CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!

Anyone have a list of Playoff projections? Looks like the Falcons are the only team close to locking up a playoff spot.

Haha, there's actually a few guys in here who do that. It just makes me laugh cause of the perceived sense of "urgency". And we're both new dads, which is why I was joking (ha...not really) about the sleep deprivation.
 
Looks like the Rams have their division locked up.

My Falcons are close, I am 10-3 with three games to go, but if I lose the remaining 3 games, I could be out of the division and even the wild card. 10 wins might not be enough depending on how others finish up and tie-breakers work themselves out.

I really want a first round bye though, so no starters are being rested until then.
 
NFC South is redonkulous. Meanwhile, 10 wins in the AFC will probably earn you a bye :D this AFC West race between me and LV is gonna be crazy

PS: Dark Rider, you've beaten me twice in the last three weeks by subbing for random teams. You owe me a win over the Chiefs ;)

And yeah, I was actually pulling for you against Carolina. At this point, I've given up on catching you. In all honesty, I could see myself easily finishing 8-8. I've already lost to you and the Panthers once, and my other game is against a much improved docb with the Vikings. I wish somebody would have told me the NFC South was going to be a beast of a division. I would have stayed the fuck away, lol.

I play the panthers this week! I need the win myself so maybe we wil both benefit! I have had moments of glory this year! IE beating the Falcons! Lol sorry yank! I should play Tana and the panthers either tomorrow or Sunday! Assuming we advance!

Yea I remember in the First like 5 weeks I was so pissed about losing! I just started playing online more and trying to understand offense and defensive schemes. I also started waiting for my routes to develop an so forth! I have a great D now, lyric didn't you say I held you to like 3 yards rushing? I still can't believe I beat you yank! I'm lucky my division is HORrible! Any help with the Jags is much appreciated! Tana when we advance if you see it before I do just shoot me a message! Tomorrow mid afternoon like 3-530ish CST WILL work for me!

If we advance soon tonite I can do that to!

Yeah, someone was mad about someone running a lot of QB runs earlier in this thread (I thought you were involved in the posts, but I guess not?). I posted something about my general setup for containing QB sneaks, but my setup doesn't work for 5 WR sets due to not enough DBs. After our game, I think I have a base play that should work well for QB runs (scaling from sneaks to 5WR), but I need to learn how to quickly call audibles for specific players to see if my play translates well from paper into the game. If you don't mind, I'll post it and you can see what you think about it.

Sorry for the delay, guys. After helping the CAG Hockey Team win another championship last night, I crashed hard. We have advanced to Week 15 now though! Sorry to those who didn't get their game played, but you had plenty of time.

As mentioned before, DVO and silversnake5 have been booted because neither has made much effort to play their games in several weeks. You both have invites to rejoin the league, but I don't want either of you to rejoin until you're about to play your next game. If no one can get in touch with you and we need subs for those games, I don't want to have to boot you again.

sorry guys got caught up with work and shit and i thought i was on a bye week with the cowboys and lost track of how far in the season we were been so busy with everything. just got back from afgansitan like 4 or 5 months ago and found out im gonig back in october and with all the training and everything going on ive been so busy thought i was going to be going to special forces school but just found out thats getting put on hold now with a new deployment coming up so ya been busy to the extreme but im back and ready sorry for the lack on a heads up its a my bad situation

Huh? lol. I can completely understand being busy and having other commitments, but you used the bye excuse already, lol. Personally, I don't mind people having their games simmed because it's their business. But it is going to be kind of lame if owners who missed several games make the playoffs (as your Cowboys are looking to).

Kinda makes me think we should institute some kind of "if you have X games simmed due to being absent, you forfeit your right to play in the playoffs". Not trying to paint you in a bad light, DVO. I just feel kinda bad for people who have been here week in and week out with bad teams who may not make the playoffs because "better" teams had their games simmed.
 
but i got no response from it and its was like two days ago and we havent played any games since then also i talked to pitfall abotu the raiders game and let him know something came up just durther explaining what happened at all thats its not using the excuse again just putting more to go with what happened from the first time

Again, it's not a big deal (other than possible resentment from other players...which is mainly what I'm trying to avoid). Just seems like you lost track of this thread for a little while. A few people were also saying you were posting in the other Madden league thread every day. People were starting to wonder if you had quit this league. Either way, over and done with now. If you can get back on track, that's fine. Just try to let us know what's going on next time.

Cool. Welcome to the league! The Bills play the Dolphins in Week 15, which is Blade3D's secondary team. If you're not able to get the game right away, it wouldn't be a huge deal, as this game could just be simmed. In Week 16 (which we'll advance to on 2/1), the Bills play the Broncos, and that's a game that would need to be played. Up to you how you want to proceed.

Assuming it was 1st or 2nd down, with a 10 point lead and under a minute to play, you probably should kneel the ball. Even with one timeout, he wouldn't be able to do anything. If it was 3rd down, then running one more time is reasonable.

What people need to think about in these situations is the possibility of a turnover. If you're winning and you can end the game without your opponent having even a chance of making a play, that's what SHOULD happen. I don't know why people seem to overcomplicate this so often.

However, calling a FB dive an attempt at "running up the score" isn't fair either (since it was Ronnie Brown who scored, I'm guessing you're playing him at FB instead of Schmitt?). This seems to be another one of those instances of "after you picked up the 1st down, you COULD have just gone down/went out of bounds" (since I'm sure you weren't expecting to score there). But again, not many people think to do that.

Both of you need to watch the hostility of your posts though. This really doesn't need to escalate.
 
I was just gonna run up the middle once to then run the clock. He went in prevent and there was a gaping whole so my guy went off on a 76yd run. I never planned to do that.i was also mad he ran the same two, in my mind (so far both games that all both players ran)cheasy ourside counter slant run.i finally stopped it and i just wanted to put a hurt. So yes im sorry for scoring and loosing my cool. Normally im cool beans but guy had no mic to say anything.

Wow really, not my fault you couldn't stop it, and I did throw the ball. It was 1st down, you should have been kneeling it anyway. I didn't think it was going to matter what I chose cause I figured you were going to kneel it.

And why were you losing your cool? You were winning, and I was playing with the shitty Dolphins.

I am a run heavy guy, I varied my run plays. I don't know what your problem was with it.

Yeah, this is basically a conversation lyric and I had a few weeks ago when I wasn't able to stop Steven Jackson for anything. It's probably in their best interest to run a variety of plays because as you pointed out, you know what play is coming. And once you (or an opponent better than you) figure out how to stop it, it leaves them with very little else to go to.

But the onus still falls on YOU to stop it. As long as it's not a broken or glitched play, how can you blame them for using what is working? If anything, it should be a challenge to you to improve your defense. He wasn't disrespecting you by having an effective running game. But at the end of the day, it didn't change the outcome of the game, so let's just learn from it and move on.
