CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!
GG, as always..outside of that weird PR situation (I kept hitting Y to fair catch and nothing happened..then it kind of lagged and next thing I knew, my guy has the ball and was moving forward, only to get nailed), it was a game that was completely free of Madden issues and was determined by the two players. Can't ask for a better game than that.
Yeah, I actually was trying to bait you with that punt. I knew I couldn't get it inside the 10 from where I was punting and I didn't want to kick it out of bounds and have you end up at the 30 or something. So, I kicked it a bit high, so it would be kind of inbetween on whether you could return it or not. I don't know if you waited too long to call for the fair catch (that happens to me sometimes), but yeah...if it was lagging at all, that could have screwed it up too.

I agree, the game was great though. No ridiculous INTs, no RB's with butterfingers, no players dropping easy passes, very accurate QBs, good blocking, good tackling, etc. It was nice to see both sets of AI players being evenly matched, allowing us to actually compete instead of one person being handicapped with underachieving players. I say this with a lot of EA games, but if randomness and players sucking "adds to the realism", I'd rather they take it out (at least for any kind of competitive online modes). Knowing that your players are going to basically perform on par with your opponent's provides a much more enjoyable playing experience.

Looks like I'll be home most of the afternoon waiting for a plumber to show up.

Would anyone be able to sub for the Colts around 5est?

I have sent blade 2 pms about getting our game in (vikings Lions), no response on either of them. When can you get it in if your reading this? If I dont get a response I guess I'll need a sub tonight.

I didn't respond to the first one cause you said you wouldn't be back till Sunday having messaged me on Friday. And you just messaged me again this morning, I am free anytime as I always state.
I can probably sub today. What times are you available?
I actually can do right now (2 p.m. EST) or later on tonight 11 p.m. EST.

Yeah, I was out when you posted this. Guess it'll have to be tonight at 11 PM EST then. I'm going to have to do the "commissioner dance" with somebody though so we can advance after this game. lyric, either you can do it, or if somebody else wants to volunteer to get on late tonight, that would work too.

I'll be back home around 10, so I can take care of it.

Chiefs 18
Colts 10

My losing streak goes on, although I do feel like I played a good game. I think I would've won if I'd had Peyton Manning throwing instead of Curtis Painter. He's got the throwing accuracy of a blind horse.
Super ill be on all night. Messaged yah on here and live
We froze again!

Unfortunately .. looks like we're going to have to sim.

Ok super and i keep trying play and its freezing everytime. Side note i played heads up right before that. But what should we do?

I played a lot yesterday too. We're going to have to sim :(

No, you guys don't need to leave the franchise. The game will just sim when we advance. Hate that it has to go down like that, but this seems to happen with one game in almost every season for every franchise. It's like one game is just deemed "unplayable" by the servers or something.

Rams 28
Redskins 3

St. Louis FINALLY shows some of its year-one play as the Rams get a victory against Washington. The Madden gods, who until now had cursed the Rams this year, let up a little to give St. Louis somewhat of a reprieve.

Steven Jackson was productive running inside, going for 180 yards on 24 carries and 4 touchdowns. Sam Bradford was a perfect 7-for-7 for 81 yards.

On the other sideline, the Redskins just couldn't get any luck. On the one series n8 stopped me on third down, he gets a facemask penalty, which kept my drive alive.

And like n8 said after the game, he did his good deed for the day. Thanks so much for subbing. I know you're a much better player than me, so this score isn't an indication of skill but rather of the ball bouncing in my favor.

Ugh...the next time I volunteer to sub as the Redskins, somebody just punch me in the face, lol. They're so bad that I was actually sad when I found out Rex Grossman was injured. I ended up signing a low rated QB for their team because the only one they had was John Beck. If he went down and I had to use the punter at QB, I would have just killed myself, haha. I did have a few decent plays with Roy Helu, but the blocking was just never there to really break one. On the other side of the ball, Steven Jackson just toyed with my defenders. I was seriously sending 7 and 8 guys on the blitz, and they still couldn't touch him. lyric probably felt like a god in this game, lol. As I said, that was definitely my good deed for the day.

Oh, also, lyric, at the end I was trying to let you score, when you stopped at the 3, haha. I at least wanted to get the ball back and screw around with Helu some more. That Skins defense was just driving me nuts. I figured they'd do just as well if I ran away from the ball as they did the rest of the game anyway.

No problem. I don't think I'm better than you at all. We always have close games. I just felt like I was playing with a middle school team today, haha.

Yeah, I didn't know what to do there on the 3. I felt like Ahmad Bradshaw in the Super Bowl. Then, I knew I couldn't run out the clock, so I called a simple dive play, but of course, that Redskin D-Line parted like the Red Sea and let me walk in. I didn't want you to think I was running up the score LOL!

Dolphins - 28
Broncos - 0

With Kaster back home to do the commissioner dance with me, we realized we could also play the Denver vs Miami game that he had planned on simming. He's probably wishing it had been simmed now, lol. Denver just couldn't catch a break in this one. The o-line wasn't really giving Orton any time, and when they were, he was missing open receivers. The Miami defense was able to load up on the run, and basically eliminate any Denver attack, holding them to 93 yards of total offense.

On the other side of the ball, it was the Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas show, as Miami racked up 317 yards of offense. The only thing that kept Bush from contending for Player of the Week honors was his stamina and having to share time with Thomas. Thomas scored 3 TDs, with Bush getting the other score. A fumble and an interception hurt the Broncos and allowed the Miami offense to win the time of possession battle. Good game, Kaster. It looks like I passed the "Please God, let it end" disease on to you after my game against lyric, lol. Sorry dude.

Also, it may be crazy, but I love playing with Miami. I really feel like they have a good "Madden team". They've got a lot of studs on defense, and several guys on offense who aren't great, but do certain things particularly well. Reggie Bush has 96 speed and 98 acceleration. Pat Devlin is only a 65 OVR, but has 92 sort range accuracy. Anthony Fasano is a great pass catching tight end, and Dante Rosario is of a similar mold, just not quite as good. I don't think I even used Brandon Marshall, lol. For the things that work in Madden 12, this team is pretty beastly, in my opinion.

Dolphins
Pat Devlin - 4-6, 67 yds
Reggie Bush - 19 att, 166 yds, 1 TD
Daniel Thomas - 8 att, 83 yds, 3 TDs
Anthony Fasano - 3 rec, 55 yds
Cameron Wake - 6 tackles, 1 FF
Shaquelle Waugh - 3 tackles, 3 sacks

Broncos
Kyle Orton - 6-13, 97 yds, 0 TDs, 1 INT
Knowshon Moreno - 8 att, 17 yds, 1 rec, 11 yds
Donnie Avery - 2 rec, 42 yds
Julius Thomas - 2 rec, 21 yds

And we are advanced to Week 12! I've got an interesting situation coming up as I'm going out of town this coming week. I'll be gone 4/5-4/10. Fortunately, that MOSTLY falls in between two weeks in here (though I will need someone to take commissioner duty while I'm gone. Kaster, you available for that?), but with the Week 13 deadline scheduled to be on 4/10 as things stand now (and I probably won't be back until late). That is a HUGE divisional game for me against the Panthers, and I don't want to miss it.

So, if there aren't any objections, I'd like to propose we either tack a day on to Week 12, making this week's deadline 4/7 (with the Week 13 deadline being 4/11). Or just advance this week as scheduled on 4/6, and extend Week 13 to 4/11. If people think it's unfair to extend either of them, that's fine. I've just been gearing up for this Panthers meeting all season. But with the Easter holiday, I thought maybe some other people have plans as well, and maybe adding an extra day onto one of the weeks could help several of us. As always, opinions are welcome.

Week 11 Summary

Power Rankings
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Carolina Panthers
3. New England Patriots
4. Indianapolis Colts
5. Cleveland Browns

Offensive Player of the Week
Noel Devine, CAR - 17 att, 241 yds, 3 TDs

Defensive Player of the Week
Kenny Phillips, NYG - 5 tackles, 2 INTs

I would be happy to take over commissioner duties (commissioning?) while you're away, Nate. Also, it doesn't really affect me, but as you said, Easter weekend is nigh upon us. I vote we have the week that includes Easter weekend be the long one, so I'm in the 4/6 and 4/11 advancing group.

Although you should make sure Tanabeo is around on 4/11 ;)

I'm so close to number one and devine got player of the week again =) Im fine with moving week 13 deadline to 4/11

Edit: I play the colts this week can anyone sub late one night or play before noon cst only thing I ask is that its not someone who I have to play in the next few weeks(dont want to show them my gameplan)

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the flexibility.

And good point! Tanabeo, I don't know if you'll know this far in advance, but will you be available for our Week 13 game on 4/11? I can tell you for certain I'll be able to play between 5 PM EST and 9 PM EST...possibly later, but those times for sure.

Hey Guys I just read the thread and caught up. Thanks to Kaster for helping me out an posting in here. I had a death in the family and the funeral was out of state. Rough weekend.

Anyways I deserve a strike for missing and not posting. I posted in the other leagues forum and honestly just don't get around to posting in here as for that I sincerely appologize.

I'm back now and will look this evening to see who I play this week and get the PM sent to the owner.

Again sorry fellas. I'm usually more diligent then that.

It's totally cool Doc. There are definitely times when life gets in the way of Madden, and I think everyone here can empathize with you. I'm not sure about Nate, but I know that in your case, a strike isn't really warranted. You're usually great about posting and you had some very unusual circumstances.

Who wants to sub as the Redskins vs. my Giants tonight?

Sorry to hear that, doc. I also don't really feel a strike is warranted considering at least somebody knew of your whereabouts and due to the nature of the absence. The entire purpose of the strikes is to prevent those "I haven't heard from him, I have no idea where he is" scenarios. Yeah, you didn't post in this thread, but at least somebody was able to relay word of your situation. That's good enough for me.
Who wants to sub as the Redskins vs. my Giants tonight?
LOL NO!

Well, if you don't get off, it would have to be before noon then. Either option would be tough on me with my wife and daughter's schedules, but since that's my only day to play, obviously, I'd have to do it. I'm also CST, so we're operating on the same clock. Really hoping you get a vacation though! ;)

And certainly in Doc's case, he told me a little about why he had to leave. In his case there really shouldn't have been too much concern about posting in the thread, when his real life situation took priority.

Any chance you can sub for the Redskins this week Kaster? Or anyone?

"Hey i heard LV needed a sub for the Redskins!"

"Really? I'd love to volunteer!"

"Awesome, Me too!"

...Little help guys

Sorry to hear that doc..hope it went as well as it could given the circumstances.

I am totally fine with an extra day this week as well.
Challenge is out.

No one can beat my Giants with the Redskins. Not a one of you.

PM me if you accept the challenge.
puhhhhhhleaze. PM sent

Packers 24

Man, does it feel good to get a win. I've lost track of how long it's been, but it's nice to finally not lose.

Green Bay debuted their new ball control offense with much success. No Aaron Rodgers meant keeping to the ground as much as possible, with James Starks having 172 yards and a TD on 25 carries. Ryan Grant added 24 yards on 4 carries, and Matt Flynn even got in on the action by running in for a score on a broken play.

Flynn had decent success when he did have to throw, going 6-10 for 132 yards and a TD pass to Greg Jennings.

GG, campbell. I believe we're tied for the division lead now, so it looks to be an exciting finish to the season.
Pretty positive you were never down 21-7, I think we were tied at 14-14 at one point...

I am dropping the Titans as my secondary, I have just been playing way too much recently. I was playing Docs team, my team, a secondary team, and the main league team, and I subbed a couple of games. These last couple weeks have just been too much and are discouraging me from even wanting to play at all. I will still sub if I am available, I just don't want to be tied to a secondary team for awhile with as much as I have been playing cause it's burning me out.
This...

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I don't want a secondary anymore, sorry guys

Must have overlooked it. I'm sensing some CPU games coming down the pipe very soon. Hope that doesn't kill off league interest.
