You just had some bad luck..Schaub could not get into any sort of rhythm and Ryan zipped every pass perfectly. I wouldn't say this game, or the others we have played, has been a true representation of either of our Madden game skills. I know we are actually pretty close, no way you would win as much as you do otherwise.

Well, it looks like neither the Seahawks vs Cardinals game nor the Eagles vs Jets game is going to be played. That's unfortunate. I also got a private message from damailman saying he's going to leave the league anyway. I doubt it was specifically because of this game, and it sucks that he tried to get it played and his opponent kinda flaked on him (which is another issue), but since he never subbed or had a secondary team himself, it is what it is.
As for N3XTLVL, he should have known who his opponent was and that it was an empty team. That said, other than Blade, nobody really stepped up for either of these guys (though in fairness...they could have subbed for each other too).

But he did get a free win...soooo, I'm open to opinions on that one. Really, he probably should have just played the CPU if nobody could sub. Anyway, we've advanced to Week 7! Deadline is 3/17...so get your games played before getting shitfaced on green beer! I'll do stats and update the OP in the morning.

N3XTLVL definitely deserves a strike, regardless of a win or a loss. If he had played CPU, it would have been a guaranteed win anyhow, but it never should have come to that. You need to know who your opponent is and work to find a resolution. Even though this week was difficult for me, Blade and I exchanged many PMs on many different days trying to work something out and we discussed scenarios. Neither of us just popped in the last half day and had no idea who we were supposed to play.
I think being an adult, he will appreciate that we are treating him as such, meaning he is held accountable for attempting to find a sub and honor his commitment to the league that he made when he joined. It just seems to be an ongoing issue with him having communication with his opponents. I don't know why.
I wish I was more available to help sub like I could last year. At some point in the future, I hope to be again. I can tell you that most weekend mornings, I am still available and can help sub, so if someone knows they need one on a weekend, I am willing to pick it up in the morning. I know some people have been good at helping this year and I hope some others are able to help out each other too.

Yep, it looks like the South is even more competitive than last year..who would have thought that would be possible? I wish I didn't have to bail on those two games, though the results may have been the same. My defense sure got pounded hard in those games.

U know this is freekin foolish i make every atempt every week to play my damn games if i always have to be the one to set up my fin games then im done. This means nothing to me its just fill in time for me. Im not gonba change my life or plans and spend my time on a league that shows favortism,and is run on half inforced or unfinished rules. I post once or twice a week respond to every pm i ever recieve within 30 seconds easy. So if u wanna boot me i could care less.but dont shove anything down my throat when the league is run sub par.

The point is, coming in on the day of the deadline, not knowing who you play, and wondering why your opponent hasn't contacted you is not going to cut it. Think about that for a second, and you tell me if that sounds adequate.
So far in season 2, you missed your first two games, your 3rd game was against a secondary team (Cardinals), your 4th game was against me (Saints...and honestly, I can't remember who reached out. I thought that one was fairly easy to schedule), your 5th game was against damailman...who also has some communication issues, and your 6th game was against a secondary team (Jets).
So, basically, your schedule has just been kinda shitty to start the season. The 2nd half of your schedule is almost entirely primary teams though. That doesn't relinquish all responsibility on your end...but it won't be ALL on you. It's up to you if you want to hang around or not, but there looks to be some good games there.

If you played say 3 secondaries in a row, then it would be your responsibility to setup those games. If that is too much to ask then you probably should quit. I don't see how any of this is favoritism. Active people clearly state the efforts being made to play their games, coming in asking who you play and why they haven't contacted you first makes the obvious statement of your commitment to play your games. I also don't see how any of this changes your life or plans, checking and sending messages should take less then 5 minutes.

How many of you talk in party chat in game? How many of u play other gamea together. Every game i reach out say hi, act nice say good game. I dont run same 5 cheese play that abuse the game mechanics i play football. But yeah ive heard two voices since joining. What does chatting have to do with favoritism? I don't use the chat, because I only can play late at night and have a sleeping wife and two sleeping toddlers. Actually, this is the only game I play online regularly, and I don't feel like I'm treated preferentially -- good or bad.
As far as scheduling games, every time we advance, I take two minutes to look at my schedule and fire off a PM on here that day. I don't think that's too much to ask of anyone playing in this league. If you're taking a team, we should be able to believe you have some sort of reason to join. You WANT to play, and you are making a commitment by joining. So, if that's the case, why is it such grueling, excruciating work to connect with your next opponent? It's actually part of the fun, really. I like checking out the next team and examining their play style, stats, etc. Helps me understand the game better -- I'll know if the next guy favors pass over rush, etc.
And as far as the commish: Don't get bent out of shape if he says something to you that sounds curt. The guy has an infant at home, and he's running this league for free, for all of us to have a good time. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to go explain the same rules over and over again, and I actually think he does it with much more tact that I would.
Bottom line: If you want to be in the league, you have to make a commitment to be an active member. We ALL have lives, but we all have decided this is important enough to devote time playing.

I clearly wrote in structured, well written sentences, I am not sure what was so hard to understand. As you stated before, you are an adult, so do whatever you want. As far as "proving" anything, it's a matter of participating in the league. I am not trying to entice you in to anything, but giving my opinion and feedback about the situation. I did not state anything about how you play the game, so I am not sure why you feel that is even worthy of discussion as I brought up a currently proposed problem about you showing up for your games. I follow the rules and show up for my games. I basically reiterated other people's same stance yet you choose to attack me?

Hahaha, I like this part. Thanks, lyric. Believe it or not, I've actually been trying to be a little less blunt lately. Half the time I find myself rewriting my posts wondering if anyone would get offended by something. That's actually part of the reason I created the CAGLeagueSports username...so I could still bicker and throw my opinion around as "myself" without it detracting from the ongoings of the league.
But I don't want to keep playing the baby card. Yes, she's 3 months old, and yes, she's a handful, lol. But we can file that under "We're all adults, and we all have responsibilities." But like you and others have said, when anyone joins the league, they're making a committment to the other members that they WANT to participate. The only way it works is if we're all equally committed.
By that same token, I raise the question what if everybody had the attitude of "I want my opponent to contact me"? No games would get played. It's just a silly thing to get upset about. The mic thing is hilarious to me. It's been mentioned by a few people in this league, and it just blows my mind how hung up people get on it. My wife and I moved to Nashville 7 months ago and are living in a small, crap ass apartment while we save up to buy a house in the next year. We've since added a baby in that small, crap ass apartment. If people want to hear clanging pots and pans, general marital bickering, and a crying baby through my headset, your idea of a good time is severely twisted.

The mic thing is hilarious to me. It's been mentioned by a few people in this league, and it just blows my mind how hung up people get on it. My wife and I moved to Nashville 7 months ago and are living in a small, crap ass apartment while we save up to buy a house in the next year. We've since added a baby in that small, crap ass apartment. If people want to hear clanging pots and pans, general marital bickering, and a crying baby through my headset, your idea of a good time is severely twisted.

I'm 4-1 right now, but I'm starting a tough four game stretch that may leave me at 4-5. I play the Rams, Chiefs, Panthers, and Saints. That's an 18-4 combined record. 16-1 if you take out the Rams, though I know lyric is a lot better than his record so far this season.

Yeah, but I'm not as good as my record either. So it comes out about the same, lol. The last half of my schedule being almost all division games is going to crush my soul. The way the scheduling is, it feels like college football, with "can't screw up" conference games the rest of the way.

Blade, if you're still around and can play that Saints vs Colts game, LV was a dipshit and scheduled his official league game for the same time he told me he wanted to play Giants vs Dolphins. I can't play late on weekdays though, so I'd need to start it in the next 15-20 minutes. This kind of stuff pisses me off because I don't get much time to game during the week. I schedule it around my wife and my daughter. I stopped spending time with them to play this game. I don't sit around jerking off to Madden all night. It's nothing personal, and I'll get over it. But when people do stupid shit, I let them know that they did stupid shit.
Oh, also, he has commish control because I gave it to him before I switched to Miami.

Not much to tell here. The Saints just imposed their will, worked the running game, and held the ball longer...much longer. New Orleans won the time of possession battle 16:27 to 3:33. It should be noted though that Blade was without Peyton Manning, who ironically enough, is out for the season. The best we can figure is that it happened in a simmed CPU game. But that basically turned the Colts offense into the real Colts offense, as they were only able to muster 48 yards of total offense.
On the other side of the ball, the Saints finished with 255 yards of total offense, but had several drives stall out as the Colts came up with some big goalline stands (even tricking me into trying to throw the ball once, you SOB, lol j/k). But yeah, without Manning, it wasn't really a fair fight. Pretty funny that the Colts were STILL #1 in the power rankings coming into this week. I'm guessing we're about to see that number take a big nosedive, hahaha. I bet Blade wishes he never gave up the Dolphins now. I guess he could switch to the Titans as his secondary though, lol.
Oh, and of course, my rookie HB, Asa Fanning, got knocked out of the game again. I really wish I had seen his injury rating before the draft. He's a stud, but he's made of glass. This time it was a torn shoulder labrum, and he's out for 1 week. Could be worse. But I'm sure the "worse" is coming soon, lol.

As for the issue with LVPatriots, dude, go read the PM's I sent you about that game. I had time for one game tonight. I can't play late on weekdays because my wife works early mornings and I have to take care of my daughter. I also wasn't ignoring your party invite. I don't chat on my headset when the baby is sleeping nearby.
But whatever man. Of course I'm not going to give you a strike for it...unless you just don't play the game at all. But I'm also not really going to go out of my way to play it with you either. You can either find someone else to sub, or catch me Friday or Saturday evening when I have more time for gaming. It's not a big deal. I said I'd get over it. But you wasted my time. It is what it is.

Yeah, maybe the players here aren't as good, but that doesn't mean anybody deserves less respect than "official league" members. They happen. But I don't like the idea of this league being less important. I'm just glad Blade was able to get on and prevent my night from being a total loss.
