Im in... Ifwe were to start calling teams now hit me up with the Bengals... They not "my team" but in madden they gonna be... Just too many weapons not to play with them.
 
I'd be up, but I won't pick a team now, as this is probably not gonna be official. If it is I would like either the Titans or the Cardinals

Wait, we're supposed to pick teams according to strategy and not just cause they have a cool uniform and logo?
 
For a video game the cards o-fence will kick ass. Kurt warner at QB or Leinart. Edge at RB and 2 awsome WR's. Defense is iffy.

edit: hopefully if we do get a league I think it would be a good idea to play the game a couple of days then hold a drawing to pick teams. And make the divisions random instead of just afc/nfc.

another idea. instead of playing everyone in your division twice, play against averyone in your conference once. that will give you 7 games and then play 3 outside of your conference so thats a 10 week season with no bye then the playoffs. then just the top 4 teams of the conference (2 division champs and 2 wildcards) make it to the playoffs (no first round bye). The shorter the season, the more likely peolple would stick around and finish.

I'm definitely interested...but I'm not going to be the 49ers or some such crap team. My Pats have been claimed, but maybe I'll take the Panthers (even though I hate Jake Delhomme) or Giants or something.

My sister and I are ready to roll with Madden.

I'm not the biggest Cowboy fan so if you are really interested in them I don't mind giving them up. If you decide to take them, let me know and I'll take the Chiefs instead.

Hey to make this a little more interesting and a little more fair to people that weren't on last night would anyone be interested in a drawing for teams? Where whoever gets #1 would get first pick and so on? It wouldn't really change much, but would help with teams that multiple people want. May also keep people active in the thread to show who we could narrow down the final roster too.
 
The point of a drawing, guys, is everyone gets a random, equal chance to get the team you want. So calling teams again is pointless.
 
Okay good to see there is some interest in drawing, we may go that route.

Also, if this first league goes well I might even do a smaller league with random teams later. I think that would be interesting and add to the challenge.
 
we should have the drawing the see who picks first then a couple of days after the game is out pick the teams.

edit: and so the people with the lower picks arn't wasting time by trying out the top teams.
 
Hey now that we have about 24 people interested, if we stick with that would everyone go for a division structure like this?

-2 Conferences like AFC/NFC
-6 Divisions, 3 Each Conference
-10 or 12 Game Schedule with you playing your Division rivals twice and 4 or 6 random games. Within that we could make it so of those 4 some could be either completely random or so many your Conference, so many not.
-3 Division Champs and 1 Wildcard would make it to the playoffs in each Conference for a 8 team Playoff.

I'm not sure if this is what we'll go with, but its an idea. I know it was mentioned just to play everyone in your Conference before, but now we have a bigger amount of teams.

why not have it like the NFL kind of... 2 Conferences, 3 dvisions in each conference... 3 division winners, 3 wild cards...top 2 seeds get byes...

A team drawing would be fine with me -- especially if the Giants were already taken, lol!
 
also you could play your division two times, 1 division in the other conference once, and a division in your conference, finally 1 team from the other division in your conference.

division - 4 games
other conference - 3 games
another division - 3 games
(maybe)one team from the last conference - 1 game =
10 - 11 games

The NFL has 4 Divisions and 2 Wild Cards in each Conference. I just thought I'd cut it down a little bit since we don't have quite as many teams and less Divisions.

Yeah I'm starting to think we'll draw. Though I'll see how people respond more. What I think we'll do is maybe draw sometime next week (or earlier). I'll post the order that everyone drew and think that I'll have like 6 people at a time PM me with their top 3 picks. That way I'm not getting PMs for the same team and the bottom of the draw won't just be guessing. I know if I just have everyone post in the thread it'll take too long, though maybe we could bump someone if they take too long.
 
I'm interested if you need bodies, but are we talking a full 17 week season or possibly shorter? My Xbox Live Gold expires at the end of November, and I'm doubtful I'll renew, least not right away.

I'd hate to sign up only to play for 8 weeks, rather someone else have the spot who's going to play out the season as I'm sure you all would too.
 
I don't think we'll do 17 games more like 12, but even that will probably last until November or at least close. I'll put you on the list though and we'll see what happens as far as how many teams we have in the league.
 
well let set the number of teams so that we could then look at possible scheduals. I think 24 might be a little too many but thats up to you.
 
I would like to be in it. Sounds fun I'll take the Chiefs. I 'm alright at madden and would being doing it more for fun. I'm not serious about football.
 
Okay we definitely have more demand than teams that we need. Should I take the names that are mentioned now or have everyone that wants to play PM me? Honestly, even though we have 20 + now I know the number will dwindle.

Personally, I'd rather give it a few days for everyone to think about it and then have everyone still interested to PM me, the first 16 would get in. Anyone beyond that could be an alternate.
