Well, a game i should have won.
The jags were kept in the game because of 3 titans turnovers. It was 14-0 when my punt returner didnt respond to my y button and didnt fair catch, therefore he got rocked, muffing the ball and the jags picked it up and scored. A vince young int. gave the jags a FG going into halftime, 14-10. The titans got the ball to start the 2nd half and drove for a score. Then he drove for a score, and it was 21-17, titans. I had the ball, i threw a wr screen to williams, and he decided to fumble, the jags got it, and they were in the endzone in a couple plays. I get it back,and VInce Young scrambles backwards into the endzone for a safety. That was the end. Jags win 26-21.
Very disappointed.

STORYLINE:
Fred Taylor:21 att, 126 yards, 1 TD
Jaguars: 17 POINTS OFF TURNOVERS

Cant wait for the rematch

In one of the best season opening games in recent history the Titans take on the Jags at home on a clear day in Tennessee.

The jag win the coin toss and that was about the only thing they did right in the entire first half. Going 3 and out on their first drive.
Titans struggled on their first drive after Young takes a sack from Reggie Hayward. But it didnt take long for the Titans to shake off the off season jitters as Young hits Justin Gage on a post pattern and he proceed to dust the Jags DB for a 80 yard TD.

"Yeah that was my zone," Says MLB Just Durant after the game. "I tripped a little on my turn and he just beat me. No excuses get got me that time."

Later in the second quarter after 3 straight first down plays Vince Young hits his newly aquired TE Crumpler for a 6 yard TD pass putting the Titans up 14 -0 with 4:19 left in the first half.

"At this point I knew our defense had to step it up. Our offense was struggling and I knew we had the talent to create points by ourselves." Mathis Stated.

And create they did as after another 3 and out by the Jags offense Clint Ingram simply unloads on Chris Carr on the punt return causing a fumble at the 12 that was picked up and ran in by T. Williams.

"That was a turning point in the game. I felt that if our defense could create we should be able to also. I put a lot of the blame on myself for trying to force some early passes." Said Garrard at the post game conference.

With 2 minutes left in the half and 1 time out Garrard and his offense mounted an amazing drive that contained 4 first downs and was capped off by a Scobee 43yard FG with time running out.

2nd half starts out like the first did as Young hits Davis on a 20 yard strike in the back of the end zone. But unlike in the first halve the Jags offense comes alive with Fred Taylor leading the charge. Piling up over 126 rushing yards on the ground. Jags counter after the Davis TD with a 10 TD of their own by Taylor.

It doesn't stop there Jags strip Williams on the ensuing drive and score again this time punching it in with Jones-Drew from 1 yard out early in the 4th leaving the score 26 - 21 Jags. The defense stayed hungry getting a safety after Young tried to escape the blitz with 2:16 left in the 4th and with that the Jags kneel out the clock for the close win.
 
You missed Ravens 26, Texans 0 on the update Jagged just want to make sure u saw it. Since u have the jag-titan game up already

My opponent (popemogoth) and I are having troubles playing our match. Games keep dropping. =/ So what do we do if we can't get it working?
 
I'm exiting the League so if anyone wants the Cowboys it's available. This game is so BS man I've tried playing awwJayzin 4 times and every single time we get disconnected. The first 3 games were ranked then I asked him if we could do an unranked game as it has been reliable in previous games with other ppl. I'm done with playing this Bug ridden game online.

I've had about 2 random d/cs before this happened and I've played more than a dozen games. I really doubt it's either of our connections too. I really hope they patch this crap up with the second patch and/or the DLC. =/

I don't know what to do about people leaving after they have already started the season. Do I keep the records intact? But.. if someone loses 5 in a row and decides to drop out because they are whiny little kids, nobody will want to pick up the spot. Get what I'm saying?

True, but I still feel some people will be unwilling to join with a losing record. To some people, Madden is more than a game.

Personally, I think people should just man up and play their games. I know it's "just for fun", but by signing up for the league, we're all committed to each other, and without going psychotically overboard, there is a level of responsibility here.

As far as dealing with dropped games, I think the best way to combat it (until a patch or other fix is handed down) is to try again, starting with the score at the end of the last completed quarter. That way, even one quarter at a time, you get through your game...and you don't lose a lead or anything.

I know shinryuu and I had a drop in our first game, but we were able to get through the 2nd game. Other than everybody deeply examining their connections (router settings, firewalls, modem resets, STOP DOWNLOADING PORN, etc.) to make sure it's nothing on our end, I don't know what else we can do.

I honestly thought the drop was my fault with shinryuu because I was completely logged out of Live and my modem reset. But then he told me he was disconnected too...so I don't if the game is death pinging everyone's connections or if it's just us. I think it's easy to blame EA, but we should make sure we're running clean too. If you're not CERTAIN that you're connection is flawless, I'd say look into it. Anything to help this game run as smooth as possible.

I agree. Not to go overboard but no one made you sign up for the league. You did it on your own. So either make some time to play your games or dont waste everyone's time by signing up and then ghosting for 2 weeks.

Its a half hour a week. Thats it. Stereotypes aside most of us do actually have a girl friend and full time job plus friends. We are all busy. So we are all in the same boat here.
 
Agreed. Some of us may even have full time careers, social events to go to and women to entertain but by keeping the lines of communication through e-mail and possibly even text messages we can play our games.

Now N8...if only I could get a response from Talon in our mlb league then we would get somewhere.

what u can do if u disconect then just play unranked n say u get to half just play till half of the other game then add the scores up its not that hard thats what me and ivanctores did
 
Shin and pope why didnt you guys do it the easy way?

Just play it quarter by quarter. I dont understand why he dropped out in the first place.

If it drops in the 2nd start the game over and pretend its the 2nd. If it drops at the end of the 3rd play one quarter and call it the game. You could have played 4 first quarter games and called it a day. Its a pain in the ass but hardly impossible as pope is making it seem. Sometimes you simply cant connect to certain people for unknown reasons but if you could connect with anyone else it was a simply solution because you still have everyone else in the league.

All you had to do is write down the score and continue playing. Its not like we are some type of official tourney and we need it by the book or anyone would have made a big deal out of it.

Its obvious by what Pope posted that the Eagles were going to win the game out scoring Dallas 17-7.

IMO Pope is just using it as an excuse beacuse apparently he keeps losing. Dont get me wrong if he wants to quit that's his business I just think its a crap reason.

Hahaha...that video is hilarious! Although, the truth is, Bruce just beat double coverage on that play. The other 9 guys, he just outran. Still, not something that would ever happen in real life, but I don't know if the game is so sophisticated that defenders can strategically coordinate their efforts.

I mean, when you put double coverage on a receiver, I doubt the game differentiates between one guy staying a bit looser and waiting in case the receiver breaks deep, while the other really guards the short game. It just puts 2 defenders on him with the coverage you chose.

There are things about the AI in this game to complain about, but to me, this is exagerrating. The game was never meant for that kind of situation, and I doubt the devs were sitting around saying "hmmm...what if somebody put all 11 guys in man coverage on one receiver???" If these guys think Blitz plays better...then go play Blitz.

I disagree completely. It simply proves that ea has piss poor animations and AI. The fact of the matter is there is 11 guys programmed to stop 1 guy. It should be impossible for that one guy to ever even come close to winning.

And no your are completely wrong when you say he just beat double coverage at the very least he beat 7 man coverage as he needs to beat Both DB's, Both Safety's and all 4 linebackers. And lets not forget that its against the steelers who have really good above average DBs. So where is Troy in all of this?

Its not exaggerating at all because all defensive backs and all linebackers should be programmed to stop receivers. Also notice that he was in bump and run coverage which would be that Bruce should have had to at the VERY LEAST break through 2 people which he did not. Hell even at the end of the play you can clearly see that no one even jumped to bat the ball away.

And come on dude this happens in madden all the time. Remember when Vick could literally run around for a good 40 seconds and not get tackled? Or how about how people use Hester now? Running backwards for 30 yards into their own endzones and then racing out?

Madden AI is piss poor it has always been and it will always be. There are examples of it all over the places.

Well, you mostly missed my point, but whatever. I make no argument that it's ridiculous, but from a numbers standpoint, there are only 3 players on the Steelers defense with a faster speed rating than Bruce 87 (Townsend 88, Taylor 94, and Polamalu 93). So, literally, Bruce should be able to just beat the other 8 guys out of the gate. And like I said, those 11 AI defenders are not coordinating a strategy of how to shut him down. They're just chasing after him, covering him as they would one on one.

I'll say without question that both Taylor and Polamalu should be able to shut Bruce down, but I'm almost willing to bet that had they been put on him...even in single man coverage, they would have. I can't really tell due to the blurriness, but where were Taylor and Polamalu on that play? Maybe they got blocked off by the other goons clogging up the field.

As I said, you can't expect the game to anticipate that kind of situation. Show me a receiver with a rating of 60 consistently beating Polamalu one on one, and then we can all say that the AI is retarded.

Also, do we not see plenty of DBs make insane reads and intercept the ball in this game? I know this doesn't really speak well for the consistency of the AI, but at least it sort of balances it out in a way. You win some, you lose some. It's not always realistic, but at least you stand a chance on both sides of the ball.

I have other complaints about this game (mainly with the online league system), but overall I think the gameplay is pretty solid. Could it be better? Sure. But it's not broken like some people would have you believe.
 
I have no one to play this week. Is it alright with the OP if I just play IAmMiroki and it won't count if he wins or loses but it will count for me?

OK, I sent you a PM, but I thought I'd restate it here. Basically, my previous match against the Cowboys' owner said he'd give me the win, I'm willing to take it but if you're available the rest of this week, which sounds like you aren't, then we can "replay" this week.

Hope that made sense. In other words, if we don't play, I'll be taking the win rather than delaying the whole schedule which might throw some people off. I thought that would clear things up since I technically played my game already. Again, we can still play if you're available, but you made it sound like you're only available those previous two nights. Sorry for not getting to you earlier..

One day left until we start the third week. There are still 11 games that need to still be played in Week 2. This is not good at all. I'm not going to force the teams who are responsible and get their games in on time to wait for everyone else. Don't fall behind. Keep up with the league.
