You can't resell any phantom slot. What is done with the shares after 6 months is up to the two resellable holders. Phantom shares are popular enough as it is..

Well he is taking the resell slot and making it a resellable phantom up to 6 months then it is permanent phantom.
 
I understand I could trade in for $12 but I was banned from trading in at BB because was slinging too many PS2 games. Back in my hayday I was making some stupid money with that crap. Anyways it is for sale on Amazon, I will see what happens. Besides it is nice to have games directly on my system but to get $12 for my physical copy and rebuy for almost $9 kinda sucks because I only have so many available slots for users.

Keep the account active but delete the user off your PS3, not the actual content. Frees a user slot and avoids you getting sniped inside 6 months everytime. You can do this an unlimited amount and avoid a total redownload. 16 slots shouldn't be a problem for anyone, only HDD space and password security. You'll need to have enough HDD space to get a new owner key though (a 10 GB game means having 20 GB free). Once it activates again, simply cancel the download and you're done, saving potentially hours depending on the size of stuff.
