Again, it's probably discussed numerous time, but still it's 196 pages for an easy question... so, pardon me for asking one more time.
Q: All right, seems easy enough, but how does this group thing work, and whats the point?

A: Basically, take the original idea, and add a few people into the mix. Each person logs on to the account, adds their credit card info, and buys the game(s) the group has agreed on. This is helpful to us, because prior to contorary belief, Sony limits us to gamesharing with 5 PEOPLE, not 5 shares per game. The whole group thing meets that requirement. Not to mention, having a single account for 5 people where you add and remove your credit card information is a LOT safer than just giving your account information to some random guy.

The 5 people is inclusive right? I mean, including yourself... So, that means you can only share up to 4 more people (your account can only be shared four times), correct?

Okay, another question perhaps asked a number of times... How do you successfully remove a sharing account? I have two PS3s and the 2nd PS3 is really taking up an extra sharing slot, so i want to free it. I deleted the account on my 2nd PS3, but my friend is still having trouble adding my account to her PS3 (she told me my sharing is maxed out).

I don't believe it's possible to remove a share. The way I understand is you get to share 5 playstation systems. Once you hit the 5 systems that's it even if one system dies. Which is why they let you share.

I would like to know the answer too.

Feeling risky?

I found a solution a while back, I haven't tried it because I haven't needed to. Sounds like it should work, some one said it should work, but I can't confirm 100%.

If you want to try..
Deactivation (Freeing up a license in case you need to format drive, replace, etc) DO THIS BEFORE DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

1) Log into the account that you would like to deactivate.

2) Go to "Playsation Network" and make sure you are signed in. From here, select "Account Management"

3) Select "System Activation", "PS3 System", "Game" and "Deactivate System". This will remove you from the group and return a free slot.

thanks for the info, i think i might have to do this... it's my 2nd PS3 anyway. i was sharing it with myself really, just saving the trip from going downstairs. i guess the convenience comes back and bite me in the rear now. Actually, that is the way to do it helmet...
 
Just give me a heads up if it actually works. No one has actually used it until now, but if it doesn't work, I need to stop spreading the misinformation. XD

I'm pretty sure it will, but yeah, i'll confirm... this works the same way as iPod and iTune thingy.
