CAG/PS3 Red Faction: Guerrilla Night [Thursdays @ 10pm EST]
I know... If I could risk being further than 20 feet away from a bathroom today I'd head to TRU... And I have a $30 gift card for TRU too... Balls.
Stop eating raw clams.

Is Gamestop still having that extra credit dealie going on? You could just sell ME2 back to them for $50 and basically walk away with a really cheap BFBC2.

Unless you're going to play ME2, in which case I highly recommend playing ME1 first.

Edited edit: Actually now that I think about it, you could just buy up a bunch of Bad Company 2 copies + Mass Effect 2 and trade in all your Mass Effect 2 copies and then sell the brand new copies of BC2 for like $45 and walk away with a nice tidy profit...... hmmmmmmmmmmm. Or does GS only give you store credit and not cash??? (probably not worth the time and effort if you have a job though)

Well I am Canadian, which is apparently a socialist holocaust society infested with beavers and igloos so I'd have no problem supporting Gamestop if it meant lining my pockets with some PURE CAPITALIST MONEY.

Wait, so am I supposed to pick up Infamous, Bad Company 2, White Knight Chronicles, Episodes from Liberty City, or Just Cause 2?

Actually, I already know the answer, which is:
Picross DS
*based on a true story

p.s. Go back to Canada you commie fascist.
supporting gamestop is supporting communism
But... Gamestop is the pinnacle example of capitalist pig.

Have any of you guys ever heard of/played Urban Dead? It's a free text-based zombie survival MMORPG.

One of my managers told me about it today and my curiosity is definitely piqued.

I've heard of it... but I try not to be one of those people who play browser based games... I have too many real games to take up my time.

theres a thread for in in the lifestyle section alot of people were playing it a year or so ago here but i think they all kind of gave u on it since theres only so much you can do after you level up everything.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 officially announced for this fall! I spent a ton of time playing this last winter and it ended up ruining Burnout Paradise for me. I know there are some BP fans in here so it's worth keeping on your radar.

I'm glad there's a PS3 version this time because it means no more 360 trigger digging into my finger after those hour-long marathon races. :)

I remember getting a TDU beta disc for PS2, didn't do much with it.

I really really need a racing game soon. Polyphony really needs to fucking that shit done.

Burnout Paradise was great (stupid fucking USB camera trophy :bomb:) but it was no Burnout 3...

It was no Burnout REVENGE.
Thankfully.
THIS. I cannot stress enough how much traffic checking destroyed Burnout. I remember renting revenge and just being completely depressed on how much easier it was, the twitch racing was murdered.

even tho i like burnout, cant help but agree here. your car's controls being locked out for like 5 seconds so you slam into whatever is in front of you is very damn annoying.

The 30+ second load times
and Excite Truck
destroyed Burnout for me. And sorry Mr. B, I like traffic checking because it's so fun to watch other cars go flying out of the way. :) You might like TDU because the racing is much less forgiving than Burnout, although not as technical as GT. Also if you hit another car during a race, you're usually fucked.

Speaking of Excitebots... we need to play that shit again. Damn publishers releasing new games that people want to play instead of the older stuff.

maybe vs computer players its fun, but when the game takes my control away, thats freakin lame.

I'm really looking forward to Split/Second, as long as we're chatting about racing games. Everything video I see of that game looks incredibly fun AND it's from the folk who made Pure, which I loved.

ya it looks interesting for sure. wonder how theyll implement the control over the environment and if it gets boring when all powers are used up..
but not that it matters i wont be around in may :'(

I really liked that Pure demo but I must have been playing a bunch of other stuff around when it came out because I never got it. (Actually I think I was playing Test Drive Unlimited...) Maybe I'll make it up to them and get Split/Second if it's just as fun.

Racing games!!

I got to play the demo at PAX last year and it was a blast to play. I do wish there was more of the car combat gameplay you get from a burnout game, but taking them out with the tracks explosions and flying wreckage kept the game exciting and tense. Also you don't have to stop and wind your way on a map during a race, which was a big problem for me in burnout paradise.
Split/Second is the NON-Activision one right? I always get that and Blur confused.
IIRC Split/Second is the Disney game.

Blackrock is the developer and yeah, like Pure, Disney is publishing it.

Played through the new Resident Evil DLC stage with MattTheVegan tonight. Very cool to be back in the mansion from the first game. Nice focus on exploration at the start. RE5 still looks damn good. It's only 90 minutes long, though, so it's best enjoyed by gameshare.

Yup. We played Resident Evil, munched on tofu and sprouts, and discussed all of the cool things we're going to do with the world after the omnivores die off.
Man 70 hours in the past two weeks, you must really be addicted...
Steam sold you out once again
I took a break for a few hours last night to play some 2142... but yeah, I got nothin'. :hot:

Also I heard Half-Life 3 is going to be Mac exclusive, Mr. B. :D
Im should jump on that infamous deal...good games last night, i really enjoyed the Sniper match
Save your money. inFamous really sucks. At least it did to me. I got bored with it after about 5 hours of 'go here, shoot these goons, help or hurt the idiotic npc's, rinse, repeat'.

I picked up my copy from GoHastings when they had the 20-30% off sale a while back and I was glad I only paid about $20-ish for it. Anything more is a ripoff.

damn Randy I've trying to get someone to play the RE5 dlc with me for a few weeks...been waiting on Devil May Cry, but if you want to play it again, i can do Friday night late, or Sunday night

I'm SORRY! It's just the way I am with Paypal. I don't add from my bank account unless it's an emergency. I only get Paypal funds if I sell things. I'm getting a payment either today or tomorrow and it should be more than enough to get both DLC and pay the shipping for RF:G.
Also I heard Half-Life 3 is going to be Mac exclusive, Mr. B. :D
I would buy a mac if that were true, but thankfully there is no chance it hell it will happen. Was playing Opposing Force earlier, forgot about the stupid elevator problem where you get stuck and can't move...

Good games everyone! Man that Just Cause 2 demo was pretty chaotic. I'm going to have to give it a whirl again now that I have only half a clue of what I am doing.

Just Cause 2 seems like a lot of fun. When I tried to grapple a motorcycle from the top of a car, I thought I was attaching the motorcycle to the car but instead my guy grapple-jump-kicked the rider right off it and started driving it like it was nothing. I just burst out laughing.

I'll definitely have to play it again soon and pay more attention to the structured objectives. This time I was too distracted by blowing stuff up and crashing planes.
just cause 2 is money!!!! That demo is so much fun
+1

Well I played the JC2 demo again and my only real complaint is the horrible camera. I can deal with the loosey goosey controls though because it is incredibly fun just grappling everywhere and blowing stuff up.

The game has become a day one purchase for me now and the $15 pre-order credit from Amazon really makes this game a steal.
