Nope, still working on that. Was waiting on internet access and by the time I got that I'm now in Texas for GDC Austin so won't be able to resume repairs until a week from today.

I dunno about every night, but we should definitely do it twice a week at least. The game has really strong support here in CAG PS3 land.
 
Hey great games as usual guys! We should start a serious discussion on doing a consistent second RF night. Since GTA is dead... we do have Wednesdays free now...... just saying.

Totally unrelated Battlefield talk:
For those who were interested in getting into BF2/2142, they recently released the final patch for BF2 which adds content from the previously pay-only booster packs. I've always wanted to try the US highways tank battle map, so I'll probably be playing BF2 a bit. And you'd love it, MisterB, the Euro Force maps come with a FAMAS!

Of course if you guys want to put a 2142 squad together instead, I'm up for that as well. Titan mode >>>>> Conquest.

Who says GTA is dead? I'm still playing it. I've been practicing my kamikaze/carbomb maneuvers for the next CAG GTA night. :D

I'm up for exploiting glitches on GTAIV anytime anyone else wants to goof around in it. I flew into the side of Rotterdam Tower tonight and flew under the map.:D
 
OK, I'm still not incredibly familiar with the game..... is the only way to get into a party to be invited by someone already in it? I really can't stand it when games don't have a 'join game with friends' button to join in-progress matches. I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something and sitting around twiddling my thumbs for no reason. With a wife and two kids (and only one TV), my window of opportunity to play can be pretty small sometimes, which is why I end up just trying to jump in at some random time.
 
Unfortunately, from the few times I have managed to play online, that seems like the ONLY way to get into a game to be able to play is to be invited by someone already IN a game.

May I suggest scouring Craigslist for a second TV(even if it ends up being a cheap old SDtv for now), so that you're not so constricted when it comes to time.

Yeah, that's what I figured.

I have a second TV back in the bedroom, but its a hassle moving systems around (and I don't want to play in SD anyway). I did set a widescreen LCD monitor next to our TV, so I can at least hook my 360 to it if needed, but I don't have an adapter for the PS3.

Actually, if you can somehow scrape up $189(plus tax), Target has a 21.5" LCD monitor that has an HDMI hookup on it that you can jack the PS3 into. It has crappy little internal speakers, so you'd also need a set of PC speakers you could jack into the headphone jack I believe is on the monitor, but those should be easy to find cheap.

There's also a thread on CAG for the same brand monitor but a slightly bigger size(23") for $180 and I believe that's the price SHIPPED.

Hey, try and keep GTA night going if you want, but I know a bunch of us are pretty much done with the game. It had a great run but it is time to move on.

Anyways we should start discussion on a second RF night.
 
Nooooo. Say it ain't so. I don't get to run a cop car into anymore gas pumps with everyone going 'wtf is he doing' followed by 'oh shit'?

Seriously though, it was a pretty good run and Randy and a few others still do show up on Weds night, but if no one else shows up then they switch back to whatever they were playing.

Even if we get a small group, we could always just play Deal Breaker or Hangman's Noose or one of the other smaller group games.

If I ever stop being such a cheapass sometime, maybe I'll spring for a the 1.5mbps DSL and be able to play RF:G online for longer than 20 seconds. But I really don't see that happening anytime soon.

My local walmart has either game for 20 bucks so, whatever everyone else wants to play is fine with me, still have to get a cheap mic to speak with everyone.

I opted to schedule Wednesday as the second day after we discussed it as a replacement for GTA Night. I'll make it whenever you guys want, obviously. My weekends are usually pretty busy so I can't commit to participating on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays regularly.

Also, and I know I've mentioned this about 674 times already, I'd like to get an evening going for Uncharted 2 and Borderlands in October (if the multiplayer/co-op on those is as excellent as it appears to be), so I'll probably drop out of a second night of RFG in favor of one of those games in the near future.

I can probably make RFG tonight but I think Monday/Thursday would be better if we're going to double up for a while.

Wednesday has traditionally been Battlefield night, anyway. :) Which one are we playing, xxx??

Also does anyone have recommendations on a 5.1 setup?
 
Mon/Thurs works for me, but I am trying to move my schedule around a bit so I can make it tonight. So why don't we just try and do a RF night tonight and then discuss the final day for the second night.

Also the second RF night can easily be changed to Uncharted next month.

I don't have a "true" 5.1 setup anymore: I replaced my old system with this Sony soundbar/subwoofer about a month ago and I love it. It's got the Bravia Link feature, too, so it works seamlessly with the PS3 and my Sony HDTV.
