CAG/PS3 Red Faction: Guerrilla Night [Thursdays @ 10pm EST]

I want BBC2, but doubt I'll get it day one. I don't want to buy any more games until I finish/sell some of the ones I have already (I'm looking at you Killzone 2/U2/GoW Col). Probably the next game I buy day one, regardless of backlog, will be whatever the next GFB game will be (episodes from LC perhaps?)

Yeah, I think randy and I did it in ~6-8 hours, give or take... Though we didn't know what to expect in some parts so we had to repeat a few sections multiple times. I pretty much know what to expect so it shouldn't take that long. Also, we don't have to do it on the hardest difficulty if you're looking to play it as quickly as possible. We can do normal or medium hard. It's all up to you.

Ha man, the only people that ever say there is no difference between SD and HD always seem to be the people that don't have HD systems.......................

Glad you can see the light now B.

Although I really want to buy BFBC2, since I liked the first one, I really have to finish some of the games in my backlog, so it'll probably be Goozex'ed to me the the time I'm ready to play it (depending on queue position, or peer pressure... whichever comes first).

Also, how odd that DD needs to finish the same games as I do...

From the BFBC2 Twitter: If you preorder for the PC before the 25th, you get a free copy of Battlefield 2142, which is a much better game.

Mr. B, we're playing this weekend, right?? After all the glitching.
as a quick side question.. whos getting bad company 2?
I wish I could, but right now I'm putting my limited resources toward getting Red Dead Redemption.

O rly? Already got my ps3 version paid for, but I do love a good Battlefield.
The difference between SD and HD IS indeed night and day.

Everything is crisper, cleaner and I can actually read most of the friggin' text in games now.

I played Wipeout HD for a bit earlier and I could tell what it said on the screen.

I apologize to all of those who I pissed off with my 'I'll never go HD' rants.

BIG thanks to Metaly for the HDMI-DVI Cable
Was just going to use it some of the time, but then decided fuck it, and moved my receiver and speakers all around, HD & 5.1 :D
Hope all of you get this joke
Hey.:bomb: You copied my 'I've been converted to HD' thread first post almost in it's entirety. Bastard(and smartass).:bomb: I almost forgot this smiley. Good 'joke'(at my expense).

FYI: You could've got a whole extra 1.5" by going with the full HD monitor I have(Acer H213H)from Target for $160 AND had a built in HDMI port so you wouldn't have needed the adapter.

Now my next major project is to get rid of my 'Brazilian internet'(768kbps minimum speed DSL)and get something a tad faster.:D

So I guess when you guys switch the the Episodes from LC for playing GTA IV, I'm still not gonna be invited, right?

This is pulling double duty as my computer monitor and my ps3 monitor, when I'm sitting 3 feet away 20" is plenty big.
Cause this thread is the best thread ever... WKC Wiki.
Also, I think we need to waste time killing shit to S rank that mission.
Yeah we probably do need to kill more shit instead of just running past it. I went and bought the GR3 missions, and it gives me the S rank, but also marks them as incomplete . One of those little quirks the game has, not that it bothers me. The game is extremely fun, it would be even more fun with 4 people not just 2, hint hint ;).
as a quick side question.. whos getting bad company 2?
I am. I pre-ordered from Amazon because they're doing a $20 credit on a future game purchase (and I had Amazon credit).
when I'm sitting 3 feet away 20" is plenty big.
That's what she said.
hint hint ;).
No more hints, stop being what this site is called and buy this game. DD & I just played for 6+ hours nonstop and it was awesome. We about to enter the missions where we could use an extra hand or two.

Ring Mission = Most Unexpected S-Rank Ever

Flik, you signed off about 5 seconds before a deluge of invites were about to come your way...

Did you have to buy a seperate HDMI cable for the monitor though? Mine came included with the monitor package. And yeah, 21.5" is plenty big when you're sitting so close too.

Hah, invites for what? WKC???? I will get it eventually..................
Finally beat WKC... Probably going to do New Game+ before getting GR7 though.
Yeah I just grinded through the last two areas again, I was thinking of doing the same, just run until Frass Chasm then start fighting stuff again.

The thing about New Game+ is that we cannot play any of the online missions until we re-unlock those areas in NG+, which sucks.

I still hate my stupid miners though .

Yeah, I was thinking about that after I typed that message... I haven't started NG+ but may shortly, the good thing is if you avoid killing unless you need to and skip the cut scenes, I heard you can run through in less than 4 hours. After you've run through you could always run through again, getting the chests later, since you can't wear that shit yet anyways.
Though, we'll only be playing that desert mission over and over anyways.

Speaking of your miners, I should stop by your village to see what's her face.
About how long was it?
I had ~40 hours on my playtime counter when I finished, probably 15-20 was spent online/soloing/exploring/grinding. I think bubbles said he had it done in 24 or so. Also worth noting, there isn't really much need to grind if you explore and kill everything you can first run through, at least my team didn't need to, might need to depending on how you set up your team. Single player on this game is pretty much an extended primer for the online though, the story is kinda meh (though I did think it got better as it went on) with pretty laughable dialog (though I did think it got a little better as it went on, and yes, I meant to say that twice) and voice acting (though it stayed shitty all the way through).

Yeah it took me about 25 hours to finish the single player game. I could run through the entire map, but that is awfully risky especially in those last few dungeons. DD is right, the SP is basically a way to level up your character for the multiplayer quests.

Oh and for Flik:

Question for zen, or anyone really...
I saw you commenting in TMK blog about minute rice... This leads me to believe you have a nice rice maker. My question is, can you use those to make a whole meal? Like, put the rice, vegitables, seasonings, and say, a raw frozen chicken breast and have everything come out done? I've been wanting to get one but I'm not sure it'll do what I want it to do.

You should be able to do that, but with a thawed chicken breast. I really need to experiment with my rice cooker. I know pasta, soups and veggies are real easy to do though. I don't know how "nice" mine is (wish the cord detached), I picked it up for $30 last year at costco after I got my annual reward in (only paid $10 basically) and it's pretty solid and easy to clean.

Damn, now I'm thinking about dinner.

Also game night bumpos.

Lets rock this shit .

Boot Camp II, xp grinding heaven, but really hard to do solo. I died, then just quit because I was tired of playing after beating Big Red for like 2 hours . Thanks to the Player One Podcast for keeping me entertained during that.
@ mguiddy - I couldve sworn I saw you playing AoT 40th Day over the weekend. Would you want to try some Co-Op?
We could... I'll be playing through probably at least another six times or so (god... I'm pathetic.) for that trophy (why would they put in a trophy where you needed to kill 6,666 people in the campaign, that's just stupid, unless it was like a Dead Rising game where through the course of the game you could easily kill thousands of zombies), though I gotta take a little break from it. Played through twice within a two week period.

I was looking at one of those $100+ fuzzy logic things imported from Japan.

Damn it, if I knew you were going to play after SOCOM I would've stayed up. Oh well, I'm down for some BCII later tonight before RFG.
@dd ask hone02. he uses rice cooker every day
I may do that.
Back to reality today...or whatever the fuck CAG is.

Did you guys miss me?
Yes Randy, we did miss you. Good to have you back.

Also I will try one last time hosting tonight. I've put my PS3 in a DMZ and that is the last thing I can think of doing. If the shit hits the fan and I can't get a stable lobby going, I am going to retire from ever hosting this game again.

I didn't have a bad time hosting. So I don't mind being part of the rotation.

It does get a bit tiring. I think between that trophy and two of the multiplayers ones, I decided Im not gonna Platinum it. Just send me a PM on here or the PSN with times youd be looking to play.

I believe in the last level, when you are fighting up the set of stairs just before the chaingunner comes out, you can just stay at the bottom of the stairs and the enemies infinitely spawn. My first playthorugh was on Contractor so I was taking a pretty cautious approach through most of the game and I rememeber taking out guys for about 30 minutes straight, waiting for a gap so that I could go up the stairs, but they seemed to just keep spawning. I think as soon as the chaingunner spawns then the normal enemies stop.

Yeah, I don't think I'll plat it either, it'll sit on my shelf with games like Resistance 2 and Battlefield Bad Company.

As for what flik missed... it's not something that could be explained.
@bubbles :whee: Supposedly rebirth does reset all your skill trees. No more wasted points in short sword!
Really, oh man, now Im really going to have to get to 50 asap, its going to take a long long time . So you would have 340 (85x4) points to spend?

Gearbox is insane... new patch goes live with the DLC Thursday... but no voip fix in sight. WTF are they thinking?

Also, there's probably around 15-20 people playing this online.
