL connection. So, that might also be contributing to my problems, huh?

I've been getting the 8002ad23 error(where psn cuts out but the internet connection continues) again lately too, so if that happens while I'm in game and it keeps happening, then I'm probably going to just say fuck it and leave for the night.

Sheesh, that "one life" variant in Cops 'n Crooks can drag oooooooooooon (I like the "protect the Boss" version). Great turnout and good ol' fashion Biff racing never gets dull.

:lol: Some of those early games were legendary... I'll never forget my first C&C game with everyone scrambling to climb into the chopper.

I heard Stranded and Smog are showing up to the anniversary game next week! Pass it on.

Picked up Chinatown Wars from Best Buy. I'm not far at all into it but after looking through the manual and doing a few of the early missions, I'm pretty excited. It's weird how Liberty City is fairly familiar and yet I'm still getting lost all the time because of the different perspective/graphic style. Also I love rapid-fire punching people.
 
You do know that we technically should be having the game on TUESDAY night, right? I say this because my PS3's receipt says I got it on the 29th last year and I got the PS3 the day/morning after I picked up GTA IV.
 
LOL OK OK, so technically I bought my copy @ like 12:12 am on the 29th. I actually thought it WAS the 28th it came out.

Oh well.....

I still miss the Sunday night games though, since the mid week ones seem to be a bit hectic for a big crowd to show up most times.
 
The anniversary game is tomorrow! The game starts at the usual time, but I'll be taking the group photo around 10:30E/7:30P so make sure you're there if you want to be in it. Afterward we will all be signing eachother's GTA Night yearbooks.
 
I'm also going to declare my GTA New Year Resolution: I vow to cut back on the randy_wrecked jokes. Even if Twilight 2 comes out within the next year, I will still bit my tongue.

I also vow to bring more Godsmack to GTA4 night because they are the best band in the world.


Now, everyone better behave when we try to take that damn picture!

Hmmm...yeah, I've noticed that the Randy-baiting has intensified lately. I, for one, would appreciate a cease-fire. In exchange, I'll attempt to be more tolerant of others. Even Cheapest.

I like my job. I get a free car, free gas, and free auto insurance. I have awesome benefits, a huge discount, and no dress code. I listen to music all day and get to work with hyper-intelligent people who love music and pop culture almost as much as I do. I get reimbursed for just about every concert ticket I buy. The highlight of our last team meeting was a private concert by Marilyn Manson. And, somehow after all of that, I still get a killer paycheck. Is your job that cool?

I know Twilight's an easy target but, as I've said in the past, I've made a boatload of money off of it over the last 9 months. I got a free week in Vegas based, primarily, on my district's awesome TL sales. I'll never say a disparaging word about the TL fanbase because, in a roundabout kinda way, their spending habits allow me to buy videogames with abandon and feed my dogs twice a day.

So, suck it if you guys think that's lame. I think it's pretty fucking amazing.

Naw, I wasn't offended. I'm a big boy. I give it pretty regularly so I don't mind taking it every now and then (insert something gay here).

I really like CAG GTA night and look forward to our weekly session. The gameplay and the group banter is very cathartic. It just seems like the Twilight/Randy's Mom stuff has suddenly turned into a thing, and it was getting a bit old.

It's also kind of amusing that I've played every Wednesday night for a year and I'm still awful at it.
 
Been a long while since I've seen some Hard Gay. Is that really worst? Or BEST!

Actually, I was just looking for a way with that comment to continue the discussion about tentacles from WORMS night.
 
Even the worst of Hard Gay is still the best.

For a while with the phantom kick glitch, I kept thinking you were all voting to kick me until I read up about it.

I have to retest my connection, but I think it's suckier than usual tonight. I was at only 50% signal last night, so I hope by resetting my modem and router today again that it's helped.
