CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!
The game has weird server outages at weird times. They just hit me randomly too. I have no idea if it's scheduled maintainence, but it is there for KOF XIII and there are times where I couldn't get a game for up to five hours due to it losing connection all of a sudden.

And the reason Capcom doesn't have that problem is because Capcom has more then five dollars and a buritto for their budget.
I'm shocked you actually admitted it. It's pretty lame on SNK's part. I would play KOFXIII way more if it would quit doing that. I try KOFXIII a couple of matches and run off to UMVC3 when KOFXIII won't let me play it.

I hope that patch coming for KOFXIII at least fixes this and I'll be happy.

I reply to everyone with this.

Oh god, I barely play fighting games anymore!

Oh wait I do, but just during my lunch break at work. They have now banned AE, T6 and UMvC3 because of me. We got KoF13 which is pretty awesome. Pink and white Ash all the way!

Sorry paco, I don't eh-speak Messican.

So this Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition... From the sound of it I assume its just the extras and people that have it can play people with the regular MK. I sure hope I'm right and don't end up buying another version of MK.

Then you speak Ching Chang Chong? Like Rosie O Donnel said bout dem Street Fightas? Or do you speak HOMIE ESSAY QUE PASA like dat dur MAHVUL?

But seriously Good games yesterday Maigoyume. That Hugo tried to give me dat hammer mountain but I parried it with a basketball.

Kinda pissed off though. If that basketball didn't hit you, you would have ran straight into that Shoryu Cannon.

I just ordered a new controller, so that'll help with my inputs, less botched inputs cause that blasted dual shock always gets in my way. Man those first 4-5 matches you just messed me up, was getting AGGRO. Hadn't played for a few months till you msged me.

Then the real matches began. Haha, you foiled your own plans, and then CLAP CLAP. Also all those times I ended up jabbing were a failed hammer mountain

Edit: GG's again Paco, though I keep getting bodied for the first set of matches. But judgement rules muahaha

Same with me. My Fightpad went tits up AGAIN, so I had to make due with the sega saturn usb pad. It's hard to counter your throws because of the angle of lp and lk so what should be an easy counter is gone due to me not properly hitting the buttons. It sucks.

Your CLAP HANDZ were annoying the hell out of me. I should have easily parried that shit and gave you the BOOYAH KANNON.
Ugh too many times I didn't tech your throws because of the dual shock. Just a couple more weeks and my hori commander pro 3 should be here. Oh? I thought you were a stick player, didn't know there were any other pad warriors around.
I never learned to use a stick although I should. I always use the ps3 controller for fighters.

I've tried time and time again to use stick, but its just not working out for me. So I've decided to become a pad warrior for life. Besides, its what's most comfortable for you.

You just have to stick with it. Eventually it started feeling "right" for me.

Depending on how much you practiced with it... NOT LONG ENOUGH!
gg's paco in kofxiii. If you wanna call good games me getting my ass handed to me, but its what I expected.
That's what you get for using K'Dash and KEEYOH. My fighting is so Mexican that my button presses larf at you.

K' is just Mexican for YOU BEST PAY KASH because K' gets tossed to the gutter. Like Trash. Gutter Trash.

And Maigoyume, yeah I use a pad. I use a stick for SSF2THD and MK, but other games I use a fighting controller.
Depending on how much you practiced with it... NOT LONG ENOUGH!
Let's 3s and I'll show you my skill level without a stick ;)

Nah best not. His favorite game is Nerdsblue. The one with the anime characters and lolis and nurse panties. Best not ask him to play such a glorious game as Street Fighta.

I don't think Hugo is a good demonstration of executional prowess on a pad unless you can do standing 720s.

He churns butter with Analog sticks. But he doesn't use dat super. He goes for Hammer mountain and clapping hands. Sounds like he's cheering my victory every time I give him the BOOYAH KANNON
He churns butter with Analog sticks.
Noted.
I only use hugo for claps and giggles. Yang is my main till the end of time.

Oh there be cheering when the clap rocks the mountain.
Then you better be playing Yang when I fight you.
Let's figure out when we'll actually play first shall we?
Unless you play Yang, I'll make sure it's a waste of our time. :booty:

GGs maigo, I had already been playing with the other dude for a while. Once I saw makoto's super drop you like that, I was like "Alright, time to call it quits."

Changing input method is hard. Of course you're going to suck during the transition, but you should at least be seeing some progress 3 months in. If not, you're simply not putting enough time into it, and/or most likely not practicing correctly.

Biggest mistake is thinking you're going to own right off the bat. People often go straight to the harder stuff skipping fundamentals. The result is messy inputs, poor technique, and less than optimal comfort with the joystick. Changing your control scheme can be a humbling experience, but that's up to you.

In similar news, I'm still practicing with the Hitbox and it's getting pretty fun. My left hand is able to apply button technique in a similar fashion to my right hand. Right now though, I'm not 100% comfortable (maybe like 70%), but I'm determined to get there. I also gotta clean up my inputs and keep at the intricacies of playing with buttons as opposed to stick.

for KOF13 (or any fighter) do you guys practice against the CPU (arcade mode) or just practice combos in the practice mode. I'm having a tough time honing my skills

Well this is depressing. I rented umvc3 on 360 since a friend wanted to play it and he's been nagging me for a long time to rent it so I finally gave in and rented it. I've played several random people on xbl and its smooth every game. At this time my internet isn't even that great. I tested it on psn and it plays like ass. Went back to xbl and its as perfect as its going to get.

I guess that whole xbox live being better wasn't fanboyism bullshit after all.

Both, but depending on the game, I usually set the CPU to easy. CPU in fighting games tends to have that instant reaction. With easy, you can practice on a moving target.

Also be sure to practice against random block to practice hit confirms.

Also, Live>PSN is truf.

I tested it again tonight when my internet wasn't acting up. My internet was connected the same way for each. I should have recorded it. I'm still in shock its that much of a difference and this is coming from a Sony Fanboy.
I noticed it before umvc3. A friend wanted me to play him in kofxiii on 360. We tried the demo on ps3/360. The one on 360 played better. It was quite a bit smoother. It does annoy me, but it isn't like I'm going to sale the ps3 one and get the 360 version or anything.

I've always thought psn is worse since it got hacked or at least it seems that way to me because some of the games I played before psn went down it was better and then afterwards it just wasn't the same. Maybe it just seems that way and it isn't the case.
No, PSN is worse cause PS3 has no gaemz.

When I was playing UMVC3 online with the same/same setting, I ran into lag in maybe 1 in 10 matches. No issues here. Hell, in Arcana Heart 3, I played a lot of Japanese players and had very little lag in most cases.

My experience with XBL is limited, but I had gold last month for Dead Island, and it did amaze me to no end that I was playing with people in the UK (the accent gave it away) with 0 lag whether as host or as guest. I can imagine it's better as a whole, but I have yet to have major issues with PSN.

Still, I haven't done much UMVC3 lately because online is mostly spammers (85%) and scrubs (10%) (with skilled players being the last 5%) and it ticks me off that I'm not good enough to win against spammers (or scrubs with any regularity).

Well, it could be wireless on PS3s. I would assume, a lot more people are on that wireless on the PS3 as opposed to Xbox, where only recently they had wireless with the console. Also the wireless hardware on the PS3 is pure ass.

Wireless on PS3 is for netflix people, not for online gaming. Wire it and DMZ the ps3, ive been playing online on both consoles online since near launch on both, they're the same shit, but people have screwed up ps3 setups and want to blame PSN for their shoddy setups all the time.

Its possible.

I wasn't blaming psn for anything I was just saying what I saw. Kind of hard to screw up router settings when you tested it without one and used a modem only. It isn't the settings, bro.

Wait, are you making this comparison while you're on wireless? The wireless hardware inside the PS3 is shit.

No I always use wire. You of all people should know this.

Oh, well I've played MvC3 on both and they were both shit for me, does that count? Also, when it comes to AE, PC >>> 360 > PS3.

I wasn't using my router either. Both was hooked up directly to the modem and honestly the matches I got on 360 was better and this is coming from a Sony Fanboy.:whistle2:#

Maybe it was just randomness and I happened to run into the right people on xbl to make me think its better or I could have played someone using wi-fi on ps3. Either way that's the way it was and I noticed it right off.

I'm pretty sure blitz6speed thinks I was showing 360 fanboyism, but to be honest my 2 PS3's and 1 Xbox 360 say otherwise.

Just got my pad in and was testing it out, dropped a few seiei enbu combos but otherwise it feels alright. Wish the dpad was a bit stiffer though.

When a system comes with only ethernet, then most players end up wiring their systems to play online. Theres a lot of idiots who play online on wireless on PS3, there is nothing you can do about that. But there are people like myself who have wired connections setup properly and everything is exactly the same. You cant tell me otherwise, as ive personally compared it with the same games with the same people on different consoles both wired up properly, its 100% identical. If you think otherwise, then enjoy the ignorance.
