GG, as always..outside of that weird PR situation (I kept hitting Y to fair catch and nothing happened..then it kind of lagged and next thing I knew, my guy has the ball and was moving forward, only to get nailed), it was a game that was completely free of Madden issues and was determined by the two players. Can't ask for a better game than that.
Yeah, I actually was trying to bait you with that punt. I knew I couldn't get it inside the 10 from where I was punting and I didn't want to kick it out of bounds and have you end up at the 30 or something. So, I kicked it a bit high, so it would be kind of inbetween on whether you could return it or not. I don't know if you waited too long to call for the fair catch (that happens to me sometimes), but yeah...if it was lagging at all, that could have screwed it up too.
I agree, the game was great though. No ridiculous INTs, no RB's with butterfingers, no players dropping easy passes, very accurate QBs, good blocking, good tackling, etc. It was nice to see both sets of AI players being evenly matched, allowing us to actually compete instead of one person being handicapped with underachieving players. I say this with a lot of EA games, but if randomness and players sucking "adds to the realism", I'd rather they take it out (at least for any kind of competitive online modes). Knowing that your players are going to basically perform on par with your opponent's provides a much more enjoyable playing experience.
