CAG Madden League - CAGFL Superbowl I: Browns vs Broncos!

You could just take the 1st 16 people who signed up hwne this thread opened and take them, then you wouldnt have to randomize to pick teams again because it seems like they all got what team they wanted. But then again that would be kinda unfair to everyone else, maybe someone else will hold another tourney to fit more people?

Idk Im sure other people with have other thoughts

ok 16 teams is perfect. just do it like this. from the list in the op just when your ready have the people that are serious about it pm you. If its more then 16 then give priorioty in the order of the list (in the Op). If it doenst fill up just go pm whoever is next in line. since it looks like a lot a people are interested another league can get started for those that dont get in.
 
If you guys have less than the required amount in the end... I would like to join as the Broncos or Chargers. Thanks.

And yes I would not quit, right now I'm playing in the NCAA League.
 
Should we try getting one player for each team, so 32 players. It is seeming like we could get that many people. Then we could use the official NFL schedule and playoff system.

I know with so many people it is hard to get every one to play on time, but it is jsut an idea.
 
I think with these kind of things more is not always better, I think you stick with 16 to 20 teams, and to make it fair have some kind of draft for teams.
 
I want in if possible. I would want either the jags or the lions, seeing as my other choices have been picked (Fins, Panthers, Bears, Steelers)
 
I don't think we can do 32 teams and the NFL schedule, from experience I know that will become a mess. I'm willing to try and do 24 teams, but even that worries me a bit so maybe 16 will be more doable.

Also, I'll give it some more time, but what I think I'll do is have everyone still interested PM me starting Saturday and those that do will get in and I'll try to give priority to those that mentioned being interested first.

Don't worry about it yet though since I'll give it through tomorrow to see what we should try and do with the amount of teams and such more.
 
look i no i am on the outside looking in right now but it doesnt seem fair to me that just because i wasnt on here in the first couple of hours i cant join. NOt everyone is up at 3 in the morning. you should make it fair for everyone. have signups then do a draw but hey you guys do it how you want
 
If anything I would definitely be sure to let the people that played there games in the NCAA league join. Also, if the # of people becomes that much of an issue we could always do 2 leagues and have the champions of each league face each other in the end. And yes I still definitely want to play and I will be picking up madden day 1 at midnight.
 
Why don't you guy's just allow people to take any team they want and just have multiples of some teams? It works for the madden challenge. :)
 
I also like the idea of NCAA players that are known to be reliable given a little bit of priority. Could someone in that league maybe drop me a PM about who is known to be pretty reliable there.

Is anyone interested in starting another league? If I know that upfront we can even consider splitting it up into people that are known to play together a bit more and maybe coordinate some end of league match.

Also, would anyone be interested in working out some kinda prize? I'm sure I can try to offer up something.

This may change, but I think what I'm going to do is have everyone interest PM me through the weekend. I'll then post those that made it in. From there we'll start organizing the team draft for early next week.

If anyone is interested in a seperate league PM me, I'd like to coordinate some things.
 
Does anyone know of any schedule generator programs or anything that might help me out with scheduling? I know I can do it manually, but I figured a program would be nice should we run into replacement issues or anything.
 
i can do the schedule if you want. Im going to have a lot of free time in the next few days. just need to know how many teams are going to be in.
 
we could do something really elaborate where if we have enough people could form 2 leagues and have the winner of each play each other. I'd be down for a team, doesnt matter which since i know i'll probably suck with any of them.
 
I just wanted to post here but if there is another set of signups this weekend please include me, I might not have a chance to check back till Tuesday night.
 
There's like a .05% chance that I will be able to play full-time in this league, but I'll go ahead and secure my team just incase the odds go in my favor: the San Francisco 49ers (since I know it'll be a heated battle for them :lol:). So put me down on the OP, Matt, and I'll keep you updated via PMs or XBL.
 
Okay since its officially Saturday, everyone that's still interested in the league go ahead and PM me. I'll aim for 24 teams and if we have to go lower we will. I'll post the owners that make it on Sunday.
 
Damn...late to the party, just got back to this hemisphere. I want in. Since the hometown Colts are claimed, I'll just pick whatever teams are left if I can still join.
 
I'll play if you have slots open. Since my hometown Cowboys are gone....I'll take the archrival Redskins. Funny since I have NEVER played as them before.
 
Okay it looks like we're filled up now based on the PMs I've received and the ones I've sent out to reliable players and some of the original posters on this thread. I'll still take PMs for alternates, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Wait so, is that original list that was on the OP still valid, or do I have to PM you?
 
No the original list was just about interest. To make sure it went beyond maybes and to see who would actually take the effort to PM me that was what I based players on. I also sent out some messages to reliable players and some people I knew would be in it before anything is planned. It looks like we're full, but I'll work you in.
 
Also, to everyone that doesn't make the original list I'm going to make sure we're on the ball with all this so if someone doesn't pick their team with decent speed or play their first game you'll be able to get in. I'm sure that is bound to happen to at least a few teams.
 
Nope I'll post that list soon though, but don't worry if you've sent one already you're in. I only sent out messages to a few people that showed interest early on and some NCAA players.

I just got to wait on a few more replies and then think about whether I need to bump it up to 32 or since I promised some people they'd get in I might not even be able to play in the league myself.
 
The first post is updated with the order we'll draw teams in so everyone can start submitting the teams they want now.

As I mentioned there, realize that this is a work in progress so if you're a team that picks late it may take awhile for me to post or I may post your team early and change it should an earlier number take that team. I know its a bit confusing, but I think its better than just trying to take a few at a time since it will save us time and also let people get a better idea of what replacement teams they may need to go after should their picks be unavailable.
 
Since I'm pretty set on the 6 divisions of 4, how does everyone think I should structure it? Random, based on real NFL divisions, or structured around the team drawing order? I have some ideas, but I just wanted to get everyone's opinion.
 
Send it now if you want, especially since you're early in the picks. But I'll probably give it through Monday at least and then start debating whether I should cut out players I haven't heard from and let some alternates have a chance.
