I found WKC to be a bit old school (outside of the battle system and online). "Save the princess" base plot is fairly simple. Also this the first FF I really haven't enjoyed, though I did skip 11 and 12...
 
Yeah for a game that is relying heavily on it's story, there is absolutely no excuse for the shoddy narrative that FF13 has.

I want to get to know these characters and who they are but the game keeps putting up roadblocks. I actually found the battles to be pretty fun and sort of the highlight of the game for me so far. But oh man, the narrative really needs some serious work. :|

I think the last jrpg I truly liked was Tales of Vesperia. And that was back in 2008. How sad. :(

On a side note, I did pick up a copy of FFVI Advance recently, and that game is bringing back some great memories. I am really digging the new translation as well. Though the game is far sillier than I remember it, I guess it really has been a long time since I've played it.

They coupons also stack (well... they're supposed to, starting tomorrow... there was an issue but the Sears Holding rep here said it'll be fixed tomorrow) and can be used on more PSN card purchases!
 
Anyone want a copy of Dragon Quest 9 for ~$20?

TRU is doing a buy-one-get-one-for-$5 promo on select DS games and that's one of 'em. We can basically get 2 copies for $40 and split the price.

I'm a little intimidated by the RPG-ness of it, but everything else I've read and heard about it sounds fun to me. For $20, I can afford to give it a whirl.

I think the other RPG that I mentioned I was interested in was Alpha Protocol, back when I thought it was going to be like that Jason Bourne game, which I enjoyed. Now that it's out, though, it sort of just sounds like a buggy Mass Effect without the aliens.

Also, Patchwork Heroes for the PSP is going to be $5 once the store updates. It's a lot of fun and everyone should play it.

So basically it is Mass Effect without aliens (and gameplay, and charm, and a compelling story, etc etc). But FYI, anything Bioware makes is buggy by default.
 
It was definitely DQIX. DQ games (in my mind) have always been crazy grind fests that I would've never imagined you'd like.

And Alpha Protocol... I think Yatzee's review is the only one I saw that didn't boo the game for making guns damn near useless if you don't have points in the skill tree, so it's the only one I think is valid. :lol:

Well that was a bit silly of me!

During one of our anarchy matches I fired up a game of SC2 (because I wanted to sit that round out) and forgot I had RFG still running on the tv behind me.

I hope I didn't screw up teams too much :|

I should be home by 10:30-10:45 on Wednesday, which should be right about when the goozex event is ending I am guessing. Since we are questing tonight, I think wednesday should work out. Plus it allows flik to play a game with us that's not starcraft

Well... I'd be down with doing some RDR on Wednesday (I guess... was still figuring on doing WKC, but whatever :lol:) if we can get a bigger group (3-4). Two, unless one is really good at shooting without autoaim, is about impossible in any mission you need to drive while being attacked.
Goozex event should be done by... who knows, but I'll be leaving at 10.

Also... we need to do some more Alien Swarm with custom maps... that was really stupidly fun.

Kick-Ass was awesome. Completely underappreciated. Glad people are finally seeing it and liking it. I don't want the game, though.

Semi-Precious Weapons was on at the same time as DEVO and Cymbals Eat Guitars so we didn't see them.
