maybe instead of simming we could go out and find someone responsible to take his team
Thats the best idea. UNLESS he's just not available for a couple weeks and he'll be back. But Dante is on CAG all the time as well as being on XBL all the time.

Yea the colts are a decent team should find some takers. On anothernote got my end war keys in my mail about 20 mins ago. Of the three people who showed interest matt and ivan were both unbeaten. So to be fair to matt I just counted week 1 games for point totals. But Ivan nipped him there. So Ivan enjoy your code

RECAP Giants 21 Saints 14

This game was another tightly contested game. Turnovers, and big plays were the keys to the game. It was also the Jacobs v. Bush show with both scoring on long plays, Bush on a 78 bomb from Brees down the middle of the field and Jacobs on a 64 yard touchdown run right up the gut. Saints had 5 turnovers to the Giants 2 although the Giants had a costly turnover in the redzone to start the game.

Stats
GIANTS
Eli 11 for 16, 114 yards, 1TD, 2INTs

Earth aka Brandon Jacobs 16 rushes for 105 yards, 2 TDS (1 65 yard TD)

Boss 4 catches 45 yards, Plax 2 catches 28 yards TD

SAINTS
Brees 13 for 28 229 yards, 1TD, 4INTs, 1 Lost Fumble

BUSH -8 rushes for 45 yards 1TD, 4 catches for 119 yards, 1TD (78 yards)

Nice job getting this game played guys! I'll be making a decision on Dante sometime tonight. Actually, the Cowboys may be up for grabs too, because I haven't heard anything from talonthrawn either. I sent him the 24 Hour Warning PM and an individual one to make sure he even knows he's in this league. I don't think he's posted in the thread since he said he'd take the Cowboys. Who knows if he's checked the thread since then.

Thanks!

I don't know what happened with Talon. I played a game against him in Jagged's league without issue and we also setup our game here fine. He got disconnected in the 2nd quarter, I waited like half an hour and he didn't return and I have yet to get a response from him to any of my messages on XBL.

I don't know, it's odd.

On a side note, I contacted Talon about our game in MLB the Show and he did get back to me to try to set up a time to play

jlarlee and I played. He dominated me most of the game, but I stopped him in the red zone and held him to field goals. I couldn't get anything going on offense. Still, I had a 7-6 lead with 2 minutes left, but he charged down the field after a great punt return and scored his only touchdown with 17 seconds left to win.

Patriots 12, Chargers 7

Good game, with a surprisingly good connection given that he's in Korea and I'm in California. But why must all my games in both leagues be nail-biters?

Just want to welcome our newest member pitfallharry219 to the league! He will be taking over the Indianapolis Colts for DanteMayCry (who never responded to any messages, and will hereby be known as DouchebagMayCry. I encourage you all to blacklist him from any CAG function/activity)

Best of luck to pitfallharry! He seems like a very reliable guy, and is committed to playing Madden for the next 3-4 months. If you play the Colts in the first 3 weeks, feel free to contact him to set up your game time!
Hey, thanks for the welcome. Actually, it's pitfallharry219, but thanks just the same.
Sorry, don't even know how I did that, lol. Too many distractions I guess. Now fixed :)
n8, im good anytime this week after 8. let me know when you wanna play.
How about tomorrow (10/13) at like 9 pm est? I've got a game for Azu's league at 8, so it would be nice if I could get two games played in one sitting, haha. Just let me know.

I was going to PM pitfallharry after I got back from the gym, but he messaged me while I was gone. It's nice to have someone contact me rather than never show up for the game and then ignore all future messages.

scrub...where are you? I see you online (and in Madden, no less), but you're "away"? Great! And now you just signed off. What the hell dude?!? I've been waiting 20 minutes. I do have things to do to get ready for my trip, man. If you're not on by 9:30, congratulations, you earned yourself a loss. Blowing me off two days in a row is not cool.

i was on from 850-920 and it said you were offline the whole time and had been off for 20 mins, im on now, my live is slow for some reason but it should work

Well, my week 3 is better than week 1 & 2 score wise. Still winless though. Played pitfallharry219 and he won, 13-10. I went for it on 4th twice. The first time I was golden, 2nd time not so much, and that was when the game was on the line.

Yeah, it was 13-10. There was an INT that was overturned because I roughed the QB, and then at the end of the 1st half, a fumble by jp0213 was overturned by the booth. They made the right call, but I wouldn't have minded if they got it wrong. It was still a very good game, and we should play again sometime. Hopefully, we'll meet in the playoffs.

Haven't really had any contact from the Giants (ivan) since I saw him on XBL and he was too busy to play.

Also, still nothing from Talon. No idea what's up with him.

I was supposed to play Talon Monday, and I had something come up. I offered to play him later that night or Tuesday and I've never heard back from him since.

Matt Young, I messaged you on XBL last night around 8 since you said you wanted to play, but I never heard back from you.

Yeah, like I said, I showed up at 7 Eastern and waited for a half hour since we agreed on 7-8 eastern time and not a specific time, but you never messaged me till after that half hour was up and I had to go. But it's all good... You couldn't make it Monday, and we couldn't get on at the same time yesterday, but it's game on in 10 minutes.

I just finished my game with Matt Young.

Colts - 23
Chargers - 7

Rivers threw 3 INTs. Joe Addai had 88 yds on the ground. Time of possession told the story of the game (14:00 to 6:00).

Good game, Matt. That TD at the end of the first half was ridiculous. The game might've been different if that hadn't happened.

I am so incredibly pissed off right now. Not at pitfallharry, but at the game. And most people can tell you, I'm usually pretty lighthearted and laid back. I don't mind losing due to skill, but I have never lost like this. I got fucked over by the game so many times.

My line was like Swiss cheese, letting everything through. I got called for a holding penalty on an incomplete pass after that line let a guy through for a sack, making it 28 yards for a first down. Then, while pitfallharry was able to complete almost every pass, some into triple coverage, I threw to a wide open guy when a reception would have likely meant a tie game at 7-7, and somehow I got picked.

With 18 seconds left in the half after that, what happened next?

http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/1682880

After about the 3rd quarter I just gave up. It was clear that the game was giving me no chance. My O-line did nothing, and my D-line let Joseph Addai through no matter which play I picked. I wanted to snap the disc in half.

Colts 23, Chargers 7

Good game, pitfallharry.

After playing you in NCAA 09, I know you are better than that. Another crazy play was the punt return where you laid my guy out, he fumbled, and we both just stayed on the ground for what seemed forever before my guy picked it up.

Yeah, there was that, too. And just to clarify, when I said, "I don't mind losing due to skill", I didn't mean to imply that I was better than you, just that my performance was affected by things out of my control rather than just my skills.

Week 3
Oakland Raiders - 17
New Orleans Saints - 35

It was really a close game until the 4th. I had the lead and I blew it by throwing a INT-TD.

The way you play pisses me off. You play 4 and 5 WR sets, almost 90% of your run plays were RB draws on those sets, and you occasionally switched Colston to match up with my 2nd or 3rd CB. I'm not calling cheese, but it was really annoying. Some of your INTs were just holycrapnoway. My slot reciever (Lelie or Higgins) would be open on a streak route and your FS would do a 180 turn and catch it when I threw in the inside. This happened at least 3 times. I could understand the other INTs, but those ones really bothered me. I did lose the game and ultimately it was because of my faults (I had a lot of underthrown balls to open people in the deep field). Again, I don't want to call cheese, but I'm just saying. It's questionable.

Saints- 35
Raiders- 17

I try to use my offense to its compatibalities. I try to use matchups that favor my offense. I have figured out that i can only run the ball with Reggie if I get guys out of the box and have him in open field. If you watch the saints play, they run lots of draws to get Reggie in open field.
The INT's were your fault. I was running quarter 3 deep cover 3, and you were throwing it up to the slot, and my safety Kevin Kaesviharn made a couple of great plays. On the other picks, you threw right to my zone defense.
After all, we did turn the ball over a combined 11 times. You threw 6 picks. And Reggie Bush fumbled 3 times.

No, I understood what you were saying.

Week 3
Packers - 14
Giants - 10

Each team had an early turnover to start the game before several long, sustained drives led to the scoring. Things got exciting at the end when I threw a foolish interception while trying to run out the clock. Thankfully with the Giants driving to win it, Kevin Boss lost a fumble on the Packers 20 to effectively end the game.

Yeah, again, some of the INTs were my fault and I already admitted that, but some of them were obnoxiously intercepted by your safety. There were times where it was one on one with your safety and my guy had a step ahead, but your safety would make a remarkable 180 turn to snatch the ball. This isn't your fault, but it isn't mine either. It was my fault when I read your press coverage wrong thinking it was press man coverage where instead was a zone and your CB would drop to cover the flat.

I have watched the Saints as many of their games are televised here in LA since Bush is a USC alum, so thats really retarded for you to say that. Sure, the Saints run draw plays for Bush, but they aren't always in shotgun when they use draw plays. Why not use draw plays in the singleback formation? Probably cause it won't be as successful, huh? It's of course easier to run it in the shotgun formation because you have linemen and I only have 4, with a linebacker who always got blocked easily. If I put more in the box, you would air it out.

This wasn't an issue in the game, just an issue with me. I could've easily done the same, but I choose not to because I don't play like that. You even chose to run up the score when I showed no signs of coming back.

I sound like I'm whining so I'll just leave it be.

GG. My INT on the opening drive in your redzone was a killer. The Boss fumble to end the game was pretty stellar. I have never seen a defensive player in Madden pull a ball out of a guys' hands like your linebacker was able to. I could have swallowed the loss better if it was an INT but that kinda fumble was tough to take especially with my team driving down the field.

It was a well played game for all intents and purposes and you did a good job of milking the clock from the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter. At that point I could tell that you meant business and were intent on not letting me take the lead. I appreciate it as good football strategy but I am a little surprised that you began to kill the clock when the 4th quarter just started.

Did you spotlight Bush? With the Pats that would be enough to stop him

So I don't think I'll be getting my game in with Talon by the 18th (or ever). Saw him on XBL last night, sent him a message, no response. This is the third or fourth time this has happened.

Yeah, if Dante got booted, why hasn't Talon yet?
Bizzare
:)
Oh, and when the week 3 deadline comes around and if mine isn't played yet, give ItlStln the win. It'll be my fault because I can't connect to some people.

Week 4 soon?
Did you spotlight Bush? With the Pats that would be enough to stop him
I'd spotlight Bush and Colston several times with his drives. I'd even commit to the run sometimes. I'm not pissed that he used the draw play, I was annoyed that he would use several of his money plays. The QB sneak is a money play. FB dive is a money play, and in 4 WR sets, the RB draw play is a money. I didn't have trouble handling him since the 2 INTs I threw were the ones that cost the game for him.

It's all good though...

Ok well i dont know what to say, i only used the draw play once. I used HB dive, if thats what your trying to say. And I dont think my offense is suited to go into the I Formation with a TE and pound the ball, because Bush isnt that kind of back. I ran the hb dive play because you were in a 4-1 because your OLB's were manned up with the slots.
I was just trying to use my offense weapons. you could have changed to a different defense.

I tend to agree with bush on this one. He used the same strategies against me for the most part. He played a spread offense the entire game and I just made adjustments. I think generally the big plays by bush were to the outside or in the passing game.

It's all about adjustments and avoiding costly turnovers.

Yeah, I'm with neworlbush as well. He did similar things against me, and its quite similar to how the Saints play.
I play quite differently that the Vikings (well, not THAT differently) because Chilly can't playcall.

Thank you guys. Different teams have different playmakers, so their offenses need to be ran differently. When i played ivantorres, he made adjustments and shut me down pretty good. Azu also did, the second time I played him it was a close game.

All right guys, that's enough sour grapes. Playcalling is at each player's discretion. There is NO WAY we can expect everybody to play exactly as their team does in real life. Some people just may not like to play that way. The ONLY thing that I would consider "cheating" is obscenely rushing your plays, or taking advantage of some kind of in-game glitch (of which, there aren't many). Calling one play over and over again may be frustrating, but it's still on you to stop it. Even if you have to throw an "all out blitz" or a double team at somebody, the goal is to put yourself in a position where you're one step ahead of them. If they stay one step ahead of you, it's going to be a frustrating game.

With all that out of the way, I'm currently out of town, and won't be able to post the new schedule until Sunday (late Saturday at the earliest). Sorry, but that's just the way it is. I will also be making a decision on talon too. The reason he didn't get kicked when Dante did is twofold. 1. I know him from my MLB 08 league...and up until this past week, he's played every game without fail (makes me wonder what's going on now). And 2. Unlike Dante, he did respond to my PM's and assured me he was still interested in participating in this league. Having said that, if he doesn't get his games played by the time I get home, there will be an opening for owner of the Dallas Cowboys.

I see. No rush on the schedule. Your doing a kickass job as the Commish :)
I see. No rush on the schedule. Your doing a kickass job as the Commish :)
Thanks...week four schedule is now up by the way. Not sure how much it matters though. Both the Eagles and Lions have not played their week 2 or 3 games and talon is a no show (and is now officially dropped). And this was SUPPOSED to be the serious league.

[RANT]
I'm sorry guys (and OF COURSE this is not directed at all of you), but I NEED to see more effort, or I have no reason to continue this BS league. You guys were supposed to be the people who REALLY cared about playing in a league, and I don't see any difference from any other league that has ever existed.

You think I don't have anything to do with my time? You're going to come in here and swear to me how committed you are, and how fucking wonderful you are at getting your games played, and then this is all you show me? This is pathetic.

It's one game a week guys. One freaking game per week! I've done my absolute best to keep the thread up to date and looking good, and to get everybody involved in the "community" aspect of being in a league. I've reached out personally to every single one of you.

I can understand having conflicting schedules and having a difficult time finding a time to play. But when you set up a time, and then show up late, or stand the person up altogether, you're demonstrating your lack of commitment, and your overall immaturity. You all said you wanted to play some serious football. So, where the fuck is it?
[/RANT]

itlnstln failed to show up today. This was for Week 2 and this has been the 2nd time he hasn't shown up. The first time he didn't show up I waited a few days for him to tell me a new date but he never did. I had to PM him and then we got a new date, but once again he didn't show up...
