CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!

I'll be going to Boston for the weekend and thus won't be available to do my playoff game until Sunday afternoon/night. Gotta make the girlie happy on what will be our valentine's day :p

I hope this doesn't hold anything up.

Jags sneak out a close one. I felt I played great but a few bounces were close to throwing that all away. The Madden gods couldn't stop me this time hah. I'm sure next game they strike me down.
My top DT decks Brady and my DT is out for the game. Cool bro.
lol... i got a good laugh from that. That was Madden telling u to take it easy on the Golden Boy

We're advanced. Madden screwed the seedings up (as they do), so all 4 matchups are wrong. Not like it was hard to see that coming.

Broncos (3) at Texans (1)
Giants (3) at 49ers (1)
Jaguars (5) at Bengals (2)
Panthers (4) at Bears (2)

I really don't get how Madden manages to screw up playoff seeding every time in Online Franchise and yet it works perfectly Offline. Makes no sense.

Lol I thought that as well. I couldn't believe it but didn't check yet how long he's out.

Also hot tip BigAT, when his wr goes in motion he's tossing it. He does it 85% of his run plays. Maybe you know how to stop it.

Edit: maybe 75 is more app. It's above 50 that's for sure.

GG again Cru. I told BV about a week ago I need to trim one of my leagues out. This is going to be the one. It's definitely not because of the loss, I really don't care. I'm not going to be bothered by things I can't even control haha. I just don't have the time to put the work into 3 of them, and the other 2 I've obviously put a ton more time into already so I'd like to stick with those. Solid job running things here BV. Smooth sailing from the start.

edit: And whoever takes over the Jags are going to have a beast of a team. If they can add a piece to the secondary (3rd CB and/or safety) and stay healthy then there's no stopping this team. I honestly felt like I could get screwed 2-3 times a game, and I'd still be in it. I think I lost 2 fumbles in the first half of the game that just happened there and I was down by 9 with the ball. Hahah, thinking of it this team got screwed so bad this past game. I think at that point, down 9 with the ball I had Sims-Walker so open. Like, catch it and it's a TD open. And he steps out of bounds on the catch. Like those kind of things happened all game. Again, that's not why I'm leaving. It's hilarious at this point because I can't even blame myself for the loss, but like I was saying this team is beast. If you have better luck than I do than you'll be unstoppable.

edit2: Also I know Darth was looking for someone to draft for the Pats. I can do that for him when the time comes.

Still need awards votes from Deuce and Doom. If neither of you have time to do it let me know and we can get someone else.

Mog - Let me know when you want to play. I'm around all day pretty much.

i was actually lookin thru some stats right now but i dont think i'll be able to go as in depth as i want so i'm gonna have to remove myself from the committee...

I should be gameplanning for the basketball games i have to coach today but after winning the first two with scores of 34-2, and 39-14... i dont think my strategies need any real adjustments right now :D.

Oh me and Giants are gonna get our game in sometime between 10 and 11 p.m. EST tonight...and I'd be down to join the committee thing but I've got a test tomorrow so I probably won't be able to devote much time to the awards tonight. If no one steps in until tomorrow evening then I can do it unless the awards are already given by then. Bye everyone!

Most of them already have enough votes to be won from the 4 committee members who have voted, but there are a few ties that need to be broken. So far only 4 of the selections have been unanimous.

The other game is being played now, but I still haven't had any luck getting a hold of Mog, it sucks that this game is holding us up.

I'm sick as a dog and I need to get some sleep, but odds are I'll be taking off work tomorrow so I should be around all day. Mog, if you see this please let me know your availability. If anyone has a way of contacting him, that would be cool too.

The Bears just god sodomized 49-7. I'd blame the headcold (which certainly didn't help) but I think mostly I just turn into the world's most terrible player every time I go up against Mog, who remains just about the only longtime player in either league who I've never beat.

I don't know how it happens that Mog makes otherwise decent players (first Doom, who's better than I am) play like crap, but he always manages to. His dbs appear out of nowhere, lol

gg mog - No issue at all with the asskicking I was handed. I might have taken exception to you challenging the one long pass I had in the game up by 49 points, but I understand you wanted to keep your shutout alive.

We have advanced.

AFC: Broncos (BigAT) at Bengals (Cru)
NFC: Panthers (Mog) at 49ers (Sheriff)

I believe Sheriff is the only one of the group who doesn't already have a CAG Madden title. Good luck to all 4 of you.
Here's something to help you feel better, BV. No nudity, but I'll say this may be NSFW for some of you just in case:

Haha, thanks buddy, that did help!
Who do I have to contact to get my game in?
MasterAwesome. He was on XBL a few minutes ago, may still be.

I'll be along later tonight (thankfully the gf has given me a pass on v-day until later this week when my head doesn't feel like it's going to explode) with a summary of where we are in terms of teams for next season. We're going to need quite a few more owners though, so if anyone knows anyone who wants to join for season 2 please let me know.
Hollaaa I'll get on now if you wanna play mog.

Edit: Panthers/49ers getting played now.
Once you finish can you take the time to vote on those awards? You're the last one I'm waiting for.

He lost connection wit 3 min left in tha first half and I'm up 21 to nothing with tha ball on his 20 I'm about to score again can I count game?

Yeah I already told him he could....am I the only one who gets kicked off EA servers from time to time? It takes me back to the starting screen and when I try to get back on it won't let me connect cause of "high volume of traffic"...it's like the 3rd time it's happened to me.

Anyway...I'm just temp dropping so he can play CPU. I know you can technically still come back from 21-0 or 28-0 but not with the way I was playing. Man mog has figured out the secret to user-picks lol...its an auto user-pick no matter how hard of an interception it is.

No joke. You can't fit the ball in anywhere, he picks everything.

EA's never going to get their shit together with dropped games in Madden 11. I have only gotten kicked off the EA servers like you said once, and your issue may be uncommon (I really don't know) but it's ridiculous how many games in online franchises drop. That's why I wonder why people want dedicated servers; EA Sports seems to always have issues, while 99% of other Xbox Live games rarely, if ever, disconnect.

Oh wow I somehow missed your post about you waiting on my award votes BV...sorry man, just saw it now. I know you said there were a few categories you had ties on but I didn't know I was confirmed as an honorary council member or not. I'm posting on my phone (I won't be home til around 9-10 p.m. EST tonight), so I could either give a semi-informed list of votes in the next 30 min or so or if you don't mind waiting til tonight, I could devote more time to check records and stats in more detail. It's up to you...or if someone else is available sooner to vote on the awards then he can step up and do it. Sorry again BV, I don't know how I completely missed your post...and I would have voted much earlier if I knew I was actually indeed inducted to the committee.
can i join for the second season??

I want in on this league too I'm in ur other one also so can I join?
Yes and yes. Stay tuned I will have a post about available teams probably tomorrow.

2010 CAG League 2 Awards

The votes are in! Thanks again to our panel of me, uber, doom, siradam, and sheriff for casting their votes. There were a lot of close votes, some upsets, and some which were unanimous. Without further ado, the awards!

First up: Quarterback of the Year...

Matt Schaub - HOU

Despite the Texans being unowned for the latter half of the season, Schaub's gaudy numbers were too much for any other player in this category to overcome. Schaub received three votes while Jay Cutler received the other two.

Next up: Runningback of the Year...

Adrian Peterson - MIN

Our second straight award for a player on an unowned team. Seemingly everyone in the league used the Vikings at some point this season and the common factor was that all of them ran wild with AP. His ypc edge over DeAngelo Williams earned him three votes. Williams and Frank Gore got the other two.

Next award: Receiver of the Year...

Andre Johnson - HOU

The recipient of most of Matt Schaub's passes, Johnson's stats were so far and away ahead of the field that the voters couldn't ignore them. Johnson received four votes, the other going to DeSean Jackson

Next up: Linebacker of the Year

Patrick Willis - SF

Our first unanimous award, nobody even gave any consideration to anyone else, nor should they have. Willis was the clear choice here and a worthy winner.

Next: Defensive Back of the Year...

Chris Gamble - CAR

Another unanimous selection. Gamble's league leading 14 picks made the choice easy here, you knew someone from Carolina's ball-hawking secondary was coming away with some hardware.

Next award: Defensive Lineman of the Year...

Kris Jenkins - NYJ

Jenkins just beat out Julius Peppers, 3-2, with most voters citing his lead in tackles as well as the strips, as well as the fact that such numbers are very uncommon from tackles in a 3-4 defense.

Next: Return Man of the Year...

Devin Hester - CHI

This one was open and shut, another unanimous selection. Hester practically lapped the field in punt return TDs, accumulating more than the rest of the nominees comined. The two kickoff returns didn't hurt either.

Next up: Kicker of the Year...

Matt Prater - DEN

The voters went with quantity here, as the leading kicker got three votes even though Nedney was perfect. Nedney got one vote and Scobee got one as well (you'll never guess who each was from)

Now it's time for the big hardware.

Next award: Offensive Rookie of the Year...

DeMaryius Thomas - WR - DEN

This one was a bit of a coup since the first two votes in went to Sam Bradford, but Thomas made a late push, taking the last three votes cast to grab the award.

Next: Defensive Rookie of the Year...

Taylor Mays - SS - SF

Mays won in a close 3-2 vote over fellow safety Eric Berry. Voters cited him as the more complete all-around player given his lead in tackles as well as his sacks.

Next up: Offensive Player of the Year...

Jay Cutler - QB - CHI

Cutler won the QB booty prize in the category in which Schaub wasn't nominated (because Andre Johnson was) but he'll proudly claim a triumph here anyway. 2nd best QB ain't bad. Cutler took three votes with Tony Romo and Johnson grabbing the other two.

Next: Defensive Player of the Year...

Patrick Willis - MLB - SF

Willis was once again an unanimous choice, as all the voters agreed he was hands-down the best defensive player in the league this year. He has the distinction as the only player to win two awards unanimously.

And finally: Most Valuable Player...

Matt Schaub - QB - HOU

Voters stressed over giving the award to a player who was on an unowned team at the end, but ultimately Schaub's numbers were just too good to ignore as he prevailed in a close MVP race. Jay Cutler and DeAngelo Williams took the other two votes.

Thanks again to the panel for participating!

Whoa, two awards! That's the most one of my teams has ever received.

Thanks to the voters and bv for putting it all together.

Just checking in. I'm in Anchorage now, staying at the hotel I'll be in for the next week while we apartment shop although we saw our first place this afternoon and chances are we'll probably be moved in sooner then that. Just in time for the draft, boo yeah.

Unless something has changed, this is where we stand for season 2:

Definitely Open:
Jaguars
Jets
Bills
Broncos
Chiefs
Vikings
Falcons

Maybe Open:
Texans

If you want to switch teams, I will consider it on a case-by-case basis.

Also, if you are leaving the league and I don't know yet, please let me know.

New guys - Let me know who you want.
I will like to switch to the jets next season
You did just fine with the Panthers, lol. You're going to the Super Bowl after all.
