As the Vikes opponent this week, I strongly agree with this statement.

For possible opponents, I'm available any night (including tonight) after 5PM EST, although I'd have to check with my brother on when he's using his Xbox. My refurb comes in Wednesday, I believe.
 
Bears 37 - Patriots 14

The Bears bounced back nicely from last week with a convincing 37-14 win over the visiting Patriots. This one got out of hand pretty early with the Patriots turning the ball over on their first two drives, including a highly unrealistic fumble by Green-Ellis, who I'm pretty sure hasn't coughed it up since Pop Warner. Chicago capitalized and jumped out to a 17-0 first quarter lead. They added 10 more in the second quarter to lead 27-0 at halftime before easing up a bit in the second half. The Patriots added two 4th quarter TDs to make it a little more respectable (one to Hernandez, the other to Welker, which is impressive since I was keying on those two guys all game).

Cutler was not exactly precise, as he only went 9 of 19 for 266 yards, but he threw 3 TDs (all over 48 yards) and protected the ball.

Brady was a little more accurate, going 14 of 21 for 197 yards, 2 TDs and a pick.

Coming back from a long injury Forte didn't get much going at all, rushing 11 times for 27 yards, 14 of them on a TD which was his one nice run of the day.
Law Firm rushed 8 times for 36 with the aforementioned costly fumble.

The receiving trio of Knox (2 catches, 63 yards, TD), Hester (2 catches, 88 yards, TD) and Wayne (2 catches, 87 yards, TD) provided remarkably even production. Wayne of all people had one of the goofier drops I've ever seen on a sure touchdown when he was uncovered down the sideline, though he atoned later with a nice long TD into double coverage.

Brady's leading target was Hernandez with 4 catches for 49 yards and a TD, Welker had 3 for 37 and a TD.

Between the two teams a remarkable 14 players caught a pass (6 Bears, 8 Patriots) so let no one say the ball wasn't spread around. :D

DRC was finally held without a pick, though of course he was the one who scooped up the fumble, which was forced by Briggs. Chris Harris had the INT, which he returned 75 yards before Danny Woodhead chased him down from behind.

gg Darth! You definitely caught a tough break with that early fumble and then the pick on the next drive, it kind of spiraled out of control from there. I wish I'd been a little more efficient on offense (settled for 3 FGs), but hard to complain with a result like this. Good luck the rest of the season!

Yeah, it was bad off the break. That pick Harris had was a pretty Cutleriffic decision on my part, just tried to force it up the seam and Harris was just waiting for it. I played Meriweather like crap too. Toward the end of the game I started to kinda' get a feel with what was going on with your D, but you used Urlacher pretty well and I just couldn't get the run going at all. GG, NFC should make for a pretty interesting race.

Well, this probably will be my last game with the Patriots for the season, uber will be subbing in for me from now on and probably drafting for me due to the fact I wont have an xbox until my household good shipment comes in.
I'll be checking in regularly via phone to keep you guys updated for any possible changes.
 
Just wanted to let you know I'm still in. I'm at a work conference this week with no internet. I haven't had time to read the thread but I assume my last opponent got my PM's about not being able to play him. I will be back late Thursday night so it looks like I need a sub this week too. If you end up pushing the deadline back a day I will play otherwise please have a sub play for me.

can i get a sub? I have a lot going on with finishing plans for the wedding thats the 12th... Best man just got notice he cant leave his naval base so im one wedding party member down and hella stressed... not sure if I will be here thursday evening late. Today or tomorrow please?

I realized after that I totally should have tanked Schaub's QB Rating since he's the only one ahead of Cutler, but instead I through for 366 yards and 4 TDs with no picks. Oops... :bomb:

I don't believe we've had any volunteers yet. Feel free to grab anyone who might be around, at this point in the season I'm less concerned about records matching than with getting these games played.

I guess there's a chance venom might be back this week, but I haven't heard anything firm, and I'm proceeding under the assumption he won't be.

Most of you are in both leagues and would probably see the other thread, but yeah, Verizon finally got my internet up after nearly 2 weeks. The Chargers are able to resume their quest for 0-16!
 
I am still alive, My Xbox is definitely going to be here by Sunday. So I'll be getting back into the swing of things. Also Thanks to everyone that subbed in for me while I was gone.

I have my own xbox again and need to get both of my league games in tomorrow before the deadlines. Both need subs. I'll be home after 4-5:00 (or maybe all day if I get lucky with snow...not counting on it!). Both teams are rather good (7-2 Seahawks in League 1, 8-4 vikings in League 2) so if one of you top-tier people wants to rape me, so be it D: Posting this in both leagues. If someone's up to it they could sub for both. The League 2 game is more important to me if we have trouble scheduling one or the other, if a priority is needed.

As redworm has pointed out a few times, the Vikings are mostly 8-4 by virtue of subs, so I don't necessary think that needs to be a top tier player. Grab whoever you can get.
 
Just an update:

I think I'll have to officially be dropping from the league, but believe me I don't want to. There are a couple reasons why It'll be awfully difficult to join back up:
1) Living here is expensive, and until October when I'm living in a seperate house, I don't think a 360 is the most likely option, unless I can find a deal in the future for cheap.
2) The internet connection here at most times is brutally slow, and unless I stayed up till 3-4 am every night my local time, I wouldn't be able to play at all anyway.
It's more of #2 being a factor as the internet connection on campus is pretty brutal for just surfing the web, I can't imagine the brutality of playing Xbox Live.
Its worth noting that the next 2 years (as of October) I'll be in a place that should have top quality internet speed so in the future (for Madden 12+13) there should be no problem for me playing consistently then. It really sucks because I certainly don't want to leave, but there are a series of factors that aren't on my side in this one.

I look forward to joining you guys in the future!
 
Sorry to hear that, man. At least I got to play you once in the other league. I'm guessing you'll still be on CAG/Facebook from time to time, right?

I'm back in the franchise now. I thought I needed an invite since I had been booted, but I was wrong. I can play week 14 tonight if we advance in time.
