CAG MLB 10: The Show League Fantasy Teams! MIL/PHI/SD open! Series 6 Games Due 9/6!

Damn... that sucks. I have not had any disconnections yet, and I never even had any lag till I played JetMan tonight. But even that wasn't too horrible.

The game itself was really good. A couple errors cost me 2 runs, but JetMan was hitting very well on top of that. I blew an opportunity with the bases loaded and then barely missed a homer with 2 men on.

It was 3-1 going into the 9th, and I had my 4,5, and 6 hitters coming up in the bottom of the inning, but JetMan scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th and put me down in the bottom of the inning to win it. Good game, JetMan.

Phillies 5, Dodgers 1
 
I couldnt have dreamed up a worse team than my autopick team. Im from Mass and of course my best hitters are Arod and Beltran. My best pitcher is Kuroda? I drafted 3 closers? Hysterical.

This is such a shame because I was really looking forward to drafting a team that fits my play style. Instead, I was autodrafted a team that I have no desire to play with.

Anyone want to switch teams with me?

That's fine. Say the word, and I'll drop you from the league. Most people would kill to have A-Rod and Beltran, but if you have hang ups, you have hang ups. You know you can trade players right?
 
Ughhh...I'm really fucking over online leagues right now. So, Jetman07 and I tried to play the other night. We had 3 attempts where I pitched a scoreless 1st, and then when I came to bat, I'd get maybe one guy up, and then the game would drop. Of course, since it was in the 1st inning, the games didn't count. Since we've both played and completed games since then (I played 2 other league games that very same night), we thought maybe things would be fine now.

Unfortunately for me, because of the other games I played, my #5 (Barry Zito) was now set up to face his ace (CC Sabathia). Amazingly, we make it through the 1st inning, tied 0-0. Then, in the top half of the 2nd, the fucking game freezes and drops AGAIN! I knew it was going to count this time, but I'll be damned if I could figure out whose "fault" it was. Neither of us dropped from PSN...or even the SportsConnect server.

So, I go to check the game, and yup, I got the loss. I just don't know how much more of this bullshit I can take. I want to take my game disc and use it to slit the developers fucking throat. And while they're laying there dying, I'll force them to try to set up a god damn fantasy league draft and try to figure out what day it's on.

I mean, I didn't have the highest hopes with Zito going against Sabathia anyway, but why even bother playing the fucking game? At this point, I'd rather do a fucking pen and paper league, where we just play each other in quick games online, and then keep track of our own results. That way if a game dropped...especially in the 2nd fucking inning, you could just restart it, and report the results when you actually get through the game.

If you can't tell, I'm venting a bit here. But I'm just so sick of all the fucking bullshit with this game. As Supreme pointed out, the FOCUS was supposed to be online play this year, and THIS is the best they can do??? Did it seriously take them an entire development cycle just to figure out how to make the game less laggy? Because every other aspect of online is still a horrible fucking mess. I know Josh is having basically the same problems with his league, and if this shit keeps up, it's not even going to matter who wins because all the fucking games are going to be just arbitrarily ruled upon. What is the fucking point???

Yeah, if you want to trade for starting pitchers, I have a few decent starters I'm not using because I stopped drafting in the 25th round and the computer just gave me starters the rest of the way.
 
The player who disconnects always gets the loss. I've had a game where I was leading get disconnected and I got the loss because my connection got disconnected. The disconnects are just so random though that it's so frustrating.

That's how it's supposed to work, I know. But I'm telling you, it's not a normal disconnect. There was absolutely no lag, no traffic delays, and neither of our connections dropped. Unless Jetman07's and my connection just "don't get along", there's something more to it. As I said, after trying to play him the other night, I played 2 games immediately after without problem. There's more to it than my "internet sucks".

I'd definitely entertain some trade offers. I like my team, but I am currently 0-3, so I don't have much to lose by switching a couple of players with you. Of course, if the online issues above continue, it won't really matter...

To me, there are two possibilities. Either people's connections just aren't jiving, or it's a server bug. Considering the overall instability of the online portion of this game, I'd be inclined to go with the latter. But I also wonder why I've only gotten the issue with Jetman07, and why hqn101 is having the same problem. It's like the game is just dying for no reason.
 
Well, my game with JetMan was the only one in which I experienced any consistent lag, rather than the occasional hiccup. But it was nowhere near unplayable, and we maintained our connection throughout.

Oh, and I just wanted to point out that my MLB 10 avatar I uploaded to the site was not approved due to being "inappropriate". It was the same avatar I have on CAG. Wow.

I should change mine to a sceenshot of one of the many bugs in the game, and then insist that they reject it because it is completely inappropriate.

For people information I figured out why my games were disconnecting, its because my PS3 is broken, the laser no longer reads any media so I will have to ship it into sony to fix.

Holy shit is my team complete garbage... going to be very challenging for me to compete to say the least.

When Rivera is your best player, there are problems.

In any case, I'll be ready to play some games maybe Weds night and this weekend I'll have a ton of time.
 
really dont matter bout the players tho my team drafted is ranked 15th out of 16 and im still manging to get some wins. just cuz your team isnt stacked with all stars doesnt mean you have to give up.
 
^ nah not giving up... but honestly, my 1-5 rotation isn't very solid at all, at least I have Rivera.

As far as my lineup goes. it's bad. even my "big hitters" are over the hill dudes like Maglio Ordonez, and fat-asses like Migs Cabrera. The defense of my lineup is even worse.

I just thought I'd have one or two studs somewhere.

I don't know if I play you, Keith. I know I have not played the Yankees, but I am not sure if we're scheduled to play yet. I just wish the league web site for this game was as in depth as 2K Sports' stuff. I can't check my schedule online, sadly.

Sorry guys, I haven't even played The Show for a few days now. I guess for whatever reason, I'm still hoping to hear news of a 3rd patch that fixes both league and Sounds of the Show issues. Sadly, it doesn't look like one is coming. I'll try to get on later today to see where we stand, and who needs to play what.

Also, again, to the guys who aren't happy with their teams (Dahk, DestroVega, etc.) remember you can trade players. If there are players you want to unload, let people in here know. There's still a chance you can shape your team the way you want it.
 
N8 can we please advance series 1games by monday. 2 weeks was ample time to get it played. or did you give up on this league?

That isn't quite the pace leagues are played here... I was on vacation until Sunday and I have one game played so far... 2 people don't have any games played.

Not that I think people should have zero games played, but 4 games a week is a bit much.

Whoa...why am I simming series 1 games? I realize you've played everyone but Dahk, but advancing past series 1 is only going to give you one more game. Blame Sony's system, not me. If it was a straight week by week system, I could reasonably pressure people to get their one game played every week so we could move on as a group. If it was a straight flex schedule, I wouldn't have to worry about anything because people could play any game at any time. But instead, Sony gave us some bastardized, half-assed, middle of the road system that isn't fair to anyone.

The reason I could honestly give a shit about "series 1" games is because of "flex scheduling". People had no incentive to target that specific game, when they had 8 others to choose from. Essentially, there could be somebody who has played series 2-9, but hasn't been able to link up with their series 1 opponent. But you think I should just sim that game?

And will you stop making stupid accusations that I've given up on the league...especially when I just fucking posted in the thread yesterday. The whole point of that post was to try to get people back on track and get things moving again. Nice of you to give me 24 hours before you start making "the sky is falling" posts again. To sum up: if you're not happy in the league, get out.

no I mean that first game on the sched for everyone. the pace of the league last year was like play about 10 games and give up IIRC

I understand your concern. But seriously, man, just have a little faith and give me a chance. No, the way the league is set up isn't perfect, but it's not as bad as last year, and it definitely can't get any worse. My hope is that they patch some of the issues which would make things better. But if not, we'll just have to make do with what we've got. Honestly, last year's league didn't even get this far. I think we played maybe 5-6 games before things completely died out.

I'm sure there will be some people I have to kick from the league, and I'm definitely not opposed to setting up some game requirements like Josh is doing with his league. It's just a matter of doing it the right way. Like I said, I really don't want to sim series 1 games just because people may have not been able to link up with that specific opponent. As long as people are playing 1-2 games per week, the league will move. But I will make it a priority to get on people who haven't played any games. Two weeks is definitely enough time to show some kind of effort.

I'll try to get on tomorrow night around 10 or 11 EST. I remember that I have to play the Padres among a couple other teams, so I need to check. I just haven't been on lately. Got the GRE coming up and applying for jobs.

I haven't had anyone respond when I've asked to play. It's probably been 10 days, maybe a little more, since I've played a league game.
 
I played DestroVega a couple days ago for the other league. And with 3 people getting kicked out of that league, I think I only have 1-2 teams available to play until the schedule opens up more. All 3 were in my first 9 games. There's that great "flex scheduling" for ya.

But this league, there seems to be a few slack asses who aren't making any effort at all. I'll be on my PS3 in another hour or so. I'll take inventory, see who needs to pick it up, and set some deadlines. It's really ridiculous that I see some people online all the time playing other games who haven't played a single game in this league. Why did you sign up?
