CAG GTAIV Night: Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel[ 9/2 @ 10pm EST ]

I was having all sorts of problems tonight. I went to go into the chat for a minute when we tried taking the 'group picture' and then my PS3 didn't want to let me back into the game.

Everything(especially my connection) seemed to be running slow tonight, but I still had fun for the bit of time I was in the game.

But I do think that may be my last week for a while. Well, that and the fact that Sony is sending me a box('coffin' in 360 terms) for my PS3 since it's been loading games slow as of late.

I figure it's better if I let THEM look at it than try and diagnose any problems myself, since yesterday was my last day on my warranty. I squeaked in just under the wire on that.

Here's to hoping they replace the BR drive, since my one friend just went through with having to try and buy a used/refurb drive off of Ebay to replace their dead drive in their 60gb which was long out of warranty.
 
It has to go through the supersecret post-processing photo labs after its been taken. Pictures don't just automatically appear on your computer after the button has been pressed! Could you imagine such a magical device? Preposterous.

aka it's in metaly's hands and will appear whenever he has the time. Check the first post for some of his previous work

Actually I've been pretty busy so I'll probably put the photo up this weekend.

On a totally unrelated topic, if anyone has a tagline that succinctly yet exhaustively sums up all of last year's GTA nights, let me know.

I remember that epic free mode night. :drool: Actually I think we may have just loaded up in party mode and never bothered to start up a game.

Wasn't the 3-man-ram from Warhawk? Not that it wouldn't be out of place at GTA Night...

Nope, the 3-man-ram was when we did a melee only dm and I grabbed a car and ran over three people, who were all hitting each other with baseball bats, at one time.

If anyone wants to play some of any of the games before my PS3's coffin arrives(since it's past 6 pm here and UPS stops delivering around then), let me know since I'll try and be on as much as possible over the next few days.

Although, as always, my connection is meh so expect lotsa lag.
 
Nice work, too bad kube and Cheapest weren't looking in the right direction.

Seems Rock* is doing maintenance this weekend, taking their sweet time, so no GTA online at the moment.

I think the reason I wasn't looking in the right direction was I was stuck in the chat room at that moment and trying to get my PS3 to go back into the fuckin' game. It was about 1 step away from being frozen. It eventually unstuck, but by that time the pic had already been taken I think.

By the way, why didn't we just do the pic thing in Free Mode with Friendly Fire off? That would've negated any real temptation to start pegging each other with random shots.

That's the way I always play my Free Mode games when I make them, since it lets me determine who's coming in to try and just practice for Deathmatch games by killing me and who just wants to hang out in LC without being an assclown.

I'm not sure but I think the picture was taken right after someone killed me :cry:. Oh well, it was still a fun time, especially watching the scoreboard and have triple x have like 6 kills and a suicide in 0.5 seconds after the picture was taken lol.

Sorry about that again, but I was having some issues the other night. Between the PSN errors and the PS3 locking up a bit on me, I was getting a little frustrated.

But I STILL don't understand WHY metaly wouldn't have just made a quick Free Mode game with friendly fire OFF instead of a deathmatch game for when the pic was going to be taken.

Yeah I'm completely blind, I even was curious why the picture was shifted to the right lol. How the hell I did not see the outline is beyond me, but it really makes my previous post even more rediculous.
 
Next picture I want to grab (doesn't have to be any time soon) is at least 12 people lined up at the start for an all f aggio race. The taglines pretty much write themselves.

Because it wasn't supposed to take as long as it did to take the picture since after it would be taken it was planned to turn into a Deathmatch game for the remainder minutes... too bad it wasn't set to melee weapons only since I actually liked that brawl from the last time we tried this group picture.

I have an idea for a spot for a group picture for whenever I get my PS3 back from Sony.

How about we all take turns flying choppers up to the higher platform on the Statue Of Happiness and we try to get a picture beneath the giant beating heart contained within the statue itself?

Have you ever seen the heart in the statue? It's kind of nuts actually.

The only problem with that is, once you get up there, the only way to get down involves dying.

I was actually trying to land a chopper on top of the statue's head at one point, but that's a major league pita, moreso than even trying to land one near the platform.

The only way to get up on that platform is to hover the chopper and then bail out while hovering REALLY close.

I have a better idea though for after the attempt of a group picture the next time: RPG's ONLY as weapons. We all agree to turn toward each other and countdown to 0 and then FIRE.

I think it'd be interesting to see how many get multiple kills, much like XXX I think got during this last attempt.

OK Apparently, UPS is supposed to deliver the 'coffin' for my PS3 today, so I guess that means I have to send it out either tomorrow or Wednesday.

So no GTA IV night for me this week and for at least a couple weeks for me. I know you all will be disappointed that you can't hear me muttering gibberish. I hope you'll all find some way to cope. :razz:

Honestly, I'm not much of a social gamer, which is another reason why I don't really talk on mic. If I wanna play a game in a social environment, I go to a friends house offline and play.
