Well, I felt bad, because I was up by a few scores and just wanted to run the ball to at least get the clock rolling (although I never really took more than 15 seconds off) but you would stack the line with 8 men in the box, and there would be no way for me to run, so I would audible to pass and just float one to a WR to get a first, and because your defense wasn't ready for it, the plays kept turning into TDs.

And that safety...that was just bad luck...I had prevent defense called, so you shouldn't have had any pressure on you, but I think since you rolled out and ran around a bit, your offensive line couldn't maintain and some of my guys got through. Still, it was a good game, and well fought regardless.

Woah...that was some game. I think that was my fault. He saved up his frustrations from our last game and took it out on you. Good game guys.

Well that's textbook football and exactly how your supposed to play those situations.
 
Ok, extentions have been given until tommorrow. But at midnight, no matter who you are or what the circumstances, we move ahead. I dont like wasting weekend days on old games.

Also, for those who havent played please play the EARLIEST you can. That way, I can advance the schdule and let our late night gamers have a chance to finish next weeks game tommorrow night

:rofl: Yeah, funny you say "classy". Right at about the middle of the second quarter I was rushing to get the game in so I could get to class in time. Needless to say, I was late. There was no sense trying to score, the game was out of hand. The last play, I was going to see if I could have Manning do some superman dive over the line actually. Haha. Thanks for getting the game in though.
 
I was really hoping for the shutout, but oh well. :wink: Has anyone else run into that bug where the QB doesn't hand the ball off for a second or two if he does at all? I haven't seen it happen to the computer or other players on line so I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

Yeah, I've had that happen on several occasions. I don't know what triggers it though. It'd be alright if I had Vick, but poor Peyton gets left out in the cold.
 
Ok, I was a little later advancing the schedule than I had said Id be. I felt pretty run down today, decided to take a nap, and ended up sleeping about 5 hours longer than expected. Sorry if it messed anybodys plans up.

That said, we're on to next week! Same ol same ol, get your games in ASAP, hopefully this weekend. Our new cut off is going to be Friday nights. That way each weekend is available for new games to be played.
 
Thanks to the Seattle owner for getting the game in so quick. I have exams all week and studying all last weekend, so I really appreciate it.
 
Arkay- I'm having problems with AIM so I figured I'd leave you a message here. What day/time would you prefer that we have our game on?
 
No problem, Indy owner. I like to play the games early on so we are sure to get them in. BTW, good game -- it was close in the first half before I got lucky and broke it open.

Let's go, folks, let's get those games in so we can flip the schedule on Friday!

Sorry Ive been gone from the thread for a while. My 2 job schedule is now stopped. I quit hollywood (well sort of, Im down to maybe 4 hours a week) so my evenings are free again. I shouldnt push any more games late.

Sorry about that game craven, I wish the communicator wouldve been working. I wasnt quite sure how to not run up the score without running out the clock. Whodve thought Robert Smith would keep busting out for long td runs.

I just saw that you were online after finishing a game of Halo 2, but it's midnight and I should've been in bed an hour ago. I have to be up early for an appointment.

Tomorrow night at 8 is perfect, though. I can sign on to Live right after the Ashlee Simpson Show....

I mean the lumberjack competition on ESPN2. Manly shit. *Scratches hairy chest and belches*

I don't know. It's on tonight, so it hasn't aired yet. I'm not sure if she discusses the Orange Bowl or not.

I missed last week's episdoe and thus also missed the preview for this week's show.
 
Gomer V1 (St. Louis) and I were having problems last night w/ ESPN's service, but we were finally able to play. He took me to school extending my losing streak to 3.

I had something new happen last night during our game. During gameplay, I experienced 2-3 second pauses in the game. Is that lag? I don't know if Gomer was having the same problems...I think he had his communicator off or something because he was incommunicado the whole game. I on the other hand was openly cursing my offense and defense accordingly.

Sorry I realized after the game that the volume was turned all the way down after the game. It was good and close for a while though and I was quite afraid Moss would keep burning me on those slants. Wasn't meaning to score that high but I couldn't much help those last three TD's that were fairly flukey.

I wish this game would've been decided by coin flip like my first one.

Arkay murdered me. After he took a big lead, he did everything he could not to score and to allow me to at least get within field goal range, but Favre threw 4 picks I believe, and my receivers played like a JV junior high squad, dropping nearly every pass that was tossed in thei general direction.

38-0. I got slaughtered. But Arkay is an extremely cool guy and made sure I didn't feel badly about losing. He's a class act all the way.

I can't go 0-8, but I can still shoot for 2-6, by jove.
 
The game was being a dick to you. A lot of drops, a lot of unlucky tips, and I just got a few breaks early and it forced you to pass more. Next time we play it will be close.

Hey no worries. That last one was my fault, I have a tendency of pulling defenders away from runners. The turnovers got a little amusing towards the end, but thats what happens when you play from behind. The punt return at the beginning of the game was the killer.
 
The plan is to flip to the next week on Fri night. My opponent is completely slammed with work and exams but hes tried all week to work the game in so I thought we could give him (and the rest of you) an extra day.

Ok. Needless to say I (and a few of the other league members) are NOT happy about this. Not at all.


Rule Reminder

2. Missing games - It is your number one resposibility to the league to play your games. When you don't, you hold us all up and we won't allow that. If there is a good reason why you cannot you MUST contact me AND your opponent with the reason why. Two weeks of holding up the entire group without good reason can lead to termination.



There was over a week to play these games by my estimation, and it didnt get done. Even more disturbing is the lack of PMs in my box explaining to me why these games wouldnt get played. It got to the point where I started playing babysitter and chasing people down on AIM,ICQ,YAHOO, etc just to get them to do what they should be able to accomplish on their own.

Now Ive been pretty cool up until this point, Ive given everybody the benefit of the doubt in most cases AND all that Ive asked is that you LET ME KNOW 48hours BEFOREHAND if you are having a problem. You can ask those who have done this in the past and they ll tell you how incredibly reasonable I was.

So, from now on no more letting things slide. I will be enforcing to the letter ,the zero tolerence policy. Your game doesnt get done and Im not given reasonable explaination 48 hours beforehand, Strike #1. If it happens again, party is over for you. Im sorry if I come off like a dick but look at all the 0-0 games in our schedule and youll better understand why things had to change.

For those of you who did play their games, I thank you and I am truly sorry for any trouble the other games not getting done has caused. For those of you who didnt play and didnt let me know why, I think you owe your leaguemates an apology.

Trade deadline approaching

Ok, we are at week 4. That means this is the last week for trades. Since we've had zero so far Im not sure how much action we'll see this week, if any. Im hoping the deadline will bring some action to shakeup the league. Of course, dont trade just to trade, but Im sure people could better their teams.

Also, if a trade is struck, LMK ASAP and Ill review it and authorize. That way the swap will take place ASAP, hopefully so the players can suit up for this weeks games.

Edit: Vick is still on the block, but I may just end up keeping him. Offers are still welcome though. I have decide to put some of my corners up on the block, anyone other than Hall is available. I am looking to get guys that will fill my weaknesses. I am not sure what thouse are right now, but when I look it over, I will post up. I need an decent #2 or 3 WR for sure, but other than that offer me reasonable trades.
 
Anyone willing to let go of a decent player in the secondary? Take a look at the Colts offense and take your pick within reason of course. I'll even rid of Vanderjagt if I can pick up a kicker in FA list. Is there such a thing? My defense sucks.
 
I don't think there is any free agency online which is kind of a shame. I'm still looking for 70's-ish WR and will offer any of the following.

Madieu Williams 79 or Anthony Mitchell 72 Free Safety
Kenny Watson 72* HB
Brad St.Louis 36 or Tony Stewart 63 TE
Carson Palmer 82* QB
72-74 C

Really need a WR since I only have 4 and if someone goes down Im gone be in pretty bad shape, not to mention I have random players who can't catch playing at times. The starred ones are the only two I'll need a player of the same position back, second string quality on the QB and third on the HB, but otherwise it doesn't really matter. So if your interested in anything I've listed, or any player even if they're not on the list, propose something and we can try and work out a deal.

Now it's too bad they probably can't keep releasing roster updates just to spite EA so those of us wanting updated games won't have to buy EA's product.

I enjoyed the gameplay, but I sold it for Madden mostly because I hated the online environment. This was before all that stuff with the NFL rights took place. Now that it won't be until 2007 until EA fully incorporates the ESPN stuff, we will likely get stuck with a crap Madden game. Now that I don't play games exclusively for online play, I think I can honestly enjoy this more now.

Supa told me to let you guys know that he's gonna be outta the loop for a little while. His bband cxn's died out on him and hes currently forced to go on 56k. He'll be back asap though and will try to keep up w/ everything as best as possible.

Ok, the longest day just got longer as my inet died for some unknown reason and comcast yet again has no clue why.

But, all is not lost folks. While I am out of the game playing loop, Im trying damn hard to find a way to get somebody else to approve trades and such for me. Thats right, I wont let my troubles slow progress if I can help it. Do your trade offers, dont freak out if they arent approved immediately, they will be. (so long as you dont go over your limit) As soon as Im up and running solidly, Ill let you guys know. Feel free to PM me and such, just I cant get on as much during the day now since I tie up the business phone.

Oh, and Ten. if there is any possible way we can play, we WILL play. I may even hike it over to a friends house.
