It's only a $0.40 savings. If you already have PS+ or no use for it, it's basically a wash.

EDIT: The Resident Evil PSOne classics are only good for two weeks (same as the HD games being on sale).

I am looking to start a long term PS+ GameShare group. It will initially start off with the Resident Evil 4 HD release and encompass for a fact, RECVX HD. That is the only concrete purchase titles.

Ideally this would be a long term group so long as funds allow for all parties involved. I believe in majority rules, so a game purchase would require a 60% vote (or 3 out of 5 of the members). If 2 of the members do not want the new item purchased the item shall still be purchased, but the password will be changed. Allowing the 2 people who did not want the game(s) to keep what they rightly paid for up until that point. Hopefully this is agreeable for some of you out there. I believe that is the only fair way to have a long term gameshare group exist. If only 1 or 2 of the members want an item and they cannot get majority share, then they should be buying it on their main PSN account to once again, keep everything fair.

The initial cost for each member would be $14. Payment would either be through PayPal or Amazon gift card (that is how I would be buying the PSN funds). That would include the following

  • PlayStation Plus for one year from the release of Resident Evil 4 HD
  • Resident Evil 4 HD
  • Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD
  • Anything else that is free from PS+ for the length of the year membership
  • Anything that the majority of the group (3 out of 5 members) agree to buy. (See above for more details).

This is wrong in so many ways. Whoever the host is, essentially has everyone hostage. There's no "vote". You either agree or lose future access to stuff you purchased. Can't wait to see the cluster%^&# with the password when people want out or try to sell last minute. This is more of akin to a PS+ subscription.

It may not be pretty, but it is no more fair for 3 or 4 of the 5 members to NOT be able to get what they want because 1 or 2 members refuse, in fact, as per the numbers, it is more unfair. By changing the password the locked out people will still have the content bought on the gameshare up till that point as well as the free PS+ stuff up until that point. Furthermore, the locked out members can be welcomed back in whenever they want, they just have to pay for the share of goods bought that they refused to pay for prior.

There's no other logical way to do a long-term gameshare than this. By the larger party agreeing to buy what they want and letting the lesser party remain active that means the lesser party would get a free ride on those games, HOW is that fair?

Also, this won't have a short lifespan. Wanna know why? Cause Saix, DarkMario, lily, and myself are all friends. We're merely trying to find a fifth member to pad things out.

Honestly, it should never come to that anyways. Whoever buys the final share, if they bothered to read would know that it's a 3/5 vote and if they are outvoted then they should pay their share regardless as that is what they agreed to. Anyone who doesn't, or signs up without knowing what they are getting into shouldn't be gamesharing anyways.

Well said. If we spend $15 a month, then it is a mere $4 per person per month. You save 80% on everything purchased. If $4 is breaking your bank, then there are bigger things for you to worry about.

I admit that someone gets the short end of the stick, so shouldn't the people who DON'T pay get that, not the people who paid?

Besides, if it was just "let's make an account for these 4 games and then call it quits" I would not be trying to make a long term gameshare that has a year of PS+. I would just do what everyone else is doing with the 3 months. This about getting the best bang for our buck, and isn't that what being a CAG is all about?
 
If your joining a game that buys games on a 3/5 vote then your gonna be paying for all games that recive the 3/5 vote regardless. Why would anyone join the group and just quit at the first moment a game they dont want is voted YES on? Your paying a fraction of the cost of the game. Giving members the option to pay or not will just incress the cost for all other members and if thats the case they should just create a new share with 5 members for that game to save cash.

Also locking someone out of content they bought so they cant resell it or reinstall it on another PS3 if theres YLOD is probally worse. I think how most groups work, if someone starts refusing to pay its pretty much the end of the group.

The issue with that is if their system YLOD they can't get the stuff back anyway, all 5 slots are taken, so that is a moot point.

In terms of not being able to sell the account, I support that. I want people who actually have an interest in this for themselves as well as helping out others. If they decide they want out and want to sell their "share" to someone else, how do I, along with the other 3 members, know that new person can be trusted and uphold the same rules the previous person did? We can't, as such that is something I want to avoid as well.

your oblivion trophy pisses me off. lol

if i may.. in any groupshare(longterm)the 3/5 vote would seem ideal on paper or pixel but the honest truth is someone will always feel uncomfortable with many of the purchases they really don't care for.
IMO there should always be a waiver/lean for each person in the group throughout the groups relationship and this would ease every or most purchases.
say for every member, each member gets to refuse payment once or twice during the active group votes if they dislike the game/s

It's a 1250/1250 not a platinum, but similar.

Well since I know the 3 other members pretty well. One person I am in another long term gameshare with, the other person I apparently got into game sharing, and the other person I have known for like last 4/5 years I am rather comfortable with giving them passes every once in a blue moon. The reason I didn't want to give everyone a free pass was because if they were people who I could not really trust, people who I had no idea what they were really like.

Gameshare involves money, pure and simple. And when money and multiple people are involved often times greed is soon to follow. So I wanted to make it fair for everyone, but now that the group is 4/5 people that I know I can trust, I am OK with giving a few free passes now and then. After all CAG is a community to help one another save money, the same goes for gamesharing, on a smaller basis of course.

Also....you live in Rockaway? No shit, I used to live there. I grew up on Shore Front Parkway in the apartment buildings that I think they were like 20 or so floors, right across from the beach and the racquetball courts. Not sure if you know where that is though. I actually still remember the majority of my address. 8800 Shore Front Parkway. Apartment 4P. From what I heard the beach/boardwalk area was hit pretty hard by Irene.
