CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!

Dick move or not, I'm done with this league. It's half empty at this point and not even the commissioner(s) care. I'm still full bore with the first league though. It was a good idea, but interest has decreased. Maybe next season we kick off with two league right off the bat and then decrease to one around February.
 
I do care. If you had a specific complaint I would be happy to address it. I happen to be very busy with work today and I know MA has been out of town.

I think we've pretty much acknowledged that this league won't be continuing after this season, if you want to leave now it's your right.
 
Hey fellas I'm back! I actually got back last night but it was kinda late and I had to play 2 games back-to-back in 2 other leagues then unpack then wake up early for class...which I've been in all day. As far as my game goes...Ramesu hasn't PM'ed me or anything yet so I went ahead and sent him an Xbox Live message last night asking if he wants to play today. I didn't get a chance to PM on here until like 15 minutes ago, so I'm sure we'll schedule something either today or tomorrow.

BV you can pass over commissioner at any point. And Pacer I dunno what you are so frustrated about...you didn't make any comments that warranted some kind of answer or response from a commissioner. I don't know if you were expecting one of us to reply back with a simple "Okay Pacer" or something...it's cool if you want to leave the league, but you can't attribute it to apathetic commissioners. Like BV said, I was out of town until late last night and was too busy to get on here until 30 minutes ago. The effort a commissioner puts into the league has to be a little give-and-take...it's rough being commissioners for a league where a new member drops every 5 days or so and 3-4 people have to be booted every week because they aren't trying to get their games in. There's only so much we can do when a lot of the members themselves don't even care. We've only hung on as long as we have because of the small group of committed members who have been active in scheduling their games and have even fortunately been subbing for other CPU teams.
 
Oh and I'll open up Free Agency at some point tonight or maybe tomorrow. I'll post the guidelines for the new people...but basically it's just gonna be by reverse power rankings order like we've been doing it.
 
It wasn't a shot at anyone in particular, especially MA and BV, so sorry if it came off that way. I'm not as into this one as the first and whenever I try to give it 100%, I end up running into an apathetic owner.

Instead of just playing the CPU yesterday, I text'd Kay and set up a time with him and then he never showed or even acknowledged another message about if he was running late. I'd rather just have the one league to worry about. It's for a number of reasons.

Kay has pretty consistently missed his games of late to the point where as far as I'm concerned he's done with the league. That said, the league is half empty right now as you said, and that's unfortunate but it is what it is.

Sorry it took me a while to get to this...

He's usually an active member on here but has been out of town a lot lately and has missed a bunch of games. I looked up his recent posts and he hasn't posted since Saturday. His post said he was out of town but that he'd be back on Sunday...so he should be home to play his game but since he hasn't posted on here in several days then he'll probably have to be booted for you to play the CPU. Hopefully you can get your game in tomorrow so we can give him one more day to try and get this thing scheduled.

Yea I'm flexible. I can only give him to 1 eastern tommorrow I have a busy evening coaching my youth team and since I'm on alaska time i won't be home from that until about 1130 eastern. I could play it that late if you don't mind advancing that late
 
Servers crashed in the 4th quarter of a good one between the Bears and Vikings, and are still down. Sigh.

I should have been prepared for this, but the Bears run D without Urlacher is somewhat less good than with him. Thankfully he's only missing this game.

Alright guys sorry for the delay but I'm opening up Free Agency for the 10 lowest ranked teams (with an owner OR a loyal/dedicated sub) according to the Power Rankings on the XFN site. I know we usually do 8 teams or so, but since we only have around 20 people in the league at this time, I'm thinking we can knock this out in 2 rounds which should be a day or two. So ONLY the bottom ten player-owned teams (listed below) are allowed to pick up a free agent at this time. You can only pick up ONE free agent. You don't necessarily have to drop a player from your team if your team doesn't have a full roster. But post on here with the free agent you're picking up as well as any player you might have dropped to pick up that free agent. So here are the bottom ten teams that are eligible to pick up a free agent at this time:

Lions
Redskins
Chiefs
Giants
Vikings
Patriots
Rams
Steelers
Bucs
Bengals

Tomorrow night around the same time I'll open up Free Agency for the rest of you guys. Until then...if your team isn't listed above then do NOT pick up a free agent yet. Thanks BYE!

MA I am the chiefs and I can't get ahold of flying skwirl and also I have drivers Ed at 6 and it don't end until 9 so I could get on to play the computer or a sub around 915 or so if you could just wait until after that to advance I would appreciate it
 
Ya I'll wait however long it takes tonight for jlarlee and Shaneduncan to play their games...sorry I'm in class til around 4 on Tuesdays/Thursdays so I don't get a chance to read any messages on here until then.
 
Alright I went ahead and booted the Lions and Giants so you two can play your games whenever. I don't understand the deal with Flying Skwirl...he doesn't play his game so I boot him, he rejoins the league, doesn't play again so I boot him again, he rejoins again...this goes on every week lol.

And guys...if we dip below 15 users for this league then I dunno if it's even worth finishing things out. Roughly half the teams in this league are CPU-owned as it stands, and things certainly aren't getting any better. I certainly don't mind keeping things going til the end of the season, I just wanna know what y'allz thoughts are about this...it's sad when we have like 18 users or so and after 4 days we still have like 4 or 5 unplayed games. Things are going sooooo slow :/

And I don't think there is a need to be babysitting anymore as far as asking for updates on the unplayed games on the day of advance. I don't think I need to be deliberately asking people for updates...people should post on here if they're planning on getting their game in at some point on advance day otherwise I'm just simming them.
 
Bears 52 - Vikings 10

This one was over pretty early and it was not pretty at times. The Bears played just about a perfect game on both offense and defense, it was a sight to behold.

Jay Cutler put up a perfect QB rating, going 12 of 13 for 231 yards and 5 TDs, he really could not have been much better.

Devin Hester was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 138 yards and 3 TDs. Reggie Wayne had the other 2 scores on his only catches of the day.

Forte rushed 10 times for 122 yards and a score, which came on a 95 yard TD on the Bears' first offensive play.

The Bears D forced 7 turnovers. 5 INT by 5 different players, including an improbable pick six by RE Corey Wooten. They also forced two fumbles and recovered both. The only Bears' miscue all day was on a punt which bounced into the leg of the returner and allowed the Vikings to recover and convert with a FG.

I did lose Idonije for 3 games and Tinoisamoa for the season, the Bears' injury list is getting a bit crowded, thank god it's free agent week!

I'm advancing after Shaneduncan (Chiefs) plays his game against the CPU...which should be soon I hope. He said he'd be able to play around 9:15 but he's not online right now...I dunno what time zone he is.
 
I will be subbing for Grand Cru for the foreseeable future. He is in between moving and asked me to sub for him in both leagues.

Not sure who his opponent is for this week, but whoever is playing the Bengals this week, this is a note that you will be hearing from me to schedule his game.
 
Ramesu if you wanna go ahead and play Cru's game this week you still have time...he's against the CPU. Let me know if you need me to boot him or anything.
 
Oops sorry...alright well I'm getting on now to boot him anyway...I still haven't heard from Shaneduncan yet, I guess I'll probably just advance before I go to bed tonight which is probably gonna be pretty late.
 
Apparently Shane played his game sometime recently...I didn't notice til now. Well, I advanced us. New deadline is set for Saturday night...I know that's really soon but I just checked the league schedule and there are only FOUR user vs. user games to be played this weak...pretty sad. So you have all day Friday and Saturday to try and schedule those. I know it's March Madness, so if we have to extend the deadline until Sunday at some point then I wouldn't mind doing that...but I think 2 days to schedule 4 games is pretty manageable.

Just a note for the remainder of the season: anyone with a CPU game can go ahead and play the CPU UNLESS you're against one of these teams:

Giants (as of now I'm still waiting to hear from Lexxon)
Vikings/Redskins (HotItlnStn owns both)
Steelers/Bears (BV owns both)
Jaguars/Buccs (Doomtime owns both)
Eagles/Bengals (Ramesu owns both)

I put both of the teams for the players who are subbing since one of them is always gonna be unowned at some point during the week.

So this really only applies to Kaotic R3D this week - don't play the CPU Bengals...get in touch with RamesuThe1 to schedule your game with him cause he's taking over the Bengals for Cru.

And I'd prefer if people didn't run up the score against the CPU but I'm obviously not gonna take action if people do it. I don't think anyone is gonna take the time to do end-of-the-year awards for this pathetic excuse of a season, so padding your stats against the CPU isn't really gonna affect anyone else. Of course you shouldn't be running up the score against REAL human opponents though...that's a given. I know a lot of people can easily put up 60+ points against the CPU without even trying (I just did recently in the other league), so I'm not gonna get upset or anything if I see huge blowouts...but I mean more along the lines of someone winning by 60 points and they have 48 pass attempts and 3 rushing attempts or something like that. Again it doesn't really matter....I guess people should just be focused on having fun this last season before this league dies...so I guess go for it if you want.

I'm still around, I've just been extremely spacey/unreliable about my madden games since last week. I haven't heard from anyone about my game this week, but I haven't contacted anyone either. I'm once again in Boston for the weekend so you can probably just do a CPU game if it has to get done before sometime Sunday Afternoon. This info goes for the other league too if I'm stuck on a game over there...
 
Oh by the way everyone is free to pick up a free agent at this point...only one though!! But still please post in here who you pick up and who you drop (if anyone).

Umm well I initially said Saturday night since we only have 4 user-vs-user games to schedule this week, but I suppose I will change it to Sunday night after seeing nobody played today :( The CPU games at least should be a breeze...just 45 minutes whenever you want, or even less if you supersim.

Played a really fun game with Deuce, but stupid mistakes cost me a chance to win. Our offensive numbers were pretty even, but I made some terrible decisions in the passing game and failed to capitalize on several golden opportunities, while his defense was on point for pretty much the entire game. I threw 5 interceptions with Rivers including a pick six, and Carson Palmer fumbled three times for Oakland, losing 2 of them. I couldn't do much of anything with my regular receivers, so Ryan Mathews was my #1 target.

Doom and I disconnected twice in the first half, once with him up 14-7 and once with me up 21-7. Neither of us is that interested in playing it again and we were pretty even so we're just gonna sim it.
 
Really guys?? 3 games played? I realize most of you probably don't care...but to anyone who does, I'm advancing tonight at 10 p.m. EST no matter what unless someone tells me they're gonna be playing around that time.

P.S. - I think I'm probably the only one who has actually picked up a free agent...but anyways: 49ers drop C.J. Spillman (FS) and sign Jay Alford (DT)
 
Ya anyone has been able to pick up a FA for the past couple days...no one was really picking anyone up so I just opened it to everyone after a day or so.

By the way I'm not really showing any leniency towards someone with a CPU game, so unless I hear about a USER VS USER game scheduled for 10:00 EST or later tonight, then I'm still simming all them mofos!
