Scammers, password changers, and snipers have taken over this thread. A share I sold to lmatador15 a couple hours ago was sniped. Not sure how long it took him to try to activate from the time I sent the info and deactivated but it was sniped within a couple of hours nonetheless. For people selling, make sure to communicate with the buyer and make sure he activates within a very short window, and for all snipers, go to hell. lmatador15 do you want a refund? Like I said, i'll try again tomorrow to make sure it wasn't a PSN glitch but i'm positive I deactivated.

Im starting to think maybe as we seac to change to a temp pass and the buyer can change it back as he activates, this way we wouldnt have an open account sitting there even for a few minutes, the only thing would be the buyer HAS to change the pass back immediately after its activated

That's actually a very good idea, I don't know why no one's done it before. Temporarily change the password, tell the buyer the new password and the original, and then the buyer changes it back to the original once he activates. The only problem is some people take far too long to activate and everyone else in the group wouldn't know the temp pass and may have problems if the buyer takes too long to activate.
 
Just stay logged into the PS3 account you're selling until the buyer signs you out. I'm not deactivating until both parties are on CAG and have access to a PS3 at this point. It takes longer, but you make it almost impossible for someone to steal.

Could always make the buyer activate asap, if he cant activate then hell have to wait until we deactivate. Ive actually held a couple for people while they couldnt activate just to prevent the account from getting sniped

I held a Burnout Paradise share for bill123 for months. That's why I got upset at jamehze losing an account in about 3 hours. I've always checked Qriocity and reactivated after a few hours. Just stay signed in to the account until they boot you off now.

I did that recently too. Doesn't really seem like asking too much to help out an honest CAG'er by hanging on to the slot until it's convenient for him or her!

Someone did change the password on Turkeyburkboy's Saints Row 2. I tried to trade him for it earlier. I've had no issues with the other two accounts I've gotten from them. Replied to every PM I sent, and fast too. I think they're just trying to establish themselves here.

Damn, why they being honest with me? Things couldn't have gone any smoother with SteamboatOperator. I'm currently "renting" a share out to him, I trust him that much. Yet, I'm 1/5 with jamehze. Go figure.

Just these past few days I've been in contact with you about a Mass Effect 2 share, again with no problems. I would really like to know what your problem is, this is totally out of left field.

I've traded and sold with a lot of CAG'ers this past month, the likes of NSYNC and TurkFebrurary, and have not wronged any of them.

I haven't had any issues with Steamboatoperator. He sent me a pm asking to buy my slot of Mass Effect 2. I pm'd Meeek (the host of the share) to ask if he was ok with me selling my share to a new user and expressed that i would prefer to sell to a more established member in light of all the cases of sniping and changed passwords. Meeek then forwarded me a pm in which Steamboatoperator asked to buy HIS share and basically dug himself a hole by saying he was in no hurry to obtain a share and explicitly stated that he wouldn't pursue any other shares for the game and would buy it from Meeek when he was through with it in a couple of days. That's probably what pissed Meeek off - and i would personally prefer to keep things as tight knit as possible and only deal with established users when it comes to shares i haven't hosted. I have no issues with Steamboatoperator - i'm sure he is a very nice guy

How are people 'sniping' accounts? They had to know the account email and password. So therefore 'snipers' can be traced to the selected few who had the account previously.

If you absolutely can not deactivate from your system.
PM the email of that account. You need to consult with everyone else in the group first. Not sure you can identify your PS3 system out of the five after the 18th.

Meeek did not respond to 2 of my pm's regarding the Mass Effect 2 share which is why I am now searching for alternatives. I just figured he was extremely reluctant to sell me the slot given the current climate here and be being a noob, and I understood that. First he said he would sell me the slot, then said he couldn't, said another member claimed it, then that I could be put on a wait list. I sent him 2 follow up PM's that he failed to acknowledge for one reason or another.

Far too many people on this thread acting like complete intellectual midgets. Damn shame if you ask me.

I'll say it again cause it bares repeating. I am currently in a group with heavyd (the guy meeek claims can verify im "full of shit"), and I have dealt with many reputable CAGs successfully. Not one person here can claim that I have wronged them.

This wouldn't be necessary if you people didn't have to resort to behaving like 13 yr old females and commence with name dropping in public with absolutely no evidence. I realize this is a tough time in the gamesharing realm, but if you conduct yourselves like intelligent adults we can get through this nice and smoothly. Grow up.

That's fine for now but what happens on the 18th when some idiot decides to deactivate all 5 slots and change the password? You and i have already established how difficult it is to sniff out scammers with half a brain (badman827 was a fucking disgrace to scammers everywhere). You can file a dispute after the 18th and recover money for one slot, but what do you do about the other 4 slots? I don't blame people for being cautious, hell i encourage it and it sucks that a lot of people who are new to gamesharing will be caught in the middle, but that, i'm afraid, is that unfortunate reality of our gamesharing world at the moment. While i'd love to give everyone a shot, conventional wisdom says i'd be silly to do so

Yes I PM'ed heavd after our conversation, but only because you failed you respond to my PM's. Did you not receive them? This may simply be a case of either you accidentally skipped over my PM's, deleted them by mistake, or failed to receive them in the first place by a fault of the messaging system or myself (not actually clicking "submit").

I would agree that going back on our deal is a shitty thing to do, and I had every intention to purchase your slot, but because of your reluctance (seemingly) to sell me the slot in the first place and the fact that I did not hear back from you (technical or human error) I figured the deal was no good and that it would be best to pursue another route.

A lie that you falsely attributed to me with zero evidence.

While your point of view can be seen as valid, your approach to tackling the potential problem was highly unproductive and emotionally fueled - you only caused further problems to which you are seemingly oblivious to. You also showed a clear lack of professionalism by going public rather than contacting me personally. This whole deal was just poorly thought out and there was no clear plan to solve it, and this is what really grinds me. That a respected GAG'er and gamesharing elder can act like this is unacceptable to me. Perhaps it is wrong of me to expect anything more.

First of all in order for an attack, which there is none, to be deemed ad hominem I would have to have rejected a claim of yours by listing an irrelevant fact about your person. This I have not done. Please refrain from falsely applying terminology which you do not understand into your arguments. I will call you out on it every time.

Haven't I already explained why I PM'ed heavyd? Yes I have, numerous times. It would benefit you to review the material presented to you before you retort.

I have to agree with Meek, to many new people popping up all of a sudden tryng to buy shares up. where were they before????
gotta be careful, just cause someone buys a few shares and pays, doesn't mean they can be trusted yet.
If I was a "scammer" 1st thing I would do is have a few good transactions to earn trust then wham, bam, thank you ma'am.
