CAG Madden 09 League #2 - CLOSED

Hey if anyone drops (especial the Titans owner) I would love to take his spot.

By the way here is a suggestion if you are not already doing it. Why dont you guys have a preferred time slot posted in the OP of everyones schedule. Have everyone post there preferred time in which there is at least a 90% chance that they will be on so that at least you have a point of reference when the other person will be on. For example.

8-10pm Weekdays. PM for weekends.

Not if the people in the league are truly honest about what times they are on there should be no problem looking finding the proper people to play with. Also this will weed out everyone who doesnt plan on playing beacuse they most likely wont come back to post their preferred time.

Of course this isnt the answer to everyone but at least you will have a point of reference instead of always going by pms and such.

Soodmeg makes a good point. My additional suggestion is to put in the time zone of where you are located. EX: EST

This is a pretty good idea...at least as a reference for when you're usually available. For me (and I'm sure a lot of guys), I have multiple systems, so you can't really a call it a time of "when I'm on". I could be on my PS3 at that time, so if you look on XBL and just don't see me, it doesn't really mean anything.

Communication is the key in all of this. I agree, having as many aids and indicators about your opponents as possible is helpful, but you still gotta check the thread at least once every two days and respond to PMs. To me this is just standard etiquette of being in an online league.
 
I am the titans and i am very committed but lostpirate will not reply to my pm's or xbox live messages, so please hurry up and kick him so we can get on

I took an ass whooping thanks to a Y button that didnt take to call a fair catch, twice. It would have been a good game otherwise.

Yeah, it was a good game. It would have been alot closer had the fair catch worked. Anyone else experience the fair catch problem out there?

Jagged is probably just off unexpectedly, I say we just wait it out.
Also, if anybody wants to be in 2 leagues, the Dolphins are open in my league, the guy had to leave with a VERY legitimate reason.

And Jagged is in my league as well so I'm not trying to steal anybody.
 
Now the Bengals are open (Jagged Toasters team) just cuz like, the deadline is today and he hasn't replied to anything. I'm sure he doesn't mind though, he's leading this league anyhow.

So if you want the Bengals , post in my league. Theres only 1 game left in Week 1.

A couple days? It's been a week since we've heard anything from Jagged. If it was just this weekend, I'd say "yeah, fuck it...it's Labor Day". But he was asking the no-shows to respond to him by 8/25 so he could drop the dead weight...and now he's turned into dead weight. I don't mean to be an ass about it, but if you read his posts, he didn't seem to really have high expectations for this league anyway. And I just don't think losing contact with your members for a week is going to get the job done.

How many people do we even have who are in this league, but NOT in the Azumangaman's league? Because to me, these are going to be the only people who give a crap if this league dies. I know I'm one of those people. This is the only league I was playing in. And I know I want to be involved in a Madden league (either through the game's system or our own organization). So, can we take a poll to see who's still interested in playing? Whether it's under new management or not. I'm just going to be pissed if I bought the Collector's Edition of the game and I can't even get in on a decent league.
 
N8 check with Azu and see if there are any openings in our league. If there is another league going I wouldnt mind joining that one even if I am in AZU's league just let me know if your gonna set up. I have full confidence in your abilities as commish.
 
I'm very sorry everyone, I should have announced that I'll be away for awhile. I only had about 15 minutes to check this site the past week, but I will definitely be getting everything cleaned up tomorrow, no matter how long it takes. I won't be taking any unexpected leaves for the rest of the season. I'm swamped with stuff to do on here now. My PM box is exploding. Ha. This shall be fun.

And Azu, I do believe it is best for me to leave your league. It's nothing personal, but running one league and participating in another is tough.

I'm back now though, but I need sleep. It's been a long week. Look for everything to be updated before noon EST tomorrow.

Whew...thank God! Haha, sorry if I shook things up a bit, but it was sort of an odd disappearance after you had just talked about kicking out the slack asses. Just glad I don't have to try to organize anything since I already have an MLB league I run (if you think running one and participating in another is tough...I don't even want to know what running two would be like). Anyway, glad to see you back Jagged. Just wanted to make sure we weren't dead in the water.
 
Everything is updated once again. That was fun, ha. If you notice anything missing, let me know. I might have skipped over it. Start playing your week 2 games though, and I would prefer all of you to have them in by this Sunday. However, since four teams were cut, I will likely need to extend that.

For those of you still waiting on an opponent for week 1, go ahead and play week 2. The spots should be filled by Sunday. If not, we will figure something out.

I know Soodmeg was looking for a spot, so take your pick.

Nice job Jagged! I noticed that neither the Bears nor the Colts were cut, but they still haven't gotten their week 1 game played. What's the story there?

We'll probably have to cut the Colts. I thought Plutarski had been talking to him privately, but it turns out he wasn't getting a response either. I'll try to contact him. Chances are though, he'll be out.

Also, ivanctorres, I would switch you over, but considering you've already played your week 1 game, I'm not thinking we should do that. Sorry.

Ah, beat to the Jags. I'd love to take the Colts if that guy drops out. I'm in Azumangaman's league and I've played both of my games there.
 
Titans and Bills contact me. I am going to the movies around 5 should be back around 7 30 we can play after that.
 
Looks like things are almost back to normal around here. Once we fill in the final three teams, we'll be doing great. I'm hoping we didn't lose anyone else...
 
Recap
The game was pretty much over at the beginning of the second half but the score is misleading...
1st quarter Styler drives down and goes for a FG on a long 4th down.
I get the ball back I drive down to his 30 or so and miss a 45 yard field goal wide right with enough distance.
He gets the ball back and has 3rd and 21 and lofts a ball to his wide receiver, which my db deflects but in one of the must unluckiest plays for me it lands in his other receivers hands that was on the side line. It goes from a potential 4th and long to 1st down at my 20. :bomb: At that point I couldnt believe my luck
He scores making it 10-0 but I am still in the game.

I begin driving down again and throw a pass to Owen Daniels, which his DB takes an amazing break on...one of the best breaks I have seen in Madden against anybody. This is one on one coverage but he gets it.

Ok I get the ball to begin the second half and again Ed Reed takes a ridiculous break on a ball leaps forward, jumps and just grabs a ball mean for Andre Johnson across the middle for a good 25 yard gain. I just couldnt believe my luck. His dbs took amzing breaks on the ball. At this point it is 13-0 and I am just disheartened and the rest of the game is history. At 13-0 his ball in my territory in the game is over.

GG Styler and bad beats for me. I hope no one has sniping dbs like that when I play them.

That's one thing I've learned (well not really learned because it still happens to me, haha) with Madden the past couple years. There are some DBs that you just CAN'T throw on. All your opponent has to do is press Y and it's a pick...even in single coverage. The game seems to always give the edge to the defense on who can get to the ball first.

I've got the Giants this week. Can't wait to see who my new opponent will be!
 
Well I'm gonna have to be careful with those sniping dbs even with one on one coverage I don't mind interceptions on bad throws but I hate ridiculous ints.
