So, I run a hosting service for PS3 gameshares that requires a UK based account. Here's how it works:

One of the CAGs that form part of the group you want me to host will message me about hosting. I will deal with this person alone. This person will gather the funds from the others and send the whole sum to me in a single transaction. I will set up the account, buy the content using my bank card and message the contact with the account details to distribute accordingly to their gameshare group. To confirm, I use my bank card, not PayPal. This means I can handle specific amounts that dont need to be rounded up to the nearest 5 or 10 meaning you pay only what you need to. It goes without saying that this is a free service but I still want to make it clear as I have been asked before if I charge for doing this, the answer is no and I never will.

Here's some pointers. Before asking me to be your host, make sure your familiar with these:

  • I like to handle the account from start to finish. This means I set up the email account too, I fully appreciate you may be saving me the time of doing it but I would much rather spend the extra 5 mins and be able to delete my billing information and intercept the transaction confirmation emails. If you do go ahead and set one up for me, i'll disregard it and set up my own one anyway.
  • It's the responsibility of the person asking me to host to gather the funds from the group and send them to me in one go so Im not sitting on 3 peoples payments while the 4th drags his feet.
  • When sending payment which is only ever by PayPal, ensure you send it in GBP. PayPal has a function that allows you to send money in a different currency to that of your native country and it ensures I get the correct amount without having to use a converter just to make sure.
  • I host one account per day. Last time I hosted 2 in quick succession Sony hammered my card suspecting fraudulent activity so to avoid this, it's one at a time.

gsharing here on cag has to be searched for when those with real interest want to take part in the community, but advertising for all to see will also send floods of scammers here. advertising gamesharing is never safe.

I second Boku no Pico. One of the best I've seen in a while. Also, I would suggest Steins Gate, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magicka, and Mirai Nikki. All three are thrillers with lots of twists. And no, they weren't directed by M Night Shamylan.

So right there is pocketed cash for the host. Also, the PS credit card gets you 10x bonus points on PSN purchases. So a $60 game gets you $6 in rewards points.

I wanted to come in here and say my piece. I know that I host a vast amount of groups. Many of which I am not in either. Like Pravado and sgand said sometimes a host can purchase PSN cards for below face value from other members. This can be helpful at times by knocking prices down by about $4-$5 which then stays with the host. Hosting takes some work to get everything set up and make sure everyone is taken care of so to make four or five dollars isn't too big of a deal. I personally don't have the SONY credit card for the 10X points and if I did I think I would run into the same issue that smartbombuk has where funding too many PSN accounts within a short time cut off his credit card.

My personal reason for hosting so many accounts is quite simple. I like to help people out. I see so ofter that no one wants to take on the responsibility of hosting though we all want to play the games. I feel that I have built a reputation as a responsible host that is willing to help. I do this for (often times) no personal gain. I have 5 groups being hosted for Tuesday's games as of right now yet I currently have no discounted PSN cards on hand. Therefore I will use my paypal to fund $300.00 on PSN accounts for the games. Set up for the accounts and hosting responsibilities will honestly take 1-2 hours spread out over the day. It doesn't bother me at all because I feel we are a community. Members make the community stronger.

As an additional example from yesterday. We completed the Dante's Inferno group. I did get a discounted PSN card from KB24. The group paid for a game that was $25.00 but because I got a small discount on the card I purchased the Ultimate Edition ($30.00) for the group instead of the lower version with just Trophy DLC.

Lastly, I know a few people have been lucky enough to get these things but whenever I have multiple groups for the same game the Group A slot is always purchased with any available DLC on release day. Many members have seen the benefits of this. Specifically those in my Dead Island Riptide group, Metro Last Light, The Last of Us, and many more.

Sorry for such a long post but I think it best displays where I am coming from and why I do what I do.

Apparently those who've already got the game for many there's been major server errors for like 18 hours straight. Lucky for you that you know you're not gonna buy it now.

Off topic, got a PSP emulator running on my android phone and ripped my persona 3 portable umd and it's awesome since I lost my PSP.

Lol I had an emulator playing that game on my phone as well, but decided to get a PSP not too long ago with that game. The emulator killed my phone's battery

I actually tried playing P3P last night but noticed the cut scenes were standstill compared to Persona 3 FES, I'd rather get FES back for the PS2 XP

Tell me about it, after half an hour my phone is all kinds of crazy hot but hey it's a start. They've even got a ds one now, though I imagine that would be awkward to play.

I got fes to play for the scenes (not started it yet) but portable is the superior imo gameplay wise. They're both different experiences enough to give a try, the FeMc has the best boss battle track in the game.

Alright, I'm at the end of my rope with trying to figure out what to do on an issue I'm having. Thought I'd ask you folks since you all seem to know about games working and not working and such.

Back when Ico/SotC came out, I had a disc version. I made it through completely on normal, did all time attacks, and then started hard but the rage just caused me to quit. I ended up trading my disc version, but kept my save backed up to the cloud. I recently decided to give it another go after seeing some new strategies for the time attacks have emerged. I got a PSN UK version from someone here. Now my save was NA disc version, so I used a program to convert it to the right region. Save loads fine, but I noticed I'd get a lot of stuttering and freezing during the game. Just a few seconds, while loading a new area, and nothing game breaking. Sometimes textures and parts of the map wouldn't come in, but I didn't think anything of it. I finally got through hard mode and beat the last colossus, only to have my game crash during the credits. No big deal, I saved right before, so I rebooted and tried again. Same result...crash during the credits at the same exact spot. I saw a thread on PS3T of some folks who had the same issue and seemed to resolve by downloading again, so I tried that...same exact result.

At this point, I'm thinking it was because I converted my save. So I erased it, started from scratch on normal and had the same result. By now I'm convinced something is up with the digital version of this game. I went out and grabbed a disc version. Same result, no matter what I do. Any ideas on why I can't seem to get this game to play properly? It's the only game I've had an issue with that I can remember. I really want to finish up hard mode as I've done all time attacks at this point except for the last one, which means I could very well plat this game after almost two years of trying.
 
Try using Save Resigner 1.4 if you still have the original save, the only thing I can think of is if the param.sfo somehow got messed up somewhere in the mix of things.
