CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!

Alright SO...since I'm in charge of this S.O.B., I guess we need to figure it out quick! Saturday afternoon started out strong but I think Sunday night took the lead. I'd like to appease as many people as possible, so I'm open to hearing opinions on Monday too, but I'm sure that isn't too popular since weekends are usually easier for people. But everyone should proceed under the assumption that the draft is gonna be Sunday night around 9 or 10 p.m. EST. I wish more people would give their feedback on what works for them...I can only choose based on the opinions of 1/4 of the league or so.

Sheriff, since you'll be running the live draft I'll do what I've done in the other league and monitor the traded picks, etc as we go along.
 
I feel really bad for Matt though cause he gets the first overall pick...has anyone tried setting up the draft board through the actual franchise on the xbox 360? I would think that would have a lot less chance of messing up than doing it online through the EA website.

And is it easy to run the live draft? Like pausing the draft and changing the time in between picks and stuff...I'm sure it's pretty self-explanatory but I just wanna make sure so I don't mess up the most important day of the season for everyone :'(

You don't want to go down that road with me. Probably my most reviled game of this generation, and I've been a fan of the series since I could pick up a controller (FFVI was the first game I ever owned).

I loved ff13, I don't have as much patience for rpgs anymore and the linearity of ff13 was just what I needed. Also the combat system gets better and better the further you get along. By the time you unlock all roles for all your characters you'll love the combat system.

tired of hearing people bitch each time there is a draft and the website messes up, hint it will mess up and you will get the pick wrong

MA, make an online league by yourself and make it fantasy draft, you can see how the draft controls work by starting the fantasy draft
 
What about setting up a draft board in-game, redworm? I highly doubt I will be back by 9 Eastern, so the only way I'll be able to make a Sunday draft is if it rains, and I don't want that.
 
Yeah I think everyone knows by now that drafting via the website is buggy, but my concern is with pre-ranking the draft picks. I know the website again is faulty in regards to setting up your draft picks beforehand, but as far as I know...no one has tried to do it in-game before. I feel like it SHOULD work in game...but wondering if anyone has actually tried it.
 
Doom, I've been playing through FF13 extremely slowly in between WoW binges and other games, and I've been somewhat enjoying it. It's extremely linear and sort of dry, but I like it a heck of a lot better than 12 which felt like an offline, low-grade MMO with a terrible, terrible story. It's really one of those hate it or are "meh" with it type of games. (Maybe someone out there loved it?)
 
Alright let's go ahead and confirm Sunday at 9 P.M. EST for the draft then, sorry to whoever won't be able to make it. I asked around and it looks like pre-ranking in-game is bugged too unfortunately. So Matt, I think you're gonna end up drafting the highest OVR player with the 1st pick. There are 3 89 OVR players (2 defensive ends and a strong safety), so looks like you're gonna end up with one of those. Sorry man...it looks like SS is one of your main weak spots on your team, so hopefully you end up with Savage (the 89 OVR SS) in the draft.

Agreed way better than 12! I couldn't stomach that game at all.

Right here. I could go into a 50 paragraph dissertation about the ten billion ways that FF12 is a better game than FF13, but I don't think anyone wants that.
 
The Cowboys are going all defensive in this draft UNLESS in a later round there is a decent QB to develop for Romo's back up. Kitna retired :(

Also thinking about trading some pretty big names once the season starts ;)

Driver retired after season 2 in the other franchise, and Woodson was still around for season 3, though I'll probably lose him this offseason.

Heads up MA, you need to pause and change the pick times before the start of the round. It won't just automatically make the change, it changes at the start of a new round.
 
Yeah thanks Uber, I already went ahead and did what red worm suggested and started up my own franchise to see how everything worked. I've definitely mastered the art of drafting...so don't worry everyone! What do you guys think: 45 seconds for first 3 rounds, 30 seconds for rounds 4-5, 15 seconds for rounds 6 and 7? Something along those lines...or do you think 45 seconds is too much and we should just start off with 30 seconds and move down to 15 at round 4 or 5 or so?

I think the packers dropped al harris shortly after the roster we got set with on this league, I still have him (for one more season).
 
Sorry ballhawk but the morning of the draft is probably a little late to be changing up the time. Some people might have worked around their schedules to get the draft in at exactly 9 p.m. so I'm inclined to stick with that time. I'm open to hearing feedback from other people on whether or not 9:30 or 9:45 still works, but it isn't likely I'll change it unless I hear from a lot of people who are okay with it.

And Cool_iAM, I think you're good to join as the Falcons, but I'll wait until I hear from bvharris cause he knows about the available teams better than I do...I'm not sure if he's holding them for someone or not. You should find out soon so you can hopefully make it to the draft tonight at 9 p.m. EST.

I will not be at my Xbox for the draft time, which is OK...I didn't really put any research into the draft anyways. I'll try to be on the web one but if not, I'll work with what I'm given.

Picks in yellow are pre-existing trades. Picks in green are trades from the league.

Sheriff - How we've always done it in the other league is uber will pause the draft before each round so I can announce which picks are traded. If both players are there, then great, if not, it's the luck of the draw. If you have a pick for someone else and they're not there, just take the best available player. I'll keep track of the players who need to be moved and then you can go in and make the changes after the draft.

Also, you need to kick gb from the league so Ramesu can take over the Eagles.

Reminder to everyone that you probably want to drop you 7 lowest rated players before the draft of the game will drop them automatically. Write down who you dropped and you can pick them up afterwards.

The draft couldn't be rescheduled for me and I have the #1 pick, so I don't see that happening.

The Universal Studios thing isn't happening today, so I should be able to make the draft. I'll have a friend over and the draft is taking place during the NBA All-Star Game and WWE Elimination Chamber, but as long as I can do the first 3-4 rounds, I'll be okay with that.
 
Alright, joined the league in Madden, I also put in a join request on the Management site. New to the online franchise, but I've always wanted to get in. I'm pretty tech savvy so I should be able to work my way around things.
 
Alright I'll boot gb in a little bit, I'm a little busy right now but I'd expect him to be booted in an hour or so. And don't worry BV I'm gonna give you commissioner back after the draft...I'm so nervous my fingers might slip and I accidentally leave the franchise and the league is destroyed forever!!!
 
Oh yeah whoops...I forgot I took over for the time being. Well let me know once things quiet down a bit in your world and I'll hand the league back over. Since I'm new at this stuff...I'm probably gonna need your input on a lot of things. Like for one thing...should I let people go ahead and schedule/play their games immediately after the draft? Or is there a period of time where we need to sort things out like making sure the right draft picks are sent to the right teams and stuff?

Oh yeah and I actually just went ahead and booted GB a few minutes ago, so Ramesu go ahead and join as the Eagles whenever you want.

Well they'll actually be drafted by me, so the CPU wouldn't automatically drop anyone to make room for them. That's fine if you want to drop 9 though, assuming your roster is full.
 
The computer will only drop 7 players, regardless of how many picks you technically have. Traded draft picks aren't recognized by the game, obviously.
