CAG Madden 09 League - LEAGUE CLOSED...I'M DONE

Yeah, I'm sure I can find someone. It's just that, after almost 4 years on Xbox Live, the friends I know personally combined with friends met through Live and CAG friends adds up and there are 100 people, most of whom I don't want to delete.

Actually, fuck it. I don't need CAGCOD4 anymore since I rarely play the game and I have most of the regulars on my list now anyway.

Week 4: 5 of the 7 games have been played already. Great job guys! It looks like we're basically waiting on talonthrawn and itlnstln...again. Come on guys. You've got 2 days till the deadline. I know you're behind more than just week 4, but let's try to catch up.
 
HotLt- I don't think I will be available tonite unless I stay up late and play after midnite tonite. Fridays are usually bad for me. So that leaves Saturday morning. Let me know.

We both stunk imo. We both threw 2 or 3 really bad picks to each other with opportunities for more. I also missed a 20 something yard field goal. I really need to practice :(. I'm 1-3 anyways with my deserved losses from the commish so my chances in this league are slim anyways.
 
Yeah I did terrible, especially in the beginning. GG though, bah I did a stupid play at the end, should've just went for the hail mary.

"Simmed" losses can still be played. You should still be contacting the winner of those games to find out if they would like to play them. Although it is optional, I've set it up in a way that it's in their best interest to play the game (see OP for detailed explanation).

Also, stop your crying. 1-3 with the Cowboys is nothing. I'm 0-4 with the Bills, and I still feel like I can turn a corner. My losses haven't been embarrassing, and if I can just figure out how to get my offense moving, I'll be much more dangerous. There's no reason to give up on the season this early.

Wonderlai or Pitfall if you wanna play our games I'm on most nights after 5 and just PM me and I'll play as long as I'm not playing something with my fiancee.
 
One more thing, and I don't really mean to harp on you, but this would just make my life a lot easier. When reporting your score, please put the teams, rather than the usernames. For the most part, I remember who you guys play as, but considering I manage a Madden league, play in another Madden league, and manage the MLB 08 league, it's really easy to get mixed up. I'd really appreciate it.

100% agree. It hasn't happened too much (if at all) in my Madden League, but damn its annoying. Its AWESOME when people put BOTH username and team.
Hopefully we'll see the next weeks schedule soon! I'm crazy busy this week but I can fit in a game tomorrow evening (after 6-maybe) and Saturday after 3.

Me and Azumangaman tried to play but we couldn't connect. Any solutions besides changing nat port to open (or however its phrased as, I think you guys get what I mean)?
 
I think you have to make it open. Mine is finally open, so I should be able to play with everyone that I couldn't before.
There should be guides on how to do it in the General 360 thread.

Week 1

Cowboys - 42
Colts - 7

It was a good game, but I had some unfortunate breaks: tipped passes for INTs and out of bounds call overturned into a completion that was clearly a result of bad Madden physics. The receiver's foot magically was pushed back inbounds when it was undoubtedly headed out. This turned a 10-7 game into a 17-7 game right before halftime, and he was getting the ball back at the start of the second half.

I can't blame anything on talon, though. I've won games under circumstances like this, so I know it's not his fault. He played a good game.
 
yeah man you had some tough breaks, you had a couple INT's right off your finger tips and a few catches that your guys didn't come down with. I've been on your end and i know it sucks but good game and I'll rematch anytime.
 
Great job getting these games played guys! Keep it up! I sent itlnstln a PM yesterday, and he promised me he would get caught up. So, hopefully we can get all these unplayed games taken care of.
 
ivan are you able to play tomorrow night after 8 at all? if not it might have to wait until friday night cause i got work 4am all week except on weds. let me know whats good for you

Patriots - 0

A very defensive game in a snowy Foxboro stadium. Both teams combined for 149 yards of offense and only 6 offensive points.
 
Good game to itlnstln. You scared the shit out of me at the end! I'm just lucky to have won the coin toss in the 4th quarter. It's sad. I'm still not even happy with this win. I've never seen a team drop more balls (both on offense and defense) than the Bills. I was up 10-0 at the half, but I really feel like it should have been 14-0. That dropped TD early on was fucking ridiculous.

After that though, I just started taking unnecessary risks, leading to INTs. I wasted another redzone opportunity, and then as always, my defense just fell apart. I don't know how I can run a freaking quarter defense, with double coverage on most receivers (when I wasn't blitzing I mean), and STILL get burned on long passes. If I had lost this game, I probably would have chucked my copy of Madden out onto the street. That's why when I got the ball in OT, I wasn't going to take any chances. Fortunately, my running game was working.

Never the less, I still need to fucking play smarter. I did start to feel like my playcalling was getting stale, but honestly, I should have stuck with the run the whole game. It just feels so "nonglamorous" in this game. Good game to you though, itlnstln. You almost stole that one from me.

Week 5: Indy 17 - Titans 10

Messy game against pitfallharry219. I had a couple of red zone attempts that I blew, one where he stood me up on 4th and inches at the 1 and an interception toward the end of the game.

There was one weird part when he was about to run into the end zone with Manning and fumbled, but when he tried to challenge the play it looked like it was challenging the spot of the ball rather than the fumble. Anyway, good game--enjoy the top of the division!
 
WEEK 5

COLTS - 17
TITANS - 10

The main highlights here were a good goal line stand on 4th down by my D and on the possession right after that, a 97 yd TD pass to Reggie Wayne that should've been about a 8 yd pass. Somehow, he broke a tackle and went the distance.

Something else that was weird: Manning scrambled for about 12 yds and dove into the endzone, fumbing somehow. After the short return and tackle, I challenged the play. For some reason, the game reviewed the spot of the tackle. I guess it's not a big deal now, but had I ended up losing after this, I might be a little pissed. ;)

RECAP Giants 27 @ Steelers 10

This game can be summed in a couple of words: Jacobs and Ward. The GMEN completely dominated the line of scrimmage and ran for 230 yards plus and averaged just shy over 13 yards per carry. I dont have the final stats because the game froze at the replay screen but here are a couple of mind blowing stats.
Eli threw no more than 5 passes the entire game and one of them was a 25 yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burres. Jacobs ran for almost 200 yards and Derrick Ward ran for about 60 yards.

1st quarter Giants receive the ball and on the first play of the game Jacobs scores on an 81 yard scamper and immediately silences the home crowd on the first play of the game!
Pittsburgh gets the ball back and mounts a drive that gets stuffed on a key third down play where a hard tackle by the Giants knocks the ball out of the Pittsburgh receivers hand for what would have been a first down. Pittsburgh makes the field and the game is 7-3.

Giants get the ball and punt after two sacks on Manning. Pittsburgh gets the score and I think at this point the Giants get an INT. Giants get the ball back and Jacobs again dominates with a pass to Burress putting the Giants in the endzone making it 14-3.

Pittsburgh gets ball on the kickoff and Steelers punt. Giants get the ball back in Pittsburgh territory and immediately threaten. Jacobs breaks of a 20 yard run to about the Pittsburgh three but fumbles the ball and the Steelers recover.

Steelers get the ball back with some momentum but Roethlisberger throws a costly pick to James Butler and the Giants again score a TD with Jacobs and make it 20 - 3 at the half due to a missed PAT.

Steelers get the ball at the half and mount a long drive with a good balance of rushing and passing to tie it up on a short pass to Fast Willie making it 20-10. Giants get the ball back and immediately start pounding the ball but now some of the load is passed to Ward who scores on a 30 yard impressive run after breaking a couple of Steeler tackles. Game is effectively over at 27-10 in the 4th quarter.

It was a good game, but I was not going to give up - thankfully you threw the INT in the endzone and C-J's hands are "sticky" enough to grab a pass in triple coverage. I knew your run game was going to take over after you won the toss in OT, but still had to try and stop the pass, JIC. Oh well, Good Game!

I only ran the ball so much because it was so successful and i really wanted to avoid turnovers.

That was a pretty good game though. I had a TD the first drive, but your blitzes started to scare me. Russell had like, 3 INTs, all in the second half I think. I thought it was funny when my guy had an INT, but you flipped him in the air and you recovered the fumble. What surprised me was that you didn't make that one FG attempt.

You shut down my offense the whole second half and I could not cover Heap. But yeah, GG.

Sorry dood. This is the absolute worst time for a red ring but at least the arcade is so cheap that getting a replacement wouldn't hurt the wallet too bad.
 
Actually it is because I just paid off the last of my medical bills on my broken hand. I wont have enough for a 360 until around the 25th or so. Son of a bitch. I also broke a controller in anger. Luckily I had 5 already because I knew I was going to throw one at some point.

Wow...I'm glad I checked this before responding to your PM. That would have felt like throwing sand on your wounds. Sorry dude. I just got through an RR of my own. Luckily, Amazon had the Arcade + Lego Batman for $200 deal going on, so I "upgraded" and resold my old one when it came back.

Already tried it. After I calmed down of course, cause I wasn't in the best state of mind to try anything at first. Middle of a Fallout 3 quest and BOOM. Piece of crap, I feel lucky in one state though that this is my first RROD ever but it still sucks. I swear as soon as I either pick up a new one or get mine back from repair I'll get caught up on my games.

It's cool man. You've had no problems playing your games, and everybody's entitled to a little bad luck now and then. I know you'll get caught up.
